LOl Jody , Taemin and Jimin are best friends out side of BTS Jimin has friends circle called padding squad and taemin and jimin are close they inspire each other , Taemin is a crazy dancer for sure but the sence of fluidity you see in jimin cannot be copied. Inspiration is different from St. up copying. Infact there are choreographers who said no one can dance like jimin not even jimin can teach others to dance like him cause he incorporates lots of ballet and positions while doing popping and locking. As a dancer my self i can see the difference. Any way great reaction guys.

I don't really understand what the problem is? Jimin has a lot of people he idolizes and one of them is Taemin. He was in a popular group when bts debuted of course jimin would look up at him, that was jimins dream. Also like they said, a lot of people have Taemin as a role model, because like already said he is a popular member of an older popular group, so people who want to go the same path would look up to him. Bts was always open in who they idolize and look up to, so I don't get the disappointment? Jimin isn't a copycat only because he has an idol who now is his friend, everyone has someone they look up to and I'm happy jimin became friends with his, who isn't the only one btw!! So yeah I don't see a problem but maybe i misunderstood something, so feel free to elaborate more🤷🏻‍♀️

I love Taemin & SHINee, so this was cool to see. Honestly I wouldn't worry too much about Jimin "copying" Taemin. He looked up to Taemin as an idol like many others and was inspired by him but the same thing is happening with idols now looking upto Jimin and being influenced by Jimin. It doesn't take away from what Jimin has made of himself and who he has become. Yeah they may have similarities but they are each in their own lane of skills and talent. Don't let this come between your love for Jimin. He's your baby daddy. JODY remember "once you JimIN, you can't JimOUT." Tbh if you lool at every male kpop group there is, there's always a member with a similar style or look to Taemin or Jimin.

Awesome, I'll look forward to it. Taemin's a great dancer and has amazing songs. Even the group he's from "SHINee" is incredible, their debut song "Replay" is one of my favourite songs ever.

Yeah I agree they are both great dancers but they are both quite different. Jimin's got the contemporary dance background so he's more graceful and fluid with the way he moves and he's smooth with it, he's charming. Whereas, Taemin reminds me of MJ in some ways he moves, his footwork is impeccable and the way he dances looks like it's not hard for him at all. They were both born to be stars, that's no doubt.

Jody, unfortunately I couldn't find the original video or the one in English, the subtitles are in Portuguese and it's from Tik Tok, but it's basically Jimin remembering the beginning when he hadn't found himself yet, how he felt bad about expressing what he wasn't and that now he's discovered himself and feels relieved to show who he really is. He's always made it clear that he was a fan of Taemin, but being inspired doesn't mean he's trying to be what he's not. He's always been there, he just needed to find himself. I know your a little sad, but they all model after each other, Taemin modeled himself after Rain. You should check out Shinee it's a little corny in the beginning but It gets better. They had 5 members but unfortunately one of them took his own life in 2017 they decided to stay together.

I guess you could feel like that but I completely disagree. We all are pieces of people we met and who had even a small impact on our lives. Jimin wouldn't be jimin without a lot of people in his life. His family, his friends, the members, army.. that's all pieces of him and I feel that if one was missing then it wouldn't be the jimin that I love. I think 'modeled' is a really strong word to use, if you consider that Jimin has an even bigger idol from another group. What made jimin are his experiences in live and not an idol he looked up to as a teenager. Jimin was dancing and singing before taemin was an idol, he wanted to do it since he was a kid and then when he grew up, he saw someone who was similar to him and it reassured him that he could make it, as Jimin and not as a persona the company made for him. So yeah Taemin was a big inspiration for Jimin, but he didn't make Jimin, he just helped Jimin to see his full potential.

I am really confused on this reaction Jody and I normally agree with you but I honestly do not understand the problem with Jimin having Taemin as a role model? I mean this whole time he has modeled his dance style after Michael Jackson and even Chris Brown but when seeing today that he was inspired by Taemin it’s a problem? I don’t really get it. I don’t ever think I’ve seen him “copy” anyone. He’s always brought his own style to whatever he’s done. Even now the up and coming idols look up to him and are inspired by his style. I saw your comment below about Jimin modeling himself off of him. I don’t think that’s the right choice of words. I think back when Jimin was having a difficult time becoming who he truly wanted to be Taemin “inspired” him and helped Jimin to open himself up to be who he is today. Jody I wouldn't worry too much LMAO what he was saying is the exact same thing as Jungkook saying he was inspired by michael jackson or an older kpop idol. RM, Suga, and Jhope said theyve been inspired by old american rappers in their styles and lyrics but it doesnt make their lyrics or styles any less than their own. I get that you're feeling like its not as authentic now but its truly how everything is (everyone gets inspired by someone or has an idol that they look up to). It doesn't mean at all that Jimin copied everything and masked himself to be like Taemin. Taemin was just one of the many inspirations that Jimin had when he was discovering who he was and figuring out who he wanted to be (Its similar to how you always say BTS takes a lot of inspiration from Chris Brown, Michael Jackson, and older artists!)

Beautiful words. In fact, our Jimin was not influenced by just one artist but by several people and artists. Jimin was never a copy. He is a wonderful artist, with a unique voice and beautiful dance moves. His sweet and caring personality and his care for the members are captivating, in addition to his artistic self, which needs no introduction. Many artists have similar traits to Taemin and Jimin, but each one carries their own uniqueness, like any other artist in the world.

I don't really understand the reaction..jimin is unapologetically himself. every dancer has an inspiration. it's how they learn and find their style. I don't want you to have the impression that jimin is some copy cat. every member in bts has an inspiration especially the dance line. jimins inspiration just happens to be doing the interview with him so I don't think it's that serious. like you said, jimin is still jimin without taemin. they're just really similar.

I mean I just think jimin influenced a lot by teamin especially sense his group came out before bts. A lot of ppl are influenced by his group as well. I think jimin is still jimin it’s not like he completely copied another man because there are differences but I suggest checking out SHINEE the group he is in. It’s a 5 member group but they continue as a 4 member group because 1 member has passed away December 18 2017 (rest in peace jonghyun❤️🕊️) I’m so excited for you to explore a lot of great kpop groups because there is so much❤️

Like everyone else has written, Jimin was inspired by several artists such as Michael Jackson, Usher, Chris Brown AND Taemin. Jimin has been dancing his whole life and you can see the differences in their dance styles. Jimin has never copied anyone!
