Thanks Jody for the reaction. I love the BTS documentaries and stuff like Bon Voyage we get to see more of their personalities. Burn the Stage is cool because this was in 2017 this was the wings tour they were known but not like they are now. I discovered them in 2016 through Blood Sweat and Tears so right around this time.

Burn the Stage is such a good docuseries. A lot of scenes from Rise of Bangtan are pulled from this I believe.

Jody, I’ve supported you since the Naruto reactions, and I was really happy when you started reacting to BTS. I genuinely like you guys. But sometimes it’s frustrating, you know? We get excited when you’re going to react to the boys, and it feels like you’re just looking for reasons to criticize or overanalyze things. I’ve watched their documentaries, their lives, and their content, and even with editing, they’ve always made a point of talking about their insecurities. They’ve never hidden how challenging living together was, and they’ve openly said that, yes, a lot of things are edited. They don’t hide that. Of course, they’re not 100% transparent because there are many factors involved — including contracts, and no one knows what’s written in those clauses. For example, JK has told us that some of the lives he does aren’t even authorized, but that doesn’t stop him from going live and saying things that would definitely be censored or edited out if it were official content. It’s also important to remember that they live in a reality where anything they do, say, who they’re with, or where they go becomes news and gets blown out of proportion. Unfortunately, they deal with a lot of opportunistic people. Recently, something happened with Tae — someone close to him leaked private messages. The boys are targets of harassment, baseless hate, and yes, as unbelievable as it sounds, even threats to their physical safety. Because of that, certain aspects of their lives need to remain more private. The amount of content they produce — more than I’ve ever seen from ANY other artist — is more than enough. They don’t need to expose themselves any more than that. About J-Hope, maybe you just don’t know this, but the members have already said that he is very approachable and open. When it comes to work, he’s extremely perfectionist, serious, and professional, but he does have a warm and welcoming energy. And because there is a very clear age hierarchy in Korea, even though the members are close, they still respect that. For example, Tae himself said to Suga that they became much closer as friends after their trip to Hawaii to film Bon Voyage, when they were paired together. Before that, their relationship was more based on respect, with Suga taking care of him and even scolding him 😂 — probably because he was mischievous. Anyway, sorry for the long message. I just wanted to point out that if you paid more attention to the documentaries — I know it can be hard to read subtitles all the time — I believe that experiencing everything properly and completely would help you understand them better. I do agree with some of your opinions, though. I think their company should treat them with more care and consideration, because they are human beings, not just machines to make money. I agree that they’re not 100% transparent, but I don’t need them to be. They’re already the artists I love for many other reasons.

Jody Is it true you lost interest in Jimin because of that one Taemin video? I find it odd you’d lose interest that fast over a statement taken out of context. You don’t know their LORE well enough to judge that quickly. Jimin NEVER said he copied taemin it was mistranslated he only said he was inspired by him. Besides, how could jimin copy him if by the time Jimin was developing his style, Taemin was still in SHINee and didn’t even have his own distinct style yet? Taemin isn’t above Jimin in any way for Jimin to be “copying” him—they’re best friends who bond over having similar styles, and I’m using “similar” loosely because the only real overlap is the androgyny. Not to mention Jimin literally studied contemporary dance as a kid. Taemin has said multiple times that Jimin inspired him too, so by your logic Taemin “copied” Jimin? Jimin is just humble enough to say he was inspired by his friend, while said friend might avoid saying that because it’s seen as “shameful” to admit you were inspired by someone younger and newer to the industry. Love you Jody but this threw me off a little bc how can you throw someone you claim to like away that fast without looking into it deeper
