This "party" was right after the news that they were going to do military service, there wasn't much information, no dates were known or anything, so for us who were distressed about this moment, it was very important and in a way brought comfort. *sorry, i dont really remember if was right after the news, but was a period that everyone was speculating that (english its not my first language)

Kimberley

All of them were stressed, especially RM. It was at the point they all had decided to join the military, they were broken hearted they had to take the break but, knew they needed the break and it help them all grow.

.

This was before, military news was told to us after their busan concert

Ana

Yeah, i realized after, i watched once

Laurynn Coleman

I know you guys said you weren’t sure if you wanted to upload this, but I’m thankful you decided to anyways. I haven’t watched yet but I have always been an advocate for you to watch direct content from BTS and come to your own conclusions bc at the end of the day, none of us FULLY know what was going on during this time in their lives.

safiya m

you guys jk was the last one to debut solo😭 icl im giggling along with yall when u say that jk is chilling bc hes got smth out soon but that defs was not the case, he didnt start working on golden till mid 2023. when this was filmed, namjoon and hobi had their solo albums well underway

Jodys Corner

RM was streesed TF out. Rapline seems underutilized to me

Melissa Torres

RM and Suga were the underground rappers not jhope..jhope learned to rap when he joined BTS with the help of RM n Suga..jhope was an underground dancer

Keyz J.

It's them stating that they were burned out and needed time apart to discover themselves so that when they come back together they can be even better than before...keep in mind that is is before any military announcements. The things that they "weren't able to tell us" ..I guess we'll never truly know exactly what they meant by that....but this conversation is one they've had together privately before. I don't know what there is to be still confused about, they stated very clearly...they were burnt out from the group activities and had nothing really to say anymore...so they need to go off on their own for a little bit to live life, and experience things to create an even better synergy for when they returns a group.

Keyz J.

Jimin literally says..."We can't tell you guys everything directly, but if you could take our words as they are, that would be great"...... it's evident that they're never going to be able to tell us everything..no artist is ,but he literally asking you to take his words for what they are....not being like " he said this, what he really meant is this"...This is them being as openly raw and honest as they can be whilst letting us know that theres some shit that u just can't know..and we have to accept that.

Jodys Corner

I agree with everything you said until you compared them to every artist. American artists speak way more freely than BTS is "Allowed" to. That's a fact.

Maeee

Yeah lmao take everything army say with a grain of salt. Before I really liked BTS ppl kept saying all BTS love songs are about army and nonsense like that, which obvi isn't true

Jodys Corner

I like how you leave out that they said they "Can't" tell us stuff. Then say "I don't know what there is to be still confused about, they stated very clearly" That is contradictory af

Keyz J.

American artist can most definitely speak more freely than bts or kpop artist, but when there are deep issues whether it be with a company, label, or even personal ..there are some things as fans that they just can't or won't tell us....this isn't exclusive to BTS.

Keyz J.

Surely Beyonce has issues that she deals with...she's not sitting and expressing those issues to her fans...yes she can express certain things ,but most shit we as fans will never have any clue about and that's just the way that shit goes. BTS especially give us so much of their lives as artist and as people, having to keep certain shit under wraps is just a given.

Keyz J.

It's not ....Not being able to tell us certain things is a given , They're literally telling us what they can and asking us not to jump to conclusions, and the very first thing you guys seem to do is jump to a conclusion.

Keyz J.

I literally think your "confusion" is coming from the conclusions and theories that you guys come up with when you're watching these videos.

Kimberley

I think they hadn't officially enlisted yet that's what they meant by stuff they can't tell us about.I think they were also worried that the stock prices would tank.

Samara Adorno

About Jin, he will be the last to release his solo album because after this bts festa he would be the first to go to the military in a few months later. Now that he has finished his military service, he is recording numerous content, including his album. He also talked about wanting to act, because he graduated in that field, but ended up joining BTS while he was doing his degree.

Chia Sano

This was their announcement that they were going to start working on solo-things and were planning to take a break from group activities so they could heal and grow. The thing that they couldn't tell us, and they already knew at this point was their plan to go to the military. And Jin was the first one to enlist so him being quiet and not adding much kinda surprised people when they watched the video but after the Busan concert and the announcement dropped? We understood. But they were pretty clear in communicating their burn out. BTW, Festas are a yearly like celebration/dinner they have to celebrate their anniversary as a group.

Keyz J.

At this point they clearly already decided that they were going to enlist and not wait on the government to hang it over their heads anymore , but we as fans had no clue what was going to happen yet. We were all still hoping that they were going to be exempt.

Aicha Karamoko

I like your honesty💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

Mazouri Beasley

Yeah this Festa is heavy tbh I don't blame you but it still sucks a little bit that you guys really don't fool with army but I definitely understand and and I appreciate how you guys gave bts a chance anyway alot of people dont do that:) i think army have a great side and considering how big army is its common to meet the bad apples i just hope you guys know there are plenty army out there and the toxic ones don't equal all i would love to see more Jin content even if it's a silly compilation or a song etc but thanks for this Jody, eman, kion i really appreciate the opinions even if I don't agree with all! God bless 🙏

hallie.m

just to give a little context on timing: this was June of 2022 - After IN THE SOOP s1 & 2, soon after their 2nd Grammy performance, and after PTD/Butter. October of 2022 is when they had their last Group concert and announced that Jin would be starting his military service soon (this meant that the rest of the members would follow soon), so then he releases his solo, and Jhope went in March of 2023- Are you Sure and everything with the other members solos was filmed in 2023

Chia Sano

Also, I think Jimin was very deliberate when he made the distinction between ARMY and Our Army is very important. It made alot of people upset when he said that, but I am glad he said it. Even Tae mentioned 90% of their fans would understand, that was also very telling.

Maeee

Agree with Jody on V for the most part

Zaria Weber

Please tell your friend on the left that this is right before Jin went to the military so he didn’t have time to basically put music and content out there like everyone else, because he was at the age (30) that they had to enlist to the military , so it wasn’t like he was just being lazy and not doing anything. It was just the fact he didn’t have the time because he went to the military that winter. But now that he is out, he’s putting out so much content, he got his own variety show Run Jin. He’s currently working on his album. He was the torchbearer at the Olympics. So my boy is working now, but I’m not like trying to put words in his mouth or anything, but just giving him an update on what was happening with Jin at this time.

luna

Jodys Corner

Exactly. They know they have toxicity in the fandom who call themselves "real army" .... I felt good knowing that they knew there are levels to this fandom.

Jodys Corner

100! I can't in good faith identify as ARMY, BUT, Maybe I am "Our Army" like baby daddy said.

Jodys Corner

So yiu believe that when Jimin said "we can't tell you everything" you thought he meant their enlistment?

Chia Sano

I also think people need to let ya'll get caught up as you get to know the group and the guys. You all became fans after they started to heal so you all are going to go through the same hurting seeing them hurt as other people did when they saw it for the first time. I get so frustrated with some people in your comments like, we know they are doing better NOW. We know they are sharing more and showing and glowing and growing, NOW. It is in the past for those of us who were there for that. That was a process and you all are learning more about it and if you all didn't actually care about them, you wouldn't be effected like you are. So I want you all to know, from a Debut day ARMY, the ones that existed before there was an official fandom name and still don't eff with most modern day ARMY, you all are seen, heard, and appreciated.

