react to joke by rm

JJK_OT72025

Yes please react to joke and do you by RM

Jungkook💜

React to monster by rm just to let you know monster by rm doesn’t have a mv also please react to joke by rm too that one has a mv 💜💜

C

Oh lord your analysing is always somehow so off it’s insane 😃

April Forgue

Monster one of my favorites unfortunately Joke gets recommend more because it has an mv but monster is better imo.

April Forgue

You should watch RM Indigo Filn Magazine he breaks down every song in order on his album.

Jungkook💜

Frr monster is so underrated

𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐚𝐚ఌ

My bias💜.He is such a grown ass man, and I love that. And he doesn’t hold back on anything. He let mfs know what it is and what it ain’t. And he dont give not one fuck at all. But anyways😊. Jody you should react to his songs RM ft Erykah Badu (Yun), and RM ft Anderson Paak (still life)

☾Joey

As long as yall acknowledge that there is genuine love for the fans and for each other, and that despite everything they still do treasure being a part of bts, I can’t be too mad at this interpretation lmao I really wonder what yall would think about their 2022 Festa Dinner. It’s an hour long discussion, with half of it being about them going on “hiatus” to focus on solo activities. It’s an insightful watch

Chia Sano

A good way to look at it, he is/was tired of the industry and all the extra that comes with the success. Gentle correction, RM started with poetry before he started rap. He talked about it in an interview, he loves being in BTS, his brothers, and making music but all the other stuff from popularity and industry pressure. Also, quick correction 'fireworks' and 'flowerworks' is due to the Korean words. Your interpretations reveal how new you are to the purple, but have room to grow and this is amazing to watch you all grow. He also is the one who changed Rap Monster into RM which now means Real Me. That is from him, not speculation. Good video.

Figgy

Just want to say that absolutely Army know’s what this song is about. I sometimes feel you think as a fandom we have no respect for them, but I might be wrong Jody, sorry if I am. RM quoted that it’s a desire to live like humble and tranquil wildflowers rather than a flamboyant flame that quickly blows out. The whole album is an expression of how he feels at this point in his life. RM explained each song off this album in great detail in a documentary. Every member of BTS started out just wanting to be artists. They’ve worked hard and developed a dedicated fan base which is what everyone dreams of in the beginning. But when they dropped map of the soul 7 they had a massive world tour planned and after this they were going to take a break but Covid hit. During that time they released Dynamite and they blew up bigger again. There was so much that went on after that with the Grammy’s, the whole massive debate between their label and the government about the military exemption, which went on for so long, even though they all said they were going to enlist. Speaking at The Whitehouse and United Nations, all great honours. But when you think they were just 7 guys from South Korea who wanted to sing, produce music or dance, don’t think they ever envisioned things like that and the pressure attached to it. So absolutely they need to take time out and find themselves again individually. Express themselves through their art and rediscover the reasons they chose to pursue this life. They asked Army to trust them and wait for them, which is exactly what we’re doing. If they were to never come back as a group again and remain solo artists their Army fan base would continue to love and support them. Jody do you think you could react to BTS Army by X-Celeste. It might give you anunderstanding of what 95% of Army are actually like. Rather than the 5% crazies that are out there who comment, also the other fandoms who create shit by commenting as Army.

Fifi

I always hold of on requesting that festa video to new “fans” becuz there was so much personal things talked abt in there and I’m not sure that it’s a good match someone who always kind of misinterpret most thing they put out lol. Idk

Chia Sano

*ugh, pushed enter too fast. RM has never been a fan of the 'industry' part of the music stuff. If BTS wasn't boys? Like for real, for real boyz? Like real brothers? I don't think BTS would still exist, and that is a debut day ARM saying this. They have sacrificed so much for each other and their Solo projects are always peeks into the things alot of people choose to ignore.

Lief

What I can say is that RM said his goal with this song was "the most personal message in the most universal way possible".

Lief

I'm glad you're diving into the rappers and are even open to their songs. Because I know you guys doubted if you could relate to rap in another language. I do want to credit you guys, because you seem to enjoy it so much! Our rappers are just so good.

☾Joey

True, there is definitely more backstory for them to watch before they truly understand the impact 2022 festa had. I’m just a bit inpatient for these guys to really understand the decisions bts has made as a group and as individuals lmao

Xoxoree

Another great reaction and real view point, I always say “oh to be the pen on the pad” when it comes to RM (my bias). Y’all are on the right track cause RM basically said this in festa 2022 he said that he’s afraid to disappoint Army but all he wants is that when they come back they can be who they are and be happy as individuals and as a group. Some Armys don’t like to see them act their age like these are men in their 30’s let them be!

Bernadett

Yes, there you go! I loved this reaction! First, what you said, Jody, about what a song means to different people was so educated and nicely put. Second, when you were like 'cut, youtube that shit' and then both of you had your volume up and started to shout out your true opinion! 😂 I love the song and I love the lyrics. He's poetic, he's an artist and he is deep. It must be really hard to be who they are. If you think about it, most K-pop bands go on for a few years max. BTS has been doing it for 10 years when RM came out with this song. 10 years... They have achieved so much, they have everything and more, paved the way for a whole music industry to the rest of the world and they have millions of fans for who they are and what they can do. That said, it is true: you have to give part of yourself up to be a part of a group. But that part you sacrifice, where do you put it, what do you do with it? It is sad ('mourning moon') and it must be frustrating too for an artist to not be able to be a 100% who they are. They made a choice, even if they are fire alone, 7 is a friggin' bonfire. And they love each other very much. These seven guys are exceptional and talented both alone and together. These seven guys are admirable and appreciative. This is why I'm an Army. And finally, you will see Jimin's solo (my fav is Set Me Free Pt.2), he was so different that it shocked the fans. He says all the time that he can do more and he can and will do better - but it is true for all of them. I am SUPER curious about what BTS will be like when they reunite in 2025 with all the experience of their solo works, the military and overall getting older. I can't wait. Thank you, Jody and Eman! 💜Borahae!💜

Bernadett

Intelligent Army is intelligent.

