Glad we finally got to this. Thanks Jody! And yeah I still think the first was worse. I can see how ppl say it’s better written but it was def more boring. Anyway expect more of the same for the third one from this. Might be more entertaining but dumber. The LOTR trilogy is my goat though. You actually take it serious. No kitty, no radically CGI but a lot of practically effects. Strong writing. Believable (for the most part it’s not perfect). Great characters and villains. Visuals is beautiful for 2001-2003. And my god bad guys don’t die so fast and can actually take a hit and dish out real damage. They killers. Instead of these clumsy E men dying quick and falling over cords.

The Hobbit as a trilogy was a downgrade from the LotR trilogy that much is universally accepted. Peter Jackson tried too much, hoping to recapture the magic of the OG trilogy.

Yeah i like that you could really tell the difference between these films and the earlier LOTR trilogy. Fun fact is that Ian McKellen actually cried on set because of the heavy use of green screens and the lack of real actor interaction during the filming of the hobbit. Also why bilbo keeps taking of the ring is because the One Ring takes you to a spirit world and it affects the mind and it amplifies obsession, paranoia etc Fire reaction and discussion tho!