Jodys Corner

American artists speak very freely on deep issues all the time. It why we are American. It's in our constitution. "President bush doesnt like black people!" - Kanye West.

luna

Chia Sano

I'm trying to also be careful what I put in your comments. I should have been clearer because I know you deal with alot of contradictions in your comments. I should have typed 'included their plan to go to the military'. The world only officially even knew about that AFTER that was announced later on that year. But keeping it 100. That's not the first thing that popped in my head. I did know that they were announcing their break, because that's what they said. During the festa, I knew they were going through hell with their government and social stuff. When I first heard it, I was just hopeful that whatever they weren't telling us that they had the support to get through it and that they had space to heal.

Jodys Corner

I seek truth and understanding. I don't run from it. Being a grown up makes us deal with things we might not want to.

Jodys Corner

You think they would have come this far for free?! Wow

Maeee

Ahh I genuinely wish Y'all could say more, bring back critical thinking and discussions in fandom spaces! I 100 percent understand why u guys don't want to though. It's not even just army, any large fandom has a "right" way to fandom and if u disagree than you're toxic and a "hater." It's just sad how social media has ruined what could've been an enhancement to fandom culture.

Jodys Corner

You're so freakin' right! I wish more fans were like you.

Keyz J.

Kanye West has broken down and said alot...that has nothing to do with the artist of today. Sure people have had mental breakdowns and exposed things...but american artist aren't going around spilling single detail of their life and career to their their fans...they're just not.

Sora

Lol the jin shade smh, he putting out good content and videos you can see his personality and strengths. I'd love more of his content whether it's his recent videos or his singing compilations(he really be shining in their japanese songs). I loved the reaction💜 Some Army can be difficult to vibe with, I understand. Still I appreciate your reaction and your point of views. I hope you still keep making videos and react to more of their live songs -with love from an ARMY💜💜🍀

Jodys Corner

Oh, i feel you. I understand what you meant to say now. Question: when did the Ferry tradegy video drop? Was that in 2022?

Amanda Michelle

Thanks, Jody, for uploading this. It IS painful to watch but I love that they were as real and open as they could be. I think the main thing that bothered them, like RM said, "we don't want to disappoint any of you." Every artist worries that if they slow down, they'll lose their audience. I wish you guys had gone ahead to watch the MV "Yet to Come," because RM mentioned that he said everything he wanted to say in the lyrics of that song...to help ARMY better understand what their plans are for the future. Anyway, please react to "Yet to Come" when you get a chance. :) Love you guys and appreciate your honest reaction! <3

Chia Sano

Spring Day? That came out in 2017. (Side note: I will DM the article/info on how their break was really supposed to happen back in 2020 after a world tour but the pandemic threw everything off)

Amanda Michelle

Right!?! I don't get why someone wouldn't watch this entire BTS dinner all the way through! Like, do you want to understand them and know their hearts or not? I certainly would rather hear it from the horse's mouth than just hearsay.

Amanda Michelle

Boy, Keon was on Jin's NECK today! Y'all really should react to his solo stuff. He honestly has an amazing voice. So full of emotion and he's known for having one of the steadiest voices in live performances. For many years, it was unfortunate that he didn't get as many lines in songs as some of the other members but that started to change in their later music. But for real, check out Jin's solo stuff: "Epiphany," "Awake," "Yours," "Moon," "Abyss," "Tonight," "Epiphany, the DEMO VERSION." OMG! the demo version is fucking AMAZING! He's definitely a ballad singer. Just trust me and listen to these songs. They are some of the most iconic BTS ballads you won't be able to get out of your head, they're so good! Here's a link to a bunch of his songs: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VnJSUmFPG2M

WittyRD

Lol yes this was funny to me too cus sometimes they remember half of a fact and run with it. 😅 JK even said on his Suchwita episode that he was just enjoying being lazy and random. Lol the guy would go live at 3am to cook noodles just cus or randomly go live in the middle of the workday and sing karaoke. 😂. He was straight chillin while everyone else was working on music. All the songs on Golden were written for him, I don’t even think they started work on “Seven” at that time.

safiya m

yeah he didnt start working on golden until after seven. and jk is the loudest about being a bts member☠️ he always brings up bts and how he cant wait till 2025. theres the 1 billion bts related tattoos also

WittyRD

Also a random comment because y’all also noticed Jimin got all red on “Are You Sure”. There’s something called the Asian Flush Syndrome. People with certain East Asian genetic traits often have trouble metabolizing alcohol, the body releases excess Histamine. They get very red, hot and itchy. You can also see Suga’s neck is very red there too. It’s completely harmless but very annoying. It’s just a common East Asian genetic trait like the monolid eyes or not producing underarm odor etc.

WittyRD

My personal opinion is that the money definitely made living together easier. It’s a fact of life money does solve many daily/practical problems. However the money also gives them more opportunities to be independent; any one of them could literally up and leave the shared house to go live in a luxury condo but they stayed because they valued the brotherhood. They weren’t being obligated to live together but they recognized it was better for the team and more efficient. Now after 10 years with the break coming and at their ages it was the perfect time to explore their own adult homes.

Galiaa

Naaaah guys you really underestimate Jin alot!!! He didn’t have a time to release his solo album he had to enlist to the military he only dropped a single “ THE ASTRONAUT” and now after he finished the military he is working on his solo album . He is more than handsome and funny he is so talented you guys have to check more Jin content!!

WittyRD

American culture around free speech is unique in a similar way that Korean culture is focused on tradition and being polite. American and western artists are more free to say whatever pops into their heads; and it’s up to that specific artist to show discretion or be extra private. Whereas in Korea it’s the opposite. The general consensus is that Idols need to be perfect, polite and respectful at all times; and its up to the particular artist to find tactful ways to push boundaries and speak out. It’s unfortunately a cultural difference that plays a major role in everything they do. Personally I wouldn’t say they have strict gag orders or are being overly controlled, otherwise they wouldn’t have renewed contracts at Hybe. I think they’ve just grown up in that culture so they understand the thinking and they’re also smart enough to know what kinda things can be said straight forward and what needs to be delicately handled. Cultural nuance.

Xoxoree

Some things that were missing that y’all didn’t catch was them not being able to talk about how the government was looking into not sending them to the military at all and all the controversy surrounding that. I’m glad you got to see as much of the real as they could put out and they got together and did a free concert (on Amazon Prime Video) a few months later and then Jin had to leave for the military (y’all should watch the official enlistment videos on the BTS channel) But Suga has a show where he sits and drinks with people in the industry including all of the members (episode 8 with their little brother group is my favorite) it’s a good time Also Jin slander is crazyyy😂😂😂 my boy really be singing for real. I suggest listening to these songs. Awake, Moon, Epiphany, and Abyss❤️

Zenabu

The rapline is the backbone of the entire group yet they're also the least popular members, it's crazy. You mentioned how the members kept saying they couldnt tell us everything they want to, and while they certainly cant, theres one song in specific they have that reveals more than any other song in their entire discography. Check out "Outro: Her." Each rapper has a verse talking about how they really feel taking off the idol mask, Suga even talks about how he feels wearing makeup and having to quit XX (implied to be smoking). It's a hidden gem for sure

.