EleP

Yes so good. I would really like them to listen to the song Outro: Tear 🥺

Lief

I think RM honestly struggled a lot with the external status of BTS, even to the extend of being named diplomats and superstars... when he'd always describe BTS as seven korean boys just trying to do their best. It's the other way around, where he wants to turn fireworks of the fame, to a more soft flowerworks with a more steady position and grounded to the ground. This is my point of view and I wonder about what to recommend for you to watch. I do think you guys still miss some context of how the group is socially, culturally, economically, politically and financially positioned and how the boys usually deal with that pressure. Somehow your thoughts always lead to the boys wanting to leave the group and the company. It's right that the boys have probably considered retirement, since they've made enough money for their entire lives. But it's honestly always quite sad to see your thoughts go soooo far that way and allll the way. There's so much more to such a song and the lyrics, but it's so deep that nobody apart from RM could explain. So yes, RM spoke and explained the making of this song https://youtu.be/lRy8OYhLO-A?si=fny5nt0o2TiLn4gW . I also don't think you guys realize how much the boys share with us about the up and downs they go through, and unless you experience that transparancy and those moments yourselves then I don't know how to make you comprehend. Sadly, the boys are now in the military, so there's just no way for you to follow their realtime livestreams, content or fanletters.

Fifi

I don’t dislike these guys at all, they are entertaining to watch at times but Imma be honest here becuz they are always being honest about what they think as well. They already have a narrative. For a while now, they have continuously said the same thing about the fact that “BTS members want to go solo” or tht they are definitely not coming back together and etc, and they seem to have this idea that we just pull shit out of our ass and just say things. When a lot of us have at least seven years with these guys and with thousands of videos where the members have always told us how they felt (obviously I am aware that they don’t tell us EVERYTHING) and when we tell them this is literally what the boys mean becuz most of the time it’s things they have explained themselves somehow yet, they have their own interpretation and still think we are the ones in the wrong when they still have a LONGGGGG way to go with BTS. Idk it’s just my 2 sense. But they need to let go of that narrative that BTS members want to go fully solo before I feel they can really understand that festa video.

Ana

Loved this song soooo much RM is such and underrated king. And yeah you guys are right about the meaning. I just feel it has nothing to do with his members and army. More to do with the fame aspect and the pressure. It's super hard being an idol I don't think I could ever be one. The K-pop culture is so bad that none of these artists can be free to live and do as they please. An example is people that are not army thingking RM could stop the Palestinian genocide. Like he's just human. Also the purple flowers represent army so I feel like he's saying army has helped him and that he can fall back on us. But I would want you guys to react to his Album indigo. It's supposed to be listened to from beginning to end. So I do hope we can get the other members solo album with the lyrics reactions before in the soop. Their solos are them expressing their true selves. And you'll understand them more 💜💜💜 And yoojeen vocals 😩😩🔥🔥🔥

Jodys Corner

What happened to taking a mans words at face value. ARMY are the ones who twist words from my understanding. They don't even wanna believe that Baby Daddy is Bisexual. Its crazy

Jodys Corner

WTF!? see what I mean??? I was told from DAY ONE that RM stood for Rap Monster. And here you are, a self proclaimed BTS savant telling me something i've never heard before. Either you're wrong AF, or ARMY are a bunch of liars

☾Joey

I also believe that JM is bi (honestly it’s not even a matter of believing, it’s just whether or not u wanna accept the symbolism) HOWEVER when it comes to bts going solo, they themselves have stated time and time again that their priority is the team. They’ve stated that their solo endeavors are ultimately for the team as well (ofc personal satisfaction is a big part of it too). That’s why army are always on ur ass about saying they’re miserable with bts or that they want to disband lmao. It’s because the members themselves have disproven this narrative yall are running with

Jodys Corner

I need to watch this "Festa 2022" because its seems like ARMY doesn't want me to see the real.

Xoxoree

Yeah they got real in that one he cried hard about it too, I’ll send the link, I’m always here for the real and to bring the real

Deleah Smith

You were on point and everyone has there interpretation and I fill the more you know the boys and understand them as people not just artist you can feel what RM is saying. I cried when I first heard this because I felt what he was saying so deeply. Basically everything that glitters isn't gold and we only see and Know so much. You should watch Festa 2022 and you should watch the Rise of Bangtan you will see some of the struggle and battles. RM is an excellent Leader.

Star293

First of all Jody, why are you so aggressive in your comments to people who are paying to be a Patreon member? Secondly, clearly you didn't read the above comment which states that he chose to change the name Rap Monster, which was what RM stood for when he joined BTS, to Real Me, which he chose to change as he grew up and matured. Looks like maybe you need a bit of that maturity so that you can read before proclaiming people 'wrong AF' or 'liars' when clearly you seem to not comprehend comments. Honestly, joined the patreon to watch your journey but your arrogance and shit attitude is what makes me want to leave and will probably be the reason you lose subscribers. Maybe tone down your attitude a tad bit. Also, as everyone else has said before, you have a preset idea in your mind and refuse to acknowledge any different opinions - example 'Jimin being bisexual'. Whether he is or not is his personal choice to share, which he has not openly done yet and could be for many reasons. It is actually inappropriate for you to determine someone is when you don't know in reality.

