Hells Kitchen is a neighbourhood in NYC, unfortunately nothing to do with Gordon Ramsey 😂 Hell's kitchen is a pretty small neighbourhood that used to be where poor Irish immigrants lived in NYC. It was a pretty poor neighbourhood, but it has been gentrified in recent years. So when they referrerence Hell's Kitchen as having so many issues it doesn't really work with the modern setting. But Daredevil is to Hell's Kitchen what Queens is to Peter Parker. They always need to be from there. This is also why Matty is catholic. He's of Irish descent (the mob guys talking to his dad in the flashback are also from the Irish mafia). Also fun fact, another "Irish" thing: Matty is ginger in the comics, but they always give him brown hair in live action adaptations for some reasons.

My favorite thing about the end fight scene was how messy it was. Played out just like someone who's just a regular human fighting 10 guys at once. You see how much he gets gassed after awhile. Not the traditional superhero, whoop everyone's ass so easy.

right? I don't think he even picked up that it's a long take and it's intentionally drawn out to show that Daredevil is just a human and he gets tired and beaten up and exhausted, but he keeps getting back up.

nah, keep that opinion to yourself, or at least, you're not speaking for any of us. When he didn't recognize daredevil in spiderman no way home, and didn't know who Kingpin was in both Hawkeye and IntoTheSpiderverse, it was a clear sign to the community that he needs to catch up on this show and The Punisher so that he can enjoy Spiderman a brand new day. We are here for the proper enjoyment of the shows and movies with proepr context, not to rush random MCU movies and then watch him state with a dumb look on his face when he doesnt know what's going on.

Surprised he didn't comment much on the ONETAKE fight scene, that is so crazy and iconic of this series. Sure, it leads to like 1 punch feeling a bit off here and there, but it feels way more real and intense this way in my opinion

Your take on the hallway fight I get it but look at it from a different lens. That entire scene was filmed in one take. Super impressive to make, and they only get better and crazier from here. You’re prob the only person in the world I’ve heard didn’t like that scene

Just and FYI because i dont think you picked it up in the last episode. This first season of Daredevil takes place right after the Incident of New York with the Avengers. At the time due to all sorts of legal IP this was made it was a Netflix only so they couldnt mention the Avengers by name so they just refer to it as the "incident" however it is Cannon to the MCU.

yeah it is often highlighted as a crazy cool scene, both because of it being onetake, and also because it shows a more realistic fight with heavy breathing and many punches and villains getting back up and such.. worst take yet imo :D

I know hallway fight slander isnt gonna be taken well. But i can see where youre coming from in the fact that it feels drawn out. Its just a directive decision. Mcu movies always have a long fight scene, but they have different shots and camera angles to keep it fresh, whereas this was a one take. I love both, but i can understand the pov of it feeling a bit drawn out

At the time this came out, fight scenes in superhero movies were kinda getting criticized for being unrealistic and all looking the same. When the one-take Daredevil hallway fight happened, everyone list their minds over it. Lots of copycat scenes in other action movies and shows followed

when you're telling the single person who updates content for everyone to get back to other shows instead of this, it is speaking on behalf of everyone. You could have worded it as "oh, I miss the MCU films . Xmen and stuff, hopefully we get more of that content soon too!" , and that would have been just fine. But when you said get BACK to the MCU films, it implies leaving THIS that others are loving to get BACK to something that you're loving , from someone with limited capacity and abiliy to singlethreadedly generate that content. whether it's intentional or not, fair enough, but those are the words that we'd be on the look out for at work because of the implications.