Thanks for posting this, I really enjoyed yalls reaction!! ngl they said to take their words as they are and yall did everything but that but it made it an entertaining watch Kion after Jimin just said take our words for what they are: “So this is what he’s telling you”☠️☠️☠️☠️

.

V was not capping when he said 90% of their fans would support them. Armys seriously support them through anything, even when they shouldn’t and it’s honestly a lil concerning. But even now with them solo and doing what they want there’s been nothing but support. The things yall think we would be upset about or bash them over are embraced enthusiastically (cursing, dancing with women, wanting to start families) when they posted this festa video there was nothing but support from their fans. They have theee largest fan base so that 10% that take an issue with everything is LOUD.

VancityGal

Kion!! Why you gotta be on my boy Jin's ass like that????? And, Jody, you guys need to watch more Jin content. He is not just "there". 😂 He often doesn't get a lot of lines in BTS songs but if you go to the B Sides, unit songs and his solo songs you'll see he really does have a wonderful voice with a ton of emotion. I also believe he has the widest range in BTS. Some will argue that it's V but I think Jin Takes the cake there. Check out songs like Crystal Snow, House of Cards, Awake, and Your's. He is a powerful balladeer and actually is super popular in Japan (second largest market). His voice is also super stable live (second to JK). He is also actually a really good actor and plays the main character in the BU storyline. Every member brings a lot to the table and poor Jin just wanted to relax for a few weeks playing video games before enlisting in the real army. Shame on you, Kion. 😂💜

VancityGal

I agree with a lot of your observations in the video guys. Thanks for putting it out. I just wish that just like BTS you could have been full honest with your opinions. i do understand your negative view of Army and it bothers me but I've come to accept it based on the experience you've had and are having. I don't see it that way though. I think internet troll space is a lot different than the real world. I'm glad Jimin called out the toxic aspect of the Army cuz at that time the media and toxic fans were misinterpreting their intention, saying they were breaking up. I'm not impervious to these people existing and in large part are responsible for why they can't tell us much more than they did in this video. But trolls on the internet or solo stands or whatever don't constitute how real world people (who aren't unhinged) feel. I see army from all over the world trending Suga's songs to protect and support him. Those are the real fans and by the numbers we are significantly more than the toxic ones. It may not be 90 percent but a huge segment of the fans will support them no matter who and what they are. I know they can't express themselves fully because of the industry and the fans that ARE toxic, but most of us truly wish they could and have supported them in whatever they have chosen to show us. Just my stance on it.

Lief

So good that you chose to share it with us 🤍 I also see that this festa must've brought you guys a step closer to the boys too. Like hearing them share a bit of their dark side, something you guys have been speculating on for a long time. So that's so good. We always only catch snippets of the dark side, like in documentaries and sometimes the boys will talk shortly about it or write a letter. The festa was a special moment because so many feelings had accumulated for such a long time, and they really had to make a full stop and start over. In the reply of this comment I'll write some things to add more context of what was happening at the time!!

Lief

Jin's album is coming this year!! I hope you get Kion there to prove his ass wrong hahahahah. Jin's just good, and after hearing his music, you can't look down on him anymore. Time will tell 🤭

Lief

You guys already figured it out yourselves, but when BTS did dynamite/butter/permission to dance, it was like full-on simple pop. Which was unlike what BTS had ever done before. Before, a lot of people and even fans saw BTS as this underdog indie experimental low key hiphop music sensation. And after (since 2020), there was a lot of talk about how the boys betrayed their own image and became shallow. Ofcourse it was also welcomed by a lot of succes and new fans. But I believe RM keeps up to date with twitter/online, so he must've seen the online discourse of the people that spoke down on BTS for becoming shallow pop artists. It's so heartbreaking. Because those pop releases brought so much joy and succes, but I think the boys didn't fully get to enjoy it. (Each of them is different ofcourse, but in this festa it became clear that RM struggled in that era).

Lief

One of the many topics they couldn't be honest about, was the military. I wrote something about this before. But during the festa dinner, BTS was keeping quiet on the military issue. The public, media and politicians were all arguing about BTS going to the military. The whole country was tapping in on the discussion. In "Mini Moni Music", RM also opened up about the time, where even people at the next table in a restaurant were having an argument about BTS' military without knowing RM was sitting there. It must have been very tiring. The boys had to keep dead silent because of how heated the issue was. They could never say they'd want an exemption, even if they did want to. I believe they did try to talk with the county to try and make it happen (A few weeks before festa, HYBE invited some politicians to their office, to discuss exemption). But it just was too much of a controversy, and the country couldn't make a decision (I will never fully understand, but I guess it's just an important topic in Korea). Later, some of the boys have mentioned that just before the festa dinner they collectively decided to fullfill military enlistment. Later in October 2022, after they finished all the work they had as a group, they posted an official announcement. But before that time, the boys kept dead silent, because otherwise all their remaining schedules and performances would be ruined/overtaken by talking about going to the military. It'd cause too much of an uproar if they posted the announcement at an earlier time.

Lief

Some others also mentioned, but after the festa dinner, the media went on a roll announcing BTS were breaking up. The boys chose their words so carefully and had such a long and in-depth conversation. But the next week the headline of Billboard news, BBC, CNN, TMZ, Fox News, and all show news was "BOYBAND BTS BREAK UP" and comparing them to One Direction. It was so annoying honestly, it was so stupid. Several of the boys, Jungkook, RM, V, all checked in and made announcements again, that they were not breaking up, it's just time apart and they already had group plans for 2025. RM wrote a very long letter (I can link it to you if you'd like). Normally a 3 year break is nothing in the music industry, but somehow people like to sensationalize everything around BTS because it gets a lot of clicks and attention. It really goes to show why BTS have been so careful about this topic and why they held in for so long. Like RM said I can't just post on my instagram story "I'm going solo".

Jodys Corner

I dont believe the actual number is anywhere near 90% of the fandom. I think its closer to 50% and thats being generous. In my experience, its more like 70% of Army are off the rails and delusional. Tina was right about that. But you misunderstood why i called V out for BSing (capping). He was playing a role when he said that about 90% the fans understanding. His BTSV mask was still on. That is why Jimin had to check that BS he was trying to spit. Jimin was not having it at that dinner. Jimin made sure he told the truth on that matter. V was tryna spew the same ol PC nonsense that they tell army to keep them happy, but that wasnt flying today.

Jodys Corner

We did exactly that. You just don't want to accept the truth. When kion said "this is what he is telling you" was based off jimin's words. Also, lets not pretend that they arent relying HEAVILY on "Our Army" reading between the lines. Using their words, but knowing what those words mean. "We need a break from each other" means im tired of being around you mofos all the time. I wanna be with other people, other friends, my family etc.