Meelet

i was literally just thinking about recommending them the 2022 festa dinner but they still havent even reacted to the last bts live so i doubt theyll watch it

Amaricymon'e

yep v, jhope and RM acknowledged that they wanted to leave but didn't because of the members and the love they all have for the fans and each other you can find this in their interview or their platform

safiya m

You both had the gist of the meaning of the song but butchered it by bringing up bts☠️ its not bts he is tired of, its the industry and what comes with it. Korea is very very different to the US in terms of a celebrities public image etc etc. and flowerwork is actually an artistic translation of the korean word for firework! firework = 불꽃 (directly translates to fireflower). 불=fire, 꽃=flower.

Amaricymon'e

yeah true they don't get it at all but to each their own

Amanda Michelle

Jody: "He's not being direct in exactly what he's saying, but he's being VERY DIRECT in how he feels!" That sums it up right there, Jody! Very well said! I love it!!

safiya m

Jody pls.. His stage name was Rap Monster until about 2016/2017, he formally changed his stage name to RM and said it now stands for Real Me. It’s not surprising you haven't heard the “new” (not so new since its been at least 7 years since the change) meaning as he said it on online fancafe, which you had to be a fan member to have access to. I doubt new armys even know what fancafe is let alone what be said on it. but he still said it.

Melissa Torres

Usually RM goes live and tells army what the song is about..not sure if he did for this song

☾Joey

Exactly this. Being tired of feeling like a clog for a corporate machine, but not tired of being bts.

Amaricymon'e

he wont watch anything you recommend

Amaricymon'e

just watch any interview he doesn't like calling himself a monster anymore o he changed it to real me

Amaricymon'e

he doesn't want to educate himself on them he only wants his opinion and his friend

Figgy

Yeah he was originally called Rap Monster but he decided to change it after a few years. Think he kinda grew into himself, but yes he did switch his name to just RM which he said stood for real me. But he gets called Rap Monster still by some, but mostly just RM. JK still calls him Rapmon which was his nickname for him. Don’t think it truly matters what he’s called as long as it’s with respect.

Amaricymon'e

jody has his mind set up and no one here will change it unfortunately think about it he peak about toxic traits in the black community but he can't even check or let his friend know that they are ignorant we cant ask him for anything because he i okay with being complacent with thing

Amaricymon'e

read the book or watch the feta vid to learn more about tear it I about them almost breaking up not a woman

Amaricymon'e

they wont be able to handle that group dinner I hope they don't react to it

Amanda Michelle

Jody, I do think you're right in some ways with your interpretation. RM expressed that once the pandemic hit, and their concerts were cancelled, he felt like he and BTS kind of lost their footing...like he didn't know what they were doing anymore and where they should go with their music. And you're not going to like this, Jody, but those 3 English songs you love so much were NOT written by him or any other BTS member...and those songs were quite different from what BTS' music had been up to that point. Dynamite, Butter, and PTD are all great songs BUT they were used solely to cheer up the world in a time when so many people needed it. And that's fine and great! But they don't have any deep meaning or anything, and were not written by any of the members, so BTS, especially RM really began to feel like the group was just along for the ride, as in the company just had to scramble to figure out what COULD be done during the pandemic...what NEEDED to be done to help the world. And so those songs were produced and it was wonderful. But after, that, we learned how RM and some of the other members had been feeling...I think mostly they were feeling the need to LIVE LIFE. They admitted to not having any more lyrics in them, and that's totally understandable when you've barely had any breaks from work to just live life with family and friends...or to begin a romantic relationship, etc. I believe 100% that this was all they needed. And so they took about a year to produce and release solo music, spend time with family and friends, etc. before entering the military. And then they SIGNED ANOTHER 7 YEAR CONTRACT. So, there's no doubt that all the members love being BTS but they've explained that they are now entering their CHAPTER 2 which will look a little different (solo work before military, and then group work plus solo work AFTER military). I'm so happy that RM expressed his feelings so that true ARMY can understand that it's time for him and the others to grow and develop even more in their lives. And now, with all that being said, I hope you'll react to this video that gives a wonderful introduction to BTS' discography with a great explanation by the video creator. Here's the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JEM5rRjq7kc

Joanna

Jody your interpretation was making a lot of sense. I’m actually impressed that you were so quick to catch everything. There’s a huge gap between what the artist think/feels and what fans think that the artist think/feels. That’s the reality.

.

I def think yall should watch festa 2022!! Like someone else mentioned they really are just 7 boys from Korea that wanted to do music but blew up to an extreme they never expected. It’s a lot of pressure on them. Like dynamite was supposed to be something chill and easy for them but just ended up with them getting even MORE famous. That’s lowkey such a flex tho, they keep accidentally getting more successful.

.

Also Jody aside from the few shippers/solos I’ve seen on here I don’t think any armys have been lying to you. There’s just a lot of information being thrown your way so u might not catch everything or u might just get some things mixed up, but you’ve been getting correct info from patreon armys for the most part. No one is intentionally lying to yall or making things up😭☠️ trust us pls

Fifi

Yea that’s true, songs artist release are always up for interpretation and people can all take it differently….but it’s different if the artist themselves legit tell us and give us a deep dive into what the song/album is abt…which is what RM did sooo, making an interpretation when it’s wayy off what the artist themselves say it’s abt doesn’t make much sense. So JODY’s interpretation makes sense to HIM but if it’s not the reality then it’s just making up fiction at this point. RM is not all saying he is tired of being in BTS etc, and people would know that if they listen to THEM. BTS themselves over and over and over continuously mentioning coming back together, SUGA made a whole show specifically for his members I mean, if that’s a guy that wants to leave then….

Maeee

"off" I promise you, you don't know RM himself lol. You can believe whatever, but music is up to interpretation.

