It is a different Daemon. Although this Daemon is named after that one. He is called the Black Dragon. Because he switched the colors of his Targaryen sigil from the red dragon on black to black dragon on red. That war in the House of the Dragon was about a 100 years before this happened. A different war. Daemon Blackfyre is a legitimate bastard who with a few others bastards rose in rebellion against their half-brother the King. The King had a bastard on his side also. That bastard was in GOT.

Baelor was hit with a mace. And Duncan was hit with a flail. On a show i saw they showed the difference between the two that the mace generated more power. Because it was a solid weapon. While a flail hurt it didnt generate as much power for being attached to a chain

This is waaaaay after house of the dragon bro. Remember Targaryens love naming their kids consistently after their prior relatives. Lots of aegons (even Jon snow’s real name, Aegon the first, rhaeneryas 4th son, the other Aegon ,alicent hightowers boy the bitch) lots of Aemond lots of Daemons etc. they should have clarified the year the show is in to not confuse peeps I agree on that.

I will say with the armor part in the book they said that Baelor wore his son’s armor and so it wasn’t properly fitted to him. I haven’t read the books just seen it online.

Yes, having a helmet that's too small leaves no room (cushion) for when you're struck. There needs to be space and his was too tight. When he was struck, the metal plunged into his skull and was the only thing containing the hole. Very realistic injury in my eyes.

Pretty suprised you didnt meantion the directing and score this episode, i agree with you the backstory was mid but nit picking like ''where are the other fighters'' when you yourself said you liked they are showing his POV seems to answer your question. The choreography was realistic and gritty imo - there were hardly any sword on sword fight in the tournament so to early to compare with game of thrones. Also I believe you would enjoy this series more if you would not have seen Mid of the dragon, seems you passed on the frustration to this series and feels like hate watching at this point tbh.

At the end of the last episode when he rides in you can see him kinda struggle to remove the helmet. Fun little detail I noticed

A- this was pretty fire. Emame is a born and bred follower. Dunk looks to be an untrained idiot so not surprising he went down at the end after so much damn damage. The heir’s brother smacked the heir in the back of the head with a mace go back and check. The bitch prince that yielded is weak compared to his dad so him hitting Dunk in the face with his weapon not surprised he did minimal damage. The backstory was average. Overall the fight was top notch. Really enjoyed it. High quality and smart if you play it back. Enjoyed the side comment of the favorite son not fighting as hard as the brother. The brother fought harder and killed his brother the heir. Crazy. Yup his helmet held the brains in. Guess it could happen. Overall that fight carried this to an A- for me. Good stuff