Jodys Corner

I challenge it being the closest relationship with the fans when they can't express to the fans how they really feel because they know they will go ham if they do. It took RM crying and living in creative hell for this to happen. Only when they coukdnt hide it anymore did they speak on it. And 99% of Army never seen it coming. But they know them so well. Why was Army so shocked? I seen they were struggling in RMs MV, but "army" said I was wrong.

Nicole♡♡

Im so glad y'all talked about this i have been an army for so long and can 100% say you are right and i can't stand those crazy fans that call themselves armys because they don't understand that they are some grown mf not some little kids 😤 because of fans like that so many ppl hate bts because the fans didn't help them learn and hated them instead... although jin is not really a star in the group in your eyes he's really amazing and wouldn't need a job lol his family is quite wealthy

Jodys Corner

This is what I mean. Delusion. They are together because they were paid. As a group. AHL wouldnt happen if there was no money in it. Run bts, all the shows, etc. They are real friends, but MONEY is what kept them together to even form those bonds in the first place. Sure they dont need the money now, and look what happened. They're leaving their shared house. I guarantee you this: if BTS were broke, they would never have left their housing together. They would have shut up and dealt with the drama and pain of living together for the check. BangPD knows what he is doing. Money makes mofos get in line. Money silences people. BTS are rich now, so they no longer need BangPD, Hybe or anyone else except "our army" so thats why we have seen so many changes. RM is DONE in "in the soop S2" and we can obviously see it. Most "army" had no idea RM was suffering.

Jodys Corner

You are they army they are afraid of. "Jimin wasn't uncomfortable" "They are not afraid to say what they want" - BS "You take it as a bad thing and think they are underutilized" Bruh, are you even listening to what RM said!? He is in hell! He cant be himself. My god, he was right. Even when he cries out y'all still dont see! He said they want me to be this "Rap Machine" and the "translator" while Jimin, Jkook, and V are the dancing stars. and he even said he "lost his identity(or similar word)" and you still capping and twisting his words up. He said he doesnt even know why he was making music. Man, I feel bad for BtS.

Jodys Corner

I can give you a list of 10 -20 artists atvthe top of their game that speak how the feel on deep issues. When George Floyd died, many of our celebrities criticized the govt, police and the whole system. PUBLICLY

Jodys Corner

I feel you. I can tell that the fake army frustrates you too.

.

Idk how much you interact with armys outside of your channel and patreon but it’s definitely 90%. Most of the fandom being off the rails is cap. You’ve definitely experienced more negative interactions with armys and I think that’s kinda made you think armys are the same way with bts but they aren’t. I think you just have a limited view of what the fandom is like, which is understandable cause you’ve mainly had shitty interactions. I don’t think what Jimin said had anything to do with what v said. They were both talking about fans but diff things. Jimin saying they can’t tell us everything it’s a complete diff topic. I do agree with yall that he was making a distinction by saying “our army” but it seems like yall were adding onto what he said due to how armys have acted towards yall

.

Well I wouldn’t call yalls perception of what they meant the truth nor would I call any of the fandoms perception of what they think bts meant, the truth. The only truth here is exactly what they said and unless they tell us then we will not ever know the context or truth behind why they said the things they said. I agree that them needing a break was about them at artist and also being away from one another. My comment was more so about the other things yall discussed, mainly kion. Like when rm said it’s hard going from bts to solo work and he had to flip a switch and then one of yall said it’s hard going from fake rm to real rm even tho he never said that. Also hope this isn’t coming off as a hate comment or anything. Just sharing my thoughts. Thanks for posting this, I didn’t even realize this was 2 hours long. Yall work hard🫡

F

Wow.. they were under pressure about the military and that wasn't public knowledge yet....simple. That was huge in Korea. They announced the military decision after the Busan concert.

F

I don't usually comment but the military enlistment was what they absolutely could not talk about yet. Love you guys honesty and agree about toxic and immature fans ( not all)

Jodys Corner

BTS are so huge, I dont blame news media for doing what they do after seeing festa. I know it must've pissed BTS off seeing media run with such BS

Jodys Corner

We held back like BTS held back. For the same reasons BTS held back. Lol. We will make an update video in the future though.

Jodys Corner

Well, my channel and patreon told me a LOT. Its definitely NOT 90% You're only saying 90% because V said 90%. Lol. If V said 95% YOU would be saying 95% too. Smh

Jodys Corner

RM is more himself solo than as RM in BTS. Do you agree? Suga is more himself solo than Suga is in BTS. Do you agree?

Jodys Corner

Free speech is precious to any thriving democracy

.

Yeah I agree with that. Solo you don’t have to worry about doing something that fits everyone’s taste, you can do what you want. That’s different than saying who they are in bts is fake

WittyRD

I think it’s just not productive to compare the general freedom Americans have with speaking up to Korean celebrities. Also let’s be honest, lots of American celebrities be hopping on bandwagons; they speak up AFTER they know the public opinion is also leaning that way. I’m not delusional though; yes there’s a significant portion of this Festa that is related to them being frustrated at the Korean public/Toxic ARMY/Idol system etc, and wanting to be more open. We can’t however ignore the fact that we don’t know, what we don’t know….We shouldn’t automatically make the Korean public/ARMY be the only reason they wanted to leave things unsaid. The conversation in this reaction revolved around how the guys are being strangled by the toxic ARMY and Bang PD is controlling them etc. Which is y’alls opinion, that’s fine. BUT we can’t rule out that there’s probably a lot of personal human things they were going through which they wouldn’t tell us even if ARMY was perfect angels. Just like Keyette was saying, I’m sure American celebrities go through shit they don’t tell their fans about too. There’s stuff they keep private regardless of how accepting or toxic the fanbase is. No one is to blame in those situations, we should understand humans have a right to privacy. If I had a friend who told me they were struggling with something personal they didn’t want to talk about in specifics; then I’d offer support and empathy without jumping to conclusions. Thats just me tho.

.

Well yeah I am saying 90% because v did. Without numbers I would still say there are more fans that are supportive in whatever bts decide to do than there are fans that have a problem with everything. In the context of what v and rm we’re talking about, fans supporting the fact that they are exhausted and need a break V was absolutely right. I have not seen a single army complaining about the decisions bts have made pertaining to their break or solo work. Most of the fans beg them to rest in the first place. The armys on your channel and patreon are a very limited pool of a fandom with millions of people in it. That limited pool that you’ve experienced has mostly been negative so I get your view point

WittyRD

Each member solo could be argued as being more “real” but that’s just cus it’s them in concentrate form lol. I don’t see it as them being “fake” in BTS. Eating a fruit salad with 7 different kinds of fruit is a different experience than eating a whole bowl of grapes. The grapes weren’t “fake” grapes when they were in the fruit salad, just you get to focus and enjoy the grapes entirely when they’re solo.

WittyRD

Baby steps!! 🙌🏽💜💜💜

.