Bernadett

You are right. Patreon Army is good Army.

Chia Sano

Hey all, lets be sure to continue being supportive of their journey. Even when they are wrong and way off, they admit they might be but genuinely react in the moment with what they are feeling. We have to also remember that for them, their first interactions with 'army' was over on youtube with all the imposters and people who are fans but don't live by ARMY values. We have to show through our actions that those people? Are not ARMY and be patient with Jody and Eman figuring out new language to refer to that group. It is a rough time right now as a fandom as the loudest voices claiming to be ARMY are the bullies and the kpop fanatics. Be patient with the guys.

K

It did.he just grew out of it and changed the meaning what’s with the aggressiveness?

K

Unless that man comes out his mouth and says “I’m bisexual” WHY WOULD WE SAY THAT HE IS? It’s common sense.yall can investigate, pick up on clues all y’all want. But unless he comes out and says he’s bi I don’t wanna hear nb calling him it no shade.

Lief

When you watch it, keep in mind that the translation of "them taking a rest" is literally taking a rest and not breaking up. The media picked it up as "a break up" and all of the boys had to come out and speak up to say they never said break up and it is not a break up. It's just an unavoidable period of rest due to military service, and they'll use it to the best of their advantage in a great way to pursue their solo carreers too.

WittyRD

Thisss! If a definite answer doesn’t exist to a question posed, then there’ll exist several plausible answers/interpretations. HOWEVER if a formal and definite answer with tangible evidence does exist to that question; then anything contrary to that is simply put an INCORRECT opinion. There’s nothing wrong with adjusting one’s own opinions when presented with new evidence, it’s the literal definition of learning. I feel the ARMY on patreon have been especially patient and want to educate them, but I can definitely understand the frustration in these comments, cus after so many reactions and conversations we see them fall back to the same incorrect narrative about BTS secretly hating being in the band and ARMY. Smh

BettyB

Hey Jody and Eman, thanks for the honest reaction. I had some similar thoughts when this first came out, but watching a few interviews where RM discusses the song was very insightful. I think the best context would be that RM said he wrote this song about 3-4 years ago when they were run down and exhausted. Does he still feel this way today? It’s hard to know anything for sure, and I do personally believe that RM has struggled with depression a few times in his career. A bit more context - RM has historically been a big target in the industry over in South Korea. I assumed some of this stemmed from them telling him he wasn’t cut out to be an idol, he was too ugly to be an idol, he wasn’t as good at rap as other idols (a blatant lie as RM is objectively better at rapping than every single ‘idol’ in the South Korean music scene currently). ‘Don’t tell me you gotta be like someone, because I’ll never be like them.’ Another layer, maybe. It may seem superficial, but the level of hate BTS got in those early days - and the level of hate RM received personally as the leader - really affected them.

WittyRD

Yes! We also gotta remember that two things can be true at the same time! They have repeatedly said and shown that they love each other like brothers and don’t want to give up or stop being BTS! Literally every single member has said that being in BTS and the love for ARMY are their TOP priorities. They have also said that they never expected to blow up like they did, the expectations and responsibilities that come along with it are heavy, and they wanted to take advantage of this moment in their lives to explore themselves as adults, solo artists, and simple humans.

WittyRD

Yes please understand that you are reacting to over 10yrs worth of content and information! People change and information evolves. He was named Rap Monster: Fact. He changed the name to RM/Real Me: Fact. I say fact because this has evidence from RM himself. Trust that we aren’t intentionally misleading y’all. Please try to read comments throughly before replying especially if you feel heated, some peoples personalities are the quick to fly off the handle types. There will always be a layer of misinterpretation with texts/online messages so pls as a creator use caution before coming with the heat, make sure it’s deserved when you do. This was not that.

Joanna

I feel like we haven’t watch the same video. Eman said that he was hating being in BTS to which what Jody corrected him saying that he loves BTS and the Army but wanted to be himself.

WittyRD

I have to say thanks for posting the reactions! Please continue and post BTS content more often! This reaction has brought up a few repeated frustrations I noticed as I’m reading these comments. 1. The guys don’t want to leave BTS & they don’t hate being in BTS. There’s sooooo much content and documentation of every single member saying this, over and over again. Please accept what they say as fact because they are the ones saying it. 2. Their solo work, this doesn’t mean they can’t be themselves or are holding back in BTS. A group project will have a different overall vibe compared to something done alone; supreme pizza is a whole different experience than cheese pizza lol. Solo work doesn’t mean disbanding is happening, especially with BTS, they go above and beyond to root for each other as well as mention any chance they get how much they want to stay together as BTS. 3. BTS doesn’t hate ARMY, they love ARMY! Again from their own words and actions, not our own delusions. 4. ARMY isn’t inherently toxic. The fandom includes millions of people from all walks of life. Any passionate fandom that size will have trolls who intentionally antagonize people or immature fans who don’t understand respect/boundaries. These people should NOT be considered ARMY! It’s frustrating to support and pay good money in the hopes of seeing a creator discover our favorite people; then to be repeatedly insulted by saying ARMY is toxic etc… Please try to make a clear distinction between ARMY and those toxic people who don’t follow the ideals of BTS/ARMY. Stop thinking these incorrect assumptions when analyzing the music/content. Try to find other meanings. It’s perfectly fine to say “hmmm I dunno enough about this to form an opinion yet.” Ask ARMY especially in patreon for help, because any interpretation that includes these as a narrative will be incorrect. I think it’s a reasonable expectation after >85 reactions to at least acknowledge these things because they’re brought up consistently.

