Should I make Chapter 2 a separate game?

If there’d be an option to download update only there’d no real need to make part 2 a separate game.

The main issue with AVNs getting too large is cloud file services: LM has to upload the game somewhere, and most popular platforms for cloud storage limit download quota to 5GBs. Imperial Chronicles is already 8GB in size (zip).

Yeah my vote goes for making Chapter 2 it's 'own' game/part/exe. It keeps the size down, which will be appreciated by many. Just make sure to not fudge up the transfer of saves and it's choices/values(code). I guess that's the only downside I can find with making chapter 2 it's own "game", the (potential) mess of getting save-transfers to work. But there's a few ways around that too. Like, either dont fudge up lol. Or, just have the start of Chapter 2 be "please choose which of these choices you made in Chapter 1". I think personally I would like the option to just start chapter 2 with the ability to choose which choices I did in Chapter 1. That would also mean LM wouldn't have to even worry about save-transfers functioning properly. But it's convinent if we could transfer saves/choices, so when CH2 0.1 comes out we can just import and play right away. Chapter 1 isn't even done yet, and we're already over 7gb (IIRC), we're gonna have one heck of a massive download. And sure there could be "update only" versions of each update, but that too runs a risk of breaking things. Maybe. What do I know lol. Point is, I sincerely, in a longwinded way, vote without a doubt for making Chapter 2 it's own part/exe.

The answer to this question depends on several parameters. 1. How would the choices be transferred to the second chapter. (For me personally, the more choices that remain preserved, the better. Of course, it is clear that every variable thing complicates further development.) 2. If one mega game were made, it would be necessary to consider where to upload it, since downloading 20 G from a service limited to 5 G is a bit nerve-wracking. Rather than paying for faster downloads from storage service for one game, it is better to give the money directly to the game creator. Otherwise, it feels me like a choice between wasting time or money. 3. It is better to have the game together, but I assume that the larger the file, the harder it will be to debug and keep it bug-free. So I am cautiously leaning towards the option "one file per chapter", but the catch will be in the implementation.

Gdrive doesnt seem to limit DL size and is quite fast, but you'll probably need to pay for subscription.

Doesn’t matter to most of us brother, even if the game is 50GB we will download it and play or if you want to make it a separate game then that’s fine as well, all we care about is your beautiful storyline and beautiful renders that you make.

A separate Chap 2 would be great as long as you create a transition save/file that loads in Chap 2 to keep everything the same between the Chapters.

ngl im not the biggest fan of spliting a game you have to hop from game to game to start a new route etc i hate when devs do that xD and also comes with broken save etc its cool if you can have a full version of the game with chapter 1 and 2 and so on