Yeah seeing his comments on YouTube tho I see why he would feel the way he does about armys. The mfs in his comment section are not normal at all. It’s like all the worst parts of this fandom decided to congregate on his channel

Taetaelover

Its just the same as you guys are abit conscious of the cameras in terms of you know some fans are watching this that can act crazy and react at anything u say, you are aware of that its the same for bts but on a more wider scale as millions watch their stream but also believe it r not they have gotten hate from their so called army fans too and on a wider scale so ofcourse they have to be aware to some extent what they share. Its even more so bc armys over exaggerated the whole dumpling incident or the little argument and fights they shared with and made it out like it was a big falling out when it was just little kids having a petty argument.

Taetaelover

tbh what arenys didn't clock on but i did, RM even mentioned it in his ptd on stage to some extent and i knew they were probs ging on a break or to military. And this video didn't come out that long after

Taetaelover

Jhope was never a underground rapper, he learnt rapping as a trainee in bts. He was a street dancer. RM and Suga were underground rappers

VancityGal

That's what I was thinking the whole time. I can't wait for Kion to have to eat his words. Jody, please include Kion in any reaction you do to Jin's album.

Gladeez (Gladys)

Perfectly said love the example you gave with the fruit salad anyone should be able to understand this 💯👏

Chlo

I remember this festa video wrecked me, it was so sad to see BTS getting emotional, especially RM & Suga because that was so rare to see. I feel like V had very little to say, I don't know whether that's because he couldn't say much or wouldn't or because as he's gotten older he's "chilled out" and already gone through a lot in the past (like Jody said about 2020 in the soop V). V is my "bias" and I gotta say I didn't quite like how he was the most quiet out of the group in this Festa vid coz I know he can be really outspoken on the company etc. (because of what he said in the BTS Monuments: Beyond the Star Documentary). Maybe he didn't want to get into all of it just yet at this dinnerparty or he really didn't have much to say, who knows. I respect him either way. We gotta be happy with what we get from them because they'll never be able to be 100% with us, because of crazy ARMY's or their company or the industry itself. Thankyou guys for the reaction keep speaking your mind, don't listen to the haters, us true ARMY understand where you are coming from. It's all love and respect at the end of the day. I always look forward to your reactions because you try to get down to the truth and see it for what it really is and I respect that. Like me you undstand that they are grown men with different personalities, likes, dislikes etc. They date, they drink, they smoke, they do things that any normal 20/30 yr old man does. They have their own opinions on matters in this world and they wanna say what they feel deep down but some "ARMY" will never be able to understand that which is sad. I hope after the military when they come back as a group they be what they wanna be and say what they gotta say without any f***s given! Looking forward to 2025 BTS!

Chlo

I think you'll really enjoy their 'Yet To Come' concert in Busan! It's a fantastic goodbye and sendoff for the fans before they left for the Army. 😄

Taetaelover

I don'y think V was pc at all, even Jimin said that V was the most down to earth out of all of them. And if you listen to Vs song he wrote which they released in when they were still in bts the song blue and grey, in that song V expresses his raw emotions about being burnt out. Plus V has expressed this stuff more than anyone about how he was burnt out and how he sometimes felt like he couldn't share stuff with army as they would judge him, and always says he needs that reassurance from army that they still lie him etc. And what he said here was raw he said hw he couldn't express him self truly and couldn't show sides of himself and he was hoping to shw that through his solo career

Yahel Poveda

Hi Jody! Thank for the honest reaction, this is a very meaningful and important video for us. I only hope you want to watch more Jin content because is so talented an important member for the group and is sad that Kion said “he is there and that’s it”. Please show to him live videos like "Crystal snow", "The Truth untold", "Awake" so he can see a little more of what Jin brings to the vocal line because it's hard to see him talk like that knowing almost nothing about our WWH. 😋 Hugs from Panamá! 🇵🇦

Jodys Corner

I didnt know that V doubted army too. My bad,

Taetaelover

II know thats why instead of attcking you guys i just wanted to let you know, i think V was saying that stuff in the video bc he was trying to communicate to army that you should try to understand what we are going through and thats why he said i am sure army will understand he was speaking more to the fans then. He has said this type of thing before.

Jodys Corner

I have another platform where I am my true self on camera at 100. I only found out that I had to turn down for one specific crazy audience. That is the Army. Not all army are crazy, but a lot of them are. So I understand why BTS have to stay quiet on A LOT of stuff. I feel like if they showed who they were more, I would like them more, but the larger army base would despise them and critique them for showing who the REALLY are. It's the reverse effect. That's why I will never fake a reactio for clout from Army, because they are not liking the REAL ME. They would be falling for the mask, not the face under it. This is the same problem that BTS is dealing with. It's what comes with being so famous.

Jodys Corner

What's the ONE jin song that we HAVE to react to??? @LIEF

Taetaelover

yeah, Taehyung and Jungkook already had to have 2 fans sued bc of them spreading fake rumours about them. V got so much hate the second fans thought he was dating Jennie. And all the bts members have so they have to keep this stuff so secretive. I appreciate that you respect this bts raw side, i feel like alot of armys forget they are normal people who can fight and feel upset and drained at times maybe even dislike being together at times. Its like how i fight with my siblings. They lived together in a house for 8 years or so its bound to happen.

Jodys Corner

I mentioned it when RM said "can we really be ourselves, If I showed you who I really am would you still love me?" (paraphrasing)..... Tell me why t MF ARMY said im a hater and always thinking negatively and sheet. Bruh, I knew then that the fanbase is wild and volitile/delusional af

Jodys Corner

Delusional is an opinion with no malice behind it. I believe you are delusional. Just like you believe I secretly hate on BTS ( i remember your comments about us). How many times have you scolded me for not enjoying a certain reaction? I feel that RM is afraid of the type of army you claim to be. I believe if RM was reading what you are saying he would shake his mofo head at you. NGL.

Jodys Corner

"Or RM realising that he might not have the 'right' to say things for the band in lyrics or in interviews" - He literally said I have nothing to say. He lost himself. He didn't even know who he was anymore. That's why. There is no maybe. Listen to what the man said. He said he feels like a literal ROBOT churning out souless/generic pop music. I don't mean to be mean to you, so if you took offense at me calling you delusional, I apologize. I don't know what other word to describe how I feel you are coming off as. Should we do another reaction to the festa and break down everything he says and discuss it further??? idk how someone as experienced in BTS as you are still doesn't see RM's severe pain that his role in BTS was causing him. The pressure being the leader, the Fact BangPD sidelined him and suga bevause they're not as popular or as pretty and cant sing/dance as good as v, jook and jimin. RM is clearly underappreciated. I can tell he feels used because no one wants to learn FkNG ENGLISH. I think maybe they don't wanna learn because they don't wanna take the responsibility to do what RM does. Be a leader. Maybe RM dislikes that about the other memebrs? (That's me coming to a conclusion, not a fact)

Jodys Corner

"You make it seem all bad, like they don't enjoy being a member of BTS, which they have never said.".......... ---- I believe they like each other a lot. Some even love each other. But do you honestly believe that RM was breaking down because he is ENJOYING being a member of BTS????? Please answer that question.