WittyRD

They mentioned watching the 1st episode of Rise of Bangtan but they were unsure if they were gonna post it. 😒

Figgy

He did do a documentary deep dive into each song from Indigo 💜

WittyRD

Agree with this! Innuendo and smart jokes are one thing, but to fully assign something as personal as sexuality like it’s a fact is a lot. Those kinds of statements will rub lots of people the wrong way.

WittyRD

I think it has more to do with why that’s even still a thought when thinking of meaning. Props to Jody for helping Eman along tho! Lol My response was mainly to elaborate that interpretation/opinions can only take you so far, especially if there’s plenty evidence to the contrary. So why is that still the opinion?…

Figgy

My worry is that it will now be watched specifically to find anything possible that could mean they hate being in BTS and hate their fandom. It is sadly starting to feel like this is automatically the hidden meaning of every track

Gladeez (Gladys)

This probably is why they’ll watch the Festa 2022 and future content, to try and find anything that could mean they hate being in BTS and especially hate their fandom, they’re gonna review a lot of content for that purpose now through that tainted lens of their own opinion rather than listen to the words from BTS themselves, I find it quite sad actually, I was genuinely enjoying their content, but I just feel so sad and disrespected now all the time when he talks about the bad apple who are not army and says it’s all of us, and despite us actually paying to join this platform sometimes I see Jody being so hostile towards some in the comments who genuinely mean no harm and who are answering their questions in a honest and helpful way…

Fifi

Yea but I don’t believe any of them said they wanted to leave because they didn’t really want to be in BTS anymore but rather that they didn’t imagine they would have been this famous and their fake was getting overwhelming for them, which is totally understandable.

Fifi

And there was especially a comment they made about ARMY liking BTS superficially rather than listening to what they actually say….i genuinely found that ironic that it’s him saying that 😭. Also yea I said this to another person who recommended they watch the most recent festa video and I think the same way you do. The video is such a sacred video to ARMY and was directed for us because when it first released the media already had twisted their words from that video, saying BTS said they were going on a hiatus/disbanding, when that’s not what they said. So I definitely do not want them to react to it, at least until they at least have an open mind and stop thinking all of them just want fame in their own. Yes they want to be their own person but for some reason I don’t get where they (Jody and E-man) get the idea that they can’t still be their own person while still being a part of the group…they have been doing solo work way b4 they decided to buy a little hold on group activities (especially the rappers)

Fifi

Thisss, especially what country these guys come from too, if none of them say they are most ARMY won’t go around saying he is because people lose their career in Korea if they come out, it’s happened before we have seen it. One of the first openly gay Korean celebrity came out and he lost is career for 10 years, they wouldn’t bring him on shoes etc, he had just not long ago managed to bring his career back. So yea he hasn’t actually said anything abt his sexuality so there’s no need for anyone to speculate. When he is ready he will tell us and if he never wants to tell us that is 100% fine too, he should do what’s best and safest for him.

Fifi

Yea music is up for interpretation but why interpret way off base when the man who wrote the damn song himself has done a deep explanation to f the songs on his album…? Any other interpretation different from what RM himself said is then by default incorrect.

Maeee

Because he hasn’t read the interpretation, that’s why they said it’s their interpretation and we’ll never know what it really means because we aren’t RM. I agree no matter how much they talk about the songs we’ll never know what they fully mean, and you can believe what they tell u is 100% facts and that’s fine, but some people can interpret differently and read between lines and have their own beliefs, they didn’t say for a fact this is what it’s about. People are too protective of these grown men, like they didn’t say anything negative about Rm and they are actual sentiments they’ve shared about fame, it’s not them pulling this outta nowhere. Also there’s no reason to be so condescending in ur reply lol, it isn’t a f you to the song, people aren’t gonna always agree with u

C

Not when the interpretation for literally every members solos somehow involves them wanted to leave BTS…we’ve told you a million times there’s no chance of that happening and then they openly claim army are lying to them ?? Why can’t they do their own research from the members explaining their work themselves before or straight after watching an mv if you believe army is lying , make an active effort

hallie.m

Pressed enter too early lol I love how honest you are Jody and we all love your BTS reactions. I will say that sometimes you guys tend to jump to conclusions but I do understand that its part of just having a real conversation and your interpretation of this song is good! Keep in mind you're looking back at over 10 years of content and the members are people that are constantly evolving and growing. Their whole thing and message they put out is sincerity. In almost every video/content/post they put out they remind us of their love for us and they have shown numerous times how much they find comfort in us. (before the military Jungkook literally would go live everyday sometimes at 3-4 in the morning for hours because he said he missed us lol). They also have an incredible bond that I think you guys have seen throughout the videos. Yes, sometimes it gets overwhelming because they came from such a small place and were the first korean artists to break through all these barriers. But, they are grown adults and have a lot of power in their company. If they didn't want to do this anymore, they would stop. (they almost did in early 2018 because of the pressure of the industry but came back because they enjoy their work like you guys mentioned. Going solo was a thing they did because they wanted to regain inspiration for when they come back as a group. This explanation was in the FESTA 2022 video which you guys can watch if you want but it is extremely vulnerable and includes a lot of information that right now I feel like you guys wouldn't completely understand without a lot of context. (Ofc watch it if you want it is still a great video and were not trying to keep anything from you its just such a heavy thing to watch for being kind of new to the fandom.) They will always love BTS and every member even in their solo adventures have said that their main goal is to return as 7. They even resigned a new 7 year contract recently as BTS. (BTW i saw some comments saying this but RM has a video explaining every song on his album if you ever wanted to watch that! He also did change the meaning of RM. It was before Rap Monster but then he shortened it I think around 2017 and later said in an interview that it can also stand for Real Me. He's matured and grown since he started training so that is probably why he broadened the meaning. ) Keep it up Jody! I know sometimes all the comments can be a little overwhelming but dont be afraid to ask questions and trust us! Sorry for the long comment lol

Yahel Poveda

Thanks for this message. I was actually about to write something similar because I certainly feel the same as you in many ways, and although I respect their opinions (I subscribed for a reason hehe), I'm already noticing some negative predisposition because they not seeing ALL the other raw content like weverse lives, where the boys directly gives more context of many situations in general.

