There were no "villains" in GGGB, but I'd say Arthur was pretty close. And he was one of the most popular characters... He was selfish and depraved, but his interest was fairly simple and straightforward: to do selfish and depraves things to Ash and Iris.

For ORS I wanted the characters to move the plot forward in a more significant way. I wanted there to be actual villains. And as I was plotting the story and themes, two characters I had conceptualised merged into one: Seymour Ward. He's intelligent, and ambitious, he has something that the main characters want, and he has his own agenda, one that benefits only him. And most of all, he has power. That's what Arthur lacked: while he was a simple middle-class widower, Seymour is on top of the mountain. And he's there for a reason.

You'll learn more about him as the game progresses, but so far his appearances have been very fun to write. I'm pretty pleased on how he turned out as a character and I can't wait to use him in the many scenes that are already on my mind. I hope you enjoy interacting with him, opposing him, profiting from him or even helping him achieve his goals...

Arthur was def my favorite character! But I was super impressed with the complexity in character you presented in Seymour during his interactions with Lena (Ch 2&3)! I can tell you're having fun writing him into the story. Can't wait to see his darker side!

I had planned to throw Lena straight to him last I played and you just confirmed my choice, vilains are the best npc to interact, especially in this kind of game where corruption is always waiting the MC at every turn. Thx a lot for all your amazing work!

Rich, (depraved) people is very popular archetype. I mean, I think that Amazon even have the subcategory "billionaire" when it comes to romance novels (meaning, erotica). The only real problem in writing them is so they're not too depraved, and that the characters involved actually like it, so you don't go a step too far and create a Jeffrey Epstein-like person. But so far I'm looking forward to seeing what role he has to play in the story!

Seymour is a jerk. If a thread can defeat him would be fabulous.

I think the Landwhale was a villain.

Julian Harper

Please make him as depraved as Arthur! He looks like a cad, perfect design :)

I just wish that I could have pointed out that his question on Lena being a camel or lion was, actually, a false dichotomy, but maybe that is assuming Lena's wit was higher than it actually is (at least for now).

MysteryStreet

Excellent. Looking forward to seeing where this leads to.

Eva, I'm not chasing, just curious, when do you think Chapter 3 (final) will be ready? I miss Lana!