Yahel Poveda

Sorry for my intromision but I would like to give my opinion in this question. Jin is mostly an incredible balladeer so his voice stands out more in that type of genre so I suggest you watch “ Awake" Live, "Abys” (is my favorite jin song) or his OST "Yours". In the group you can watch "Crystal snow" stage mix fan cam because his performance was amazing! 💜 And always keep in mind that Jin had to learn to sing and dance from zero in his 20s... Tae and Namjoon are my bias, but Jin is my favorite singer in the group.

Chlo

Please can you watch bts members interviews on Suchwita. In V's episode he talks about the struggles and they also mention that a lot of what was filmed of In The Soop was edited out. 😊

Zaria Weber

Listen to Epiphany or Awake

Yahel Poveda

Jody, I don't know if you already reacted to all the episodes of "Suchwita" with the 7 members, if you haven't seen them all, I suggest you do since they were very interesting because they talked a little more about their solo projects and I'm sure that you are going to like the information. 😉

𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐚𝐚ఌ

131 comments do I dare read the comments? Is it safe to read 😭😭. Or do I just go back to binge watching Jody BTS reactions.

Kimberley

Jin's vocals on crystal snow live performance are amazing but, for solo songs check out Epiphany live performance. I recommend having Keon also watch Run Jin. Thanks Jody for all the time you put in I appreciate you.

Kimberley

Jins range is crazy crystal snow is perfect example

VancityGal

I agree. Start with the high notes compilation. I also love what he does in House of Cards and Awake, both available live which I recommend over the recording.

Gladeez (Gladys)

I pray for the day y’all watch all the Suchwita episodes with each bts member !! I can’t wait Jody 😭💯, it’s amazing for gaining great insight on how each member feel abt this solo era in depth, so much context and insight! I’ll link each ep with a BTS member below and in order (they need to be watched in order) Ep. 1 - SUGA with RM https://youtu.be/KN9gQBb4up0?si=e0G5IQgLiYJ3s1NS Ep. 7 - SUGA with Jimin https://youtu.be/X6Svs7gYs1U?si=k9G6pRJueVDkcTIB Ep. 9 - RM with Agust D https://youtu.be/YXr6-vXzSrI?si=Pe2ma4g51AXaXXhn Ep. 12 - SUGA with Jin https://youtu.be/tZscK8j5a5w?si=UEhVRETSoQktXLFP Ep. 14 - SUGA with J-Hope https://youtu.be/5xfosKUglZw?si=EPR03hsV3Tqg3BSm Ep. 15 - SUGA with Jungkook https://youtu.be/ocDDLPLKe70?si=9TUhokGqjCCb4B7D Ep. 18 - SUGA with V https://youtu.be/M6wpkLCiHoI?si=e7njBac0U8Dd_b-Q Ep 21. - SUGA with Jungkook 2 https://youtu.be/0RKnjVL2kWA?si=_jwzuchQm0WjgM8J Watching them in order is key so the timeline of when each member released solo work doesn’t get confusing I’ll even copy and paste this in the discord if you’d like just lmk Jody 💯👏

Amanda Michelle

Yes, Luna! I agree 100%! Poor Jody has seen the rotten side of the fanbase and that's extremely unfortunate. I think he doesn't understand just how MASSIVE the fanbase is...we're literally from all over the world...tens of MILLIONS! And only a tiny fraction of the fanbase have ever actually seen his channel. Some reasons people got negative so quickly on his channel is because 1.) SOME of the viewers didn't like him sexualizing Jimin (yet we all know Jimin is sex personified. LOL) and 2.) early on, Jody and the guys tended to jump to conclusions based on their own American music industry experiences, without yet understanding Korea's music industry/culture. Jody, if you see this, I really hope you'll watch this brief video about the true ARMY fanbase. It's really enlightening. The reason we, YOUR fans, would like you to see this is, sometimes it's hurtful to hear you and the guys rag on Army's so much. Anyway, the video is called "How the BTS Army changed fandom culture." Here's the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R9oLOq7E92M

Taetaelover

I also forgot to mention and i thought i would let u guys know, V has spoken about saesaengs saying he feels uncomfortable to go out and they can't freely go out as some armys are always stalking them and he also said they're not real fans( he was talking about the obessive ones that know their flight schedules and everything else and come to see them) and, and the other members also have told those armys to support them from far. Jungkook also recently told them on his live to stop delivering food to his house and said he wouldn't eat his food. I think he sued them aswell. I can't show you guys all these videos bc they are countless lives and other content and i can't remember which ones exactly they mentioned all these in

Jodys Corner

Then you agree with me. That's what I mean. BTS favors jimin, Jk, and V and even hope more than RM and Suga.

Jodys Corner

That analogy fails. Im arguing they were never grapes in the fruit salad. RM and Suga versus in BTS songs be shallow af sometimes. Sometimes they get 2-3 bars...... they had NO impact in "On" they were sidelined like a mofo. V jk and Jimin were the song

Jodys Corner

Im thinking some of them used the military to get away from each other and take a break.

Jodys Corner

I dont think it was a "shit" reaction. I was having fun with my friends.....It's crazy, but if I ever called a MV of BTS "shit" you would go off the rails. It's hypocritical.

Jodys Corner

I believe you wants what's best for BTS... But try to remember what we went through (and continue to go through) when simply voicing our tones down ooinion on the guys we actually like. That's all im asking. When you called my reaction trash, that made me feel like you were no different than the ones on YouTube who can't see past how we look and think we watch for clout or money.

.

To be fair, when it comes to group music you actually haven’t heard much outside of their title tracks from each era. Sometimes the songs favor the vocal line and sometimes they favor the rap line. Their lyrics in their solo songs are wayyyy more personal bcs it’s just them, but their lyrics in bts aren’t shallow at all. They also do songs where it’s just the rap line or just the vocal line. Btw I’ve missed the music reactions and guessing what the mv looks like, if yall don’t have too much on your plate I hope yall get back to it soon🫡

Gladeez (Gladys)

