Great reaction, but to add to your point about Germany Jody, Vikings conquered, voyaged and migrated to lands all over during that time from Scandinavia to Denmark, Norway, and Sweden. Then they would go on to and invade and then would settle in England, Scotland, Wales Ireland, France, Russia, and Ukraine, Italy, Spain, Germany, and Canada. To also add to Eman’s point, which he is WRONG about, during the Viking age divorce was LEGAL and VERY COMMON. However, it just wasn’t part of the a council. It was heavily common. Nordic women for the most part are actually pretty feminist to a degree not like man-hating, but they would definitely fight men back and in those days as well.

Had to look it up. But looks like Norse women had more rights than most other cultures at that time. They could divorce their husband and take back their dowry and anything they gained during the marriage. And adultery was a serious offense unless you were wealthy or high status. They can have concubines or practice polygamy.

I've seen all 6 seasons because I heard a lot of hype about this show and I knew y'all were gonna watch. Still don't understand how some said this was better than Game Of Thrones. A couple of things. Most of the women in this show are absolutely trash. Also there are some things that will piss y'all off and have you scratching your head. Lagertha for me is the best looking over Rollos chick Siggy and Princess Aslaug. I do agree that the best male character is Floki. There's a whole lot of drama in this show. This was a solid B episode.

Shoutout to you Jody for knowing the Sigurd mythology story , you're right its Germanic but also part of Nordic legend. What makes this series so unique is that alot of these characters are actually based on Scandinavian legends and people who existed in real life. Also alot of major events that happen later on actually happened in real life too. Fire reaction!

Great episode. Season 2 is da best. Ragnar lost his whole old life. Farming, wife son and daughter and got a whole new one. Anyways. Yeah I’d stop here or ig just finish season 2. I love seasons 1-4 but if u thought 1 was ass and this episode already just mid? lol just stop here. It’s like One Piece “It’s just not for everyone” -BG4 The last 40 episodes of the series will piss you off Jody. You won’t finish. Probably best to stop now or finish this season. Things can get real stupid even in these beginning seasons.

These pagan Norse women def had more rights. Especially compared to Christians. But still. Ragnar could stop this. It’s just ya know. He actually loves Lagetha, and respects her. Wouldn’t stop her.

Yep it is the cultures and beliefs. For instance in Greece. A Spartan women had more rights in Sparta than a Athenian woman in Athens. The Spartan woman can own property and had a voice and can be seen in public. Recieved education and athletic training. They believed a strong woman produced strong warriors. But Athens was otherwise the woman could not be seen only allowed in public during religious festivals