WittyRD

Yea for sure. I can empathize with them tho cus it’s an overwhelming amount of content to look at and we asked for honesty. Im still appreciative of them giving us that! I just wish they would start thinking outside the disbanding box when thinking of interpretations; pressures with fame, social responsibility, lack of privacy, being idolized, and controlling kpop culture can all be interpreted in this song even without knowing RM already discussed the meaning. We may never know 100% what an artist is thinking/feeling, but if they repeatedly say something why continue to ignore that? Thats where the frustration starts.

Yahel Poveda

HI! Jody & Eman, I am a 44 year old Latina ARMY, and I really enjoy your content, because it is real and direct, and I also don't like seeing fake people or people who only look for views on their videos, so I appreciate your honest opinions. ..but you must keep in mind that many times you are judging an entire fandom of millions of people, just because a group of misplaced people who are really a minimum percentage, are the ones who dedicate themselves to being toxic on social platforms, and they They do not represent even 0.0001% of the real community, so it is not fair every time you generalize saying that "ARMY" are crazy because the real ones are not like that haha I hope you come to realize this soon..Hugs from Panamá! :)

WittyRD

Lol just realized your caption was asking if we’re sure we want REAL opinions… lol are Y’ALL sure you want REAL comments?… 👀 I sincerely hope you guys read these comments and try to emphasize with us. Let’s build a supportive community here! There’s bound to be moments where people get heated. Please continue to post BTS stuff often! 🙏🏽 The only way to truly understand is to dive in! Most of us have binged countless hours over many years, y’all have to catch up to understand lol.

Jodys Corner

All ARMY are not equal. If you aren't toxic, then i'm obviously not talking about you. There is good ARMY out there.

Jodys Corner

Trust me. There is no softness on THIS side. say what you want. You've been doing it for months now.

Jodys Corner

"Till this day I haven't seen a single effort of wanting to honestly know about the group" @Sandya Your full of S$#T.

Jodys Corner

I can see most of y'all not feeling what we had to say. Some of you even going as far as saying we don't care about BTS. I got it. Some of you have taken what we have said with stride too! I appreciate all the feedback. I haven't read all the comments yet, but I promise I will get to them all.

Maeee

What about V whooo did wanna leave BTS and has said it many times, they have wanted to leave, they’ve come back because of the team, nobody is saying they hate BTS, but being in the group is a ton of pressure and you can’t live a normal life so ofc there is gonna be days where they wanna quit and write about that pain. If you’re doing research for fun then kudos to u lmao, but not everyone is obsessed with BTS and has that much time, some people like BTS just for music and like to use songs for how they interpret them, they never stated that is what RM thought and they don’t need to know what RM actually thought, because we will never know, not u or us.

Ana

I think that's the point we're trying to make Jody. Those are not ARMY. And they don't consider themselves Army. There has been a rise with solo stans or other fandoms pretending to be army to make army look bad. In your Patreon we all consider ourselves army so when you say negative stuff. About army that kinda hurts ya know? Because we are here cuz we actually support and rock with y'all. So when you say army lies and stuff it doesn't feel good. Because we actually have been telling you the truth and upholding what BTS stands for. And know that most of the comments are not coming from a place of attack. The comments are coming with love and education 💜💜💜

Jodys Corner

I'm definitely not posting bantang ep 1 now.

Meelet

Look. i enjoy you guys reactions but sometimes its annoying when you talk bad about army or call some liars or say were wrong when 90% of us knows MUCH more about them than you. we know who they are as people much more than you. so if someone in the comments were to correct you with a fact about something you said which was wrong, its frustrating when you dont believe us just because you 100% believe your theories. and then that one odd person wants to meat ride and you like their comment besides the one actually validly correcting you. We know allot of things because we do our research, and we just correct you. but you guys would know allot more about the guys if you were more consistent which is another thing i want to get into. PLEASE upload more consistently. its frustrating when you go days without posting on here but post allot on your main youtube page. and yeah some people do lie in the comments, but those aren’t armys, those are either solo stans or antis of certain members and they’ll make up almost anything to bring down members or put up the ones they like. but it seems like you cant telk the difference between them and army. i really do enjoy your reactions and thoughts about things, its just when you seem like you cant admit to being wrong when we correct you about something and the time we have to wait to get a new reaction is frustratingg.

Jodys Corner

Thank you, Hallie. I needed to read that. I have learned a very important lesson.

Jungkook💜

I know this isn’t about namjoon but I just thought I would let yall know that taehyung just drop a new song called fri(end)s 💜

VancityGal

I love your videos, I really do and have always championed you having a right to your opinions. This is the respect Army gives. However, please 🙏🏽 take to heart that it hurts our feelings when you say things like Army are crazy. We all understand that you’ve been exposed to toxic individuals on YouTube that mascaraed as Army but they are a very small but loud segment of a fandom that the vast majority of us don’t fuck with. Of course they’re gonna lead you astray. I know you don’t mean us when you say that but we all consider ourselves proud Army and it doesn’t feel good. I’m hoping the more you delve into the content the more you’ll understand who BTS and Army are to each other. The majority of Army are intelligent people who know what the boys have been through and are not oblivious to the unfair constraints put on them. We don’t like it but understand that it’s a complex system that is not always fair or kind to idols. Would there be backlash if RM was 100 percent himself? Yes, we know that. They are constrained in some ways. We hope this will change as time goes on but are very grateful that they choose to still stay together for each other and for us. I appreciate some of your insights on this song and hope you keep on learning more. I also hope you can trust us here that we are trying to guide you out of care and not misguided delusion.