Jody I hear you and I agree, although every BTS song isnt like that, a good portion hell yeah it’s vocal heavy, there are songs where RM and Suga are sidelined as u said, this just boils down to you guys reacting to more BTS music, like album reactions etc.. there are also songs where the Vocalist are on the sidelines, y’all have only listened to about 25% of BTS discography, Jody I’m gonna link you some BTS songs to react to where RM and Suga aren’t as sidelined like in the songs you’ve heard so far ————————————— BTS - Jump https://youtu.be/pLj7XbNU3Qk?si=SGjK76_8QBcuiV23 Live Performance ~ https://youtu.be/zCCsYbaxsyk?si=PavJD6SZq1D9au5Z BTS - Attack On Bangtan https://youtu.be/gP0Vo0U3Yn8?si=eRD109urR0vqRhz7 Lyrics ~ https://youtu.be/7RsFNXsvusw?si=aZl6F7fRt6_xY-EP BTS - Ma City https://youtu.be/2rDz_l_apIE?si=hFA9eQa-TbsEdVze Lyrics - https://youtu.be/9_SnoNkGzUc?si=qjwFVYJyU9B286sp BTS - Hip Hop Phile https://youtu.be/KUoksxg4W5o?si=7iHP4m2-6KWuJ9LF Lyrics - https://youtu.be/1w0ya8Qof0I?si=gy1798L-S5UQB0sk BTS - Paldogangsan https://youtu.be/gwgy2MbjWKs?si=0N6BCr2rU00YiiD3 Lyrics - https://youtu.be/-uXJCHFV_8g?si=w-4kTmrSXA65pzCv Lyrics Explained - https://youtu.be/l48zU1h00jw?si=-O0nkDDZBSqH1jv_ ———————— Rap line songs BTS - Cypher pt. 1 https://youtu.be/kh4krMpD00g?si=-t-aMYCQol119dOZ BTS - Cypher pt. 2 https://youtu.be/0fo7M-DzopQ?si=QlERqVwD8Zi9tzHQ BTS Cypher pt. 3 https://youtu.be/6ktszP05TUY?si=ue5sRv28C0CboNIc BTS Cypher pt. 4 https://youtu.be/zZEtB3tajMM?si=qJOxRYBn9cnf2MQX BTS - DDAENG https://youtu.be/JuZwvYDQ92E?si=EZt1qA_BnV1LQ9FD Lyrics - https://youtu.be/LbSU1_SG91w?si=4LYRWL1mBvYc_XID BTS - UGH! https://youtu.be/Mpwe4nXCIFc?si=rkXfc-OE0cmJkIgz Lyrics- https://youtu.be/y-0QlQH5d3Y?si=zvaS60xZieD2BVYC These are only a few songs Jody but I would love to hear your insight on these songs especially “UGH!” and “Hip Hop Phile”, but please prioritize UGH! I beg of you 🤣😭, I’ll put this list over on discord so it’ll always be available to you with the links, I agree most of BTS recent songs on the past few albums don’t prioritize the rap line as much but there are songs in their discography that favors the rap line and also has just the rap line you just gotta binge more of their music, and I’m here for it Jody !! Thank you for the time and effort you put into these vids 💜 (p.s. I only put a few that I personally like so other may not agree also if I put every rap line heavy song this list would be too long)

Jodys Corner

There you go capping again. Challenging my knowledge as if I dont know enough BTS songs to have this opinion. Smfh. Questioning my validity because i havent heard as much as YOU have. As if my opinion will change even if ive heard their ENTIRE discography. Thats a tired ass excuse im not letting fly anymore. Y'all used that against me in the beginning for too much.

Keyz J.

Hindsight is 20/20 ....do u think u would've been able to clock exactly what rm is going through during ITS season 2 if u didn't learn all the things u did before watching it. Army went into season 2 without knowing how truly burntout they were....u went into season 2 having already consumed content that has happed years after in the soop and festa..so ur able to watch in the soop from a different lens. How he behaves in season 2 is the way he behaves in season 1 and bon voyage. The only difference is YOU are going into it with information that army didn't have at the time of consuming it.

.

I’m not challenging your knowledge or validity? I’m simply saying the rap line has more shine in their songs than you think. They have a lot of songs and you haven’t had the chance to get to most of them yet. That’s not knocking your opinion on what you’ve heard so far. Idk if my comments are giving off the tone that I’m being negative or bitchy but that’s not my intention so i think ill just stop here

WittyRD

BTS has released over 100 title songs since debut. You can go to Spotify right now and look up “BTS all songs (2013-2024)” you’ll find a fan made play list with EVERY BTS track available including solos on Spotify in order of release. Its over 700 tracks long and over 41hrs run time; I specify tracks cus it also includes album skits, Japanese versions and instrumentals. That being said when we tell you, that y’all haven’t scratched the catalog surface its a true fact. You’ve barely covered all of their main title tracks, there’s soo many good b-sides and rapline songs that are fan favorites. Don’t get defensive when you’ve formed an opinion based on 30% of the information and then people with more insight tell you it’s not accurate and urge you to look again. It’s not wrong to have based that opinion on the songs y’all have heard, but respectfully, YES I am challenging your knowledge because it’s such a small sampling. Please go and listen to more BTS songs before making that claim as a fact and calling us CAP. I say this in the most constructive and tactful way, please use this as an excuse to start doing more music reactions and reading lyrics. I highly recommend the following songs: BTS Cyphers, DDAENG, UGH, Born Singer, Baepsae/Silver Spoon, Run BTS, Spine Breaker, Ma City and Moving On.

WittyRD

I do also want to point out that their recent work is more Pop/R&B based so those songs will have more focus on the hook/chorus and thus the vocal line shines. The rap line has also been putting out individual mixtapes/albums since 2016 so ARMY has had lots of content and music to show love on the rappers. The guys themselves have talked about it several times, they have creative freedom with the team and they will distribute lines based on what they feel the specific needs. So HYBE/Bang PD isn’t intentionally sidelining the rap line in favor of the vocals. That’s just how the dice fell when they were doing heavy pop/all English stuff. I think you have to look at the bigger picture.

Jodys Corner

"Don't get defensive" coming from the main one that gets butthurt when I make any statement you believe isnt true... smh. "You've formed an opinion based on 30% of the information" Bruh, that is an elitist mentality. So I need to hear everything that YOU have heard to have an ooinion on something to be right? How much percent do i need? 90%? 95%? Will you consider my opinion valid then? That is such a BS response!

Jodys Corner

"They have creative freedom with the team" got dayum. How can you say this after RM said his is creatively suppressed? RM said he is just a rapping robot and translator. He said he has no voice. Someone with true creative freedom would have had bigger lines for the rap line in recent years....

Chia Sano

I just want to offer to people commenting or not really giving Jody and the team time to process, we can all agree that their discography after 2020 has been ore vocal line heavy. That the amazing album that Map of the Soul 7 was overshadowed the same year by Dynamite and most people new to BTS don't have a s long of a before and after and the journey to see and follow. Even if Jody is off statistically based on what one person knows he is not statistically off based on what he has seen so far. It id oksy for people to have a journey of disovery and we all have seen Jody and his friends grow and learn and even change some opinions. People who are here who are real ARMY, reputationally in reactor spaces can see how new reactors and even old ones are getting bullied by people who claim to be army by telling them how wrong or how bad or how fake they are. We can exercise a bit more discernment in knowing the time and place and tone in which to info-dump after Jody and them watch something so emotional and still keep it 100 in our appreciation for them taking the time.

Chia Sano

We are never going to change people's opinions of Army as a whole if even when we join a more private support platform for people who criticize their process and start to sound exactly like the trolls in their YT channels. Also culturally, these are not kpop stans. These are American men who are learning about another culture but not trying to join said culture, just respect it the way they should be respected. Again, they don't mind education but lets also remember they are grown men so how you approach them with info matters.

WittyRD

Welp I’m genuinely sorry you feel that way. I’m not “butthurt” at all lol. 🤦🏽‍♀️ I’ve also never called you or any of the guys out y’all names, but I’m the “butthurt” one I guess. I know that I tend to info dump in my comments, but please understand I am genuinely coming from a place of offering context. I’ll just stop from now on. I’ve been respectful in every comment I’ve ever made because I know your frustrations and negative experiences with “ARMY”. I am very careful with my words and don’t want to be misunderstood, I have failed obviously. I’ve seen you get defensive often after watching so many of your videos so that’s why I said that. Not sure how my comment about the statistical facts was elitist, it wasn’t meant to be. I was simply pointing out and expanding on several other comments echoing the same sentiment, we felt that your opinion was prematurely formed. It’s clear that no amount of information or reasoning will change that. I genuinely wish you guys all the best. 💜💜 ✌🏽

WittyRD

You’re so right. I definitely realized that today. You gotta let people find their own path, and it can’t be rushed along by overwhelming them with information no matter how well intentioned or researched it is. Personally I like deep diving into topics and getting allll the details lol, but that doesn’t work for everyone. Being a creator is hard enough and I wouldn’t want them to feel attacked by us adding info dumping to the mix of toxic comments they’re already fending off. 💜💜💜

Tk

Just some context here and I don't know if any have mentioned it. But it took years (at last 2) before BTS members were paid.

Jodys Corner

They were fed and housed. Clothed with a promise to become Idols. That's enough to stay together

Jodys Corner

I dont trust some of yall "datails" because yall have straight up lied to me in the past. Please underatand.

Donta Scarlett

Once you watch more of Bon Voyage, shit even more of In The Soop, you will peep what they were trying to convey. And you see it, but may end up overlooking by accident. RM. and Suga are always writing even on these group bonding trips. Even when on "vacation", they still have deadlines. Music to push out even when they should be chilling. Look back at the beginning of season two of In the Soop when staff told Hobi they would be gone for 4 days. He said, "That's not long at all," but then reeled it in and said, "It will be some good rest." Four days ain't shit. They are constantly on the go, and this was during Covid at that. When RM spoke on music, he said he wanted to give the fans something during the dark. Period of COVID-19 and give them a B-side with "Life Goes On. " The Western music scene didn't care much. Then they bite the bullet and give the Western side a full English song that was Dynamite, and that went number 1. It was like "Damn when we give y'all real shit, y'all don't care 'cause it's too much look into the lyrics, but the minute we sing fully in English, y'all acknowledge us just a bit." Hybe went wild and suddenly wanted to do more. They were losing themselves on what they stood for as a group, just popping out plotless- no-meaning ass music. Remember, they started as the voice for the youth. They were meant to keep growing, hence the chapters of. Each Album, and suddenly since Dynamite, they dropping music with Snoop Dog and Benny. So RM and Suga is looking at each other like, "What they expect us to write? Look at the direction y'all took it to." Look at who wrote permission to dance and so on. None of Big Hit Music was a part of that. This is one of the reasons Bang PD stepped down as CEO when they became public and turned to Hybe. He is the chairman, but he's going back to producing. Bang isn't the bad guy. There is so much more I want to say, but it's so long as it is already. But one more thing, do not overlook Jin. The shit man was saying, ain't it. Jin is working. Jin was never a singer, and look where he is now. He is still figuring out which direction he wants to take his voice and music. J-hope was a battle dancer, not a rapper just to clarify. It was Rm and Suga that were underground rappers against their parents wishes. Anyway, loved y'all intakes despite the bit about Jin.

i don’t know if you’re still reading comments jody but hopefully my comment finds you well bcs i have a lot to say lol. firstly, about what you said about the company overworking them. hybe recently has been under a lot of fire for this and you are absolutely correct. bts were tired, exhausted and overworked. lately, numerous artists in other hybe groups have sustained injuries whilst still being told to perform. there’s a member in a group right now who has had a leg injury since last year that has not fully healed bcs they’re constantly touring, being made to perform ect. to even see that namjoon and bts were also feeling the same way then is absolutely ridiculous considering bts are the reason hybe/big hit has grown to what it has. a large amount of “army” are company stans. which means they ride for hybe (bts company) over anything else. “army’s” or well fake ones have even been attacking jungkook online for publicly siding with a girl group that has been undergoing so much trouble while under hybe, these girls are minors and you have army’s online calling them sluts, attention whores and literally anything you can think of. they ride for hybe when even hybe staff right now are bashing and being disgusting to jungkook on forums and the korean web. bts are fully aware of the toxic and weird fans that call themselves army’s while literally going against everything the boys support and hope their fans would act like. and them speaking against those people has always made me so proud.

on v, i kid you not people to this DAY are still saying that very public and very obvious video of v and jennie from blackpink were not actually them and instead are cosplayers! cosplayers JODY LIKE??? the proof was clear as day and they still denied ALL of it. they went to her comments calling her so many disgusting things just bcs they couldn’t accept the fact that v is a grown man who is allowed the basic human right to happiness. the fued between army’s and blinks (bp’s fandom) is crazy so i didn’t expect much else. if it was any other girl, she’d still get hate bcs it’s v but since it is someone from blackpink the entire thing was so sad to witness. even though there has been so many things between them coming out that was too much to be a mere coincidence those toxic army’s were fighting demons to deny all of it. the fact that we will never ever see bts openly, happy with whoever they wish to date saddens me. the fact that they can never fully express themselves with however they feel so much that it leads them to cry bcs all of it is so pent up is just so heartbreaking . i think as someone who has stanned bts for so long i learned to isolate myself from the fandom bcs the bad ones overpower the good and it gets hard to enjoy bts when i go online and see so many of them just being disgusting. the way they turn on the boys so fast, attack any and every person/group/idol they feel like, being hybe worshippers when the company has been shit to bts for a long time now. i was lucky enough to find channels like yours whose army following are actual decent human beings who love the boys and respect other artists and people’s opinions.

I am commenting here just to say this comment made me so happy. Thank you Donta, this patreon often reminds me there are still grounded ARMY/Fans.

I think there are Army who are mature and reasonable, and then there are other Army that are immature, toxic, or just plain delulu. I also think BTS members are fully aware of this, and do on occasion call out the delulu fans and take action against them if needed. Particularly JK on his past live streams, will tell Army off for certain things. This is probably part of what they mean when they say they can’t say everything. They don’t lie, but don’t tell us everything that’s going on because understandably they can’t. Like this dinner and the announcement about group activities hiatus and solo activities, they knew this was going to happen a couple of years in advance and they were preparing, because they knew they were going to have to go to the military also. BTW the original plan was to go to the military in 2020 after promoting Map Of The Soul 7 and doing a world tour, but Covid screwed everyone over. And what was said, comparing BTS to groups like Destinys Child, or One Direction, which have split up and basically had only one or two members that really became famous, I think that’s totally incorrect. You can’t compare BTS to them, their culture, bond and history is totally different. And each member has a huge following, even if they were to split (which is highly unlikely to happen for a long time ) each member would be very successful on his own. If you’d like to know more about their history, there’s an official docu series on Disney called BTS monuments: Beyond the Star.