WittyRD

Would y’all consider rewatching it and posting that? We understand it’s a redo but we REALLY REALLY want to see y’all’s reaction. Keep the series on patreon only. Im very curious to see what parts of the episode you see in a new light after this comments conversation. Maybe y’all went on rants lol and are worried we’ll kill ya in the comments over it; a rewatch is a great opportunity to be more intentional with your words so you won’t get misunderstood. 🙏🏽 Pretty Please! 🥺 Rise of Bangtan is such a core piece of AMRY lore lol! 💜

Figgy

Thanks for promising to read all the comments. If you get time during your day could you also rewatch your reactions to Agust D and Car Pool Karaoke in private or with Eman and try and look at it from our perspective and how we might feel there is a pattern forming? We might be wrong, but it might help you understand our thinking too. I can’t speak for everyone but I don’t want you to stop reacting and will continue to support you on Patreon. But maybe as a family of reactors and supporters we can reboot and continue on the journey together. What might help us all is for you to watch a few videos as normal and give us your raw reactions. But then follow it up with an explanation video afterwards. That way you also get a different perspective that isn’t from us Army, so you don’t feel we are correcting you or disagreeing. DKDKTV are brilliant, they do this for so many K-pop groups so not BTS biased at all. A great one for you to start with could be Agust D Daechwita, the song is fire and you will love the video with your anime background. The link for the explanation video is https://youtu.be/JayEtmyXVpo?si=iPDwja-lCxMKSTep Also did you see yourself on X? In case you didn’t here’s the link, might make you smile 💜🫶💜 https://x.com/jiminbyheart/status/1766473407690949105?s=61&t=tw7Nn7qJcIzZpm4Yt11ZBw

Flowerworks is a beautiful play on words because the Korean words for Fireworks translates to Fire Flowers. The fireworks that came second, the ones coming down from cords are traditional Korean fireworks, I love them so much. I love that he compares success to fireworks up in the sky, but he wants to be on the ground with the wildflowers. I think you would love his song Closer off this album. They used it for a movie that looks really good called Decision to Leave and RM said he’s seen it like 3 times. Ty guys!

I make excuses for Army, and sometimes I am embarrassed to say I’m Army because I’m worried people will only see the toxic fans, and not me. My excuses are that the really vicious ones are too young to be on the internet without supervision. They are probably bullies at school, or they are being bullied themselves and feel better being aggressive and mean on the internet. Also, many don’t speak English and using google translate comes off harsher especially if their culture is more straight forward with criticism. The older ones hate their lives and don’t have much of a voice, except on the internet. Then there are the fake army who thrive on reaction channels. Lots of excuses right? I am here for the music and the personalities of the boys. It is my hope that those people finally feel the music and message of BTS and start being nicer people. Most of us pay our yearly fee to Weverse $22 for Army membership and to get access to content first before it hits the internet. Hybe and BigHit weed out anyone being mean by blocking and sometimes pressing charges. So the company and Bts are very aware of toxic fans but maybe they feel the same as me, those people need Bts most of all. There are bad fans in every fandom, bad people in schools, in church, at work right? We just create our own safe spaces which is why I’m here, on Patreon but I do feel bad when people make general statements about Army, because hello, I’m right here.

Jodys Corner

You have been NOTHING but supportive, sweet and caring! I see you.

Linda C.

I think if it wasn’t such an Army piece of lore, they would watch it. The creator of the series was so fair and professional in making it and so NOT their image of Army but they are biased against it now. Bighit would have taken it down by now if it wasn’t factual, and I’m sure the boys have seen it and if even one of them didn’t like it, it would be gone. I rewatched the first episode and honestly couldn’t see what they were upset about. I often recommend the first couple episodes to people who don’t know Kpop, because it gives a little history and also shows how Bighit was better to Bts than other labels were, allowing them to write and produce was huge back then. I love that the series had a lot of clips of news from back then that isn’t easy to find. I thought the guys would like it because of the behind the scenes, and they liked AHL, but something about it spooked them, so I’m sad.

Fifi

I didn’t mean to put and “f” there. The sentence is supposed to say “has done a deep explanation of the songs on his album”

BF3

I love that you loved this song! It’s so beautiful and Youjeen has a phenomenal voice! I agree that songs are usually made to be up for interpretation for the listener - but that’s usually for the listener to interpret the song for themselves and their own lives or emotions. Being able to create a song that others can apply to their own life and feelings to connect to and heal themselves with/from is something BTS and the guys are truly amazing at doing. I don’t think it’s really for the listener to decide the feelings or meaning for the artist tho - that’s for the artist themselves to decide and the listener has to trust what the artists tells us (in interviews or in lives) the song is about or their own feelings. I think y’all are getting a lot of heat bc it can come off as you are saying that’s how the guys feel without actually hearing it from the guys themselves (which is something I think a lot of new bts listeners do honestly). there are a lot of good veteran Army on your Patreon who give good guidance and provide links/facts that came from the guys themselves. I would trust those Army (i understand YouTube Army can be hard to trust bc you don’t know if they are new, antis, or just talking out they ass lol). But most of us have consumed YEARS worth of content from BTS and watch/read content on a daily basis - so I promise we are not misleading you. We just want to try to help you understand what we know from the source itself - bc the guys are from an entirely different culture and all of us had to navigate that in the beginning which took time and we all made mistakes or misinterpreted things along the way, that’s just natural. I’ve been Army since 2017 and consumed probably 90% of the content (a lot I rewatch just for more context or thru reaction channels) and I truly hope you come to trust those of us who wish to guide you in the right direction. We love the guys but we also respect them and their peace, their personal lives and thoughts, we respect their autonomy like we would want others to respect ours. We go off what the guys tell us DIRECTLY from the tens of thousands of hours of content they have over 13 years. To put in perspective the content: Run BTS show 156 episodes; Summer/Winter/Seasons Greetings 2014-2022; In the Soop two seasons; Bon Voyage S1-4; Documentary series - Break the Silence, Burn the Stage, Bring the Soul, Beyond the Star; Musters 2014-2021; Festa 2014-2022; Fanmeetings; 10 years of global Concerts where there are interactions and speeches from the members; 10 years worth of lives talking to Army directly 300-400; behind the scenes of MVs; Bangtan Bombs since 2013; interviews with press, magazines, award shows, tv shows, Sugas show Suchwita WHICH I HIGHLY RECOMMEND lol, etc; Twitter posts since 2013; fan cafe posts; IG posts since 2021; Weverse posts; Memories 2014-2021; I’m sure I’ve missed something lol. But when we say they documented almost EVERYTHING we mean it. Each thing is something different with content (some is a dvd fans can buy for behind the scenes of an event/concert/random shit that year). There’s so much that a lot gets lost, especially the stuff that isn’t free. But the key point is that each content gives a glimpse of the members mindset, feelings, personality and so on AT THAT TIME (which means it’s subject to change/evolve). With their own words. Most of us have seen these and that’s the information we are relaying to you 💜 I hope any of this helps. Most of us just love the messages, positive impact, and real emotions the band brings to the world and we want others to see that and not get Lost in the “lights” of misinterpretation 💜💜 I hope y’all like In the Soop when you start 🥰 Idk why this turned out so long 😭😭 sorry. If anyone made it this far you are both insane and amazing, ily, borahae, apobango, you nice keep going 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

Jodys Corner

Read all of this! You explained way army gets upset at me in GREAT detail. I thank you gor that! Truly!

Linda C.

If you watch it, you should also find the lives the members did right after. They were really emotional and afterwords the media took the word hiatus and ran with it because in the US when a band says hiatus, they break up. In Korea they use it to mean pause, like for military service but they couldn’t say anything about the military yet and the govt was debating whether to exempt but they had already decided to go but couldn’t say. They were also worried about presenting solo work. My biggest takeaway was that RM was exhausted being the leader.

BF3

I’ve been watching reactors to bts since I started my journey and I promise each and every channel gets haters - people out there are just miserable for any reason. You guys are really cool and I can tell you like the guys and their content, which is why I stay and enjoy y’all reacting. Everyone will have a different take on things 💜

WittyRD

Yea when they mentioned they weren’t gonna post it I went back to rewatch it and couldn’t really find anything too controversial. Maybe the discussion of the training system including kids and the toxic working hours? They did mention something about V not being there; maybe they incorrectly assumed we lied to them? But we all know the guys go on tangents and jump to conclusions lol. It’s honestly to be expected 😅 we’re still here for it tho! Thats why I suggested a redo so they could react to it in a new light.

.

These comments… Jody I understand you clapping back at ppl being rude(freak them), but you’re being rude to ppl who are commenting things nicely. We pay to watch you bc we genuinely like your reactions and personality. We always want your real opinion but we also want to give you our real opinions without you thinking that we’re coming from a place of hate. The comments aren’t always gonna be on your side, that doesn’t make us crazy or toxic, we’re just being honest. I hope you don’t feel too discouraged by the rude ppl bc at the end of the day they are the ones paying $10 a month to watch you and keep coming back so you’re clearly doing something right

Jodys Corner

How am I being rude? When did I ever say anything disrespectful or rude on this thread?

.

Example: the girl that commented about rm meaning real me and your response as well as a few other responses. Idk how her commented warranted that response, maybe I’m just soft idk🤷🏾‍♀️but I see u just uploaded so I’m gonna mind my business now and enjoy the content🤝🏾💜

Jodys Corner

Tight! What about that response was "rude?"

VancityGal

That's a really cute X post. Thanks for responding with such kindness. 💜

Jodys Corner

(0),(0) I still feel the same way about Army. you knew about festa 2022 when you wrote this to me.

VancityGal

I'm so genuinely confused. I've supported you guys and agreed with a lot of what you guys have said since the beginning. And I stand by this comment. I know they can't be themselves completely but it doesn't mean I don't want them to be able to, just like you. What did I say here that conflicts with what you said in the 2022 festa video? I agree, they can't be themselves. RM can't be 100 percent himself. I never denied any of that. It's not because that's what I want. I don't want to put him in a box but the system and a segment of the fanbase want it that way. I'm not unaware or delusional about the behind the scenes constraints. And i never told you otherwise. This song is very much about the fact that he feels trapped with a mask on. I believe fake love is also about the mask they put on to fit what the system wants. I think RM has at least gotten to get some of his frustration out through his solo work. But please don't put me in the category that doesn't recognize how fucked up their situation is. I do. I just choose to support them and believe their words no matter what. And I do wish you would have talked about your true feelings on it after the festa video but I understand you don't want the backlash.

Jodys Corner

You took what i said in this video as personal attack when you know we are talking about toxic army. You should never heave felt this way unless...

VancityGal

But you don't say toxic Army, you just say Army. And as much as we may know you're not referring to us, you're not differentiating either. You can only hear these things so many times before it starts to bother you. And, I wasn't trying to come at you. I really did have the intention of just creating a happy community on your page. It would be great if you could refer to them more as toxic army. But, I don't want to try and police your speech, so, just think of it as a kind request. I won't bring any of this up again.
