Guess john really did have to take that ring off hal's cold dead body lol. I have the same issues as you though when it comes to lack of ring usage and cosmic exploring even the relationship with hal and john . The series is enjoyable to me but irritating at the same time.

The lack of ring usage is 2nd to the disrespect of the Green Lantern Corps. These are intergalactic space cops doing multiple jail time on Earth and shit. They don't even answer to the authority of anyone but the Guardians 🤦‍♂️.

Ehh I disagree just because they’re heroes doesn’t mean they shouldn’t have to follow the law. By that logic DC disrespected Superman too since he been arrested and gone to jail multiple times in comics and animation. Having powers doesn’t mean you’re above the laws of the society you’re operating in. Most the hero’s you enjoy been behide bars before lol.

Brother, Hal Jordan did 10 whole years in jail for something the Avengers did multiple times in multiple movies on a larger scale. Unless you're telling me he got in there for killing the manhunter chick even though there is no evidence to suggest he did. Yes, it's honorable for the Lanterns to obey the law of the planet they reside in but playing by their bullshit jurisdiction is small scale shit. The Corps only answer to the Guardians and are told to not intervene in any planet's politics. What Hal did is immoral and no hero shit but it's not illegal. Unless he's doing time for leaving John to burn alive in the car? If Guardians didn't want Hal out permanently and he went to jail, you realize that means the sector he should serve in has no Lantern and is left defenceless cuz Earthlings kept him in a cell for 10 years against his will?

Agreed 100% with 4!!! about Silo. 3 solid seasons. 🔥. Yeah I thought I was going crazy when Gardner said the ring was decommissioned/depowered, but yet it had 5%. So I guess the Guardians aka the most powerful beings forgot to make sure the ring was completely depleted 👀. I'm just interested in 2 things. #1. Who shot Hal and #2. When John becomes the Green Lantern will it make any logical sense or at least try to. This was another C- for me.

You’re comparing two different universes that handle politics and the justice system differently bro. The MCU literally imprisoned a few heroes in the Raft before Steve broke them out. And you can argue Hal’s punishment was excessive or that what happened was complicated but saying it wasn’t illegal doesn’t make much sense if he was actually prosecuted and imprisoned. The town wanted Hal to leave and gave him warning after warning but he kept doing his own thing. There were consequences to his choices and people died because of what happened. Atleast once he got out he tried to make things right with the towns people.

The town hates the Lanterns because an alien destroyed their town, an alien that the town was protecting, how about they direct that hate to the lady cop, she knew who the manhunter was ep1. The Guardians decommissioned Hal's ring 10 years ago but it can still be used and as power. There is absolutely 0 respect for a Lantern on Earth (I refuse to put Green in front of Lantern) it seem like people hated Hal before the town was destroyed. And the show made it seem like Hal was smashing Jon's mom.

Look lol………as someone who’s read a lot of comics, I get 100% that comics are often sociopolitical commentary about the era they originate from. Superman with truth, justice, and the American Way, Captain America fighting Nazis, X-Men dealing discrimination, social prejudice, list goes on. John Stewart’s Green Lantern run also had commentary about racial discrimination and John himself talks about it, but this show does it soooooo badly. Im not trying to be an asshole but it legit feels like a white person wrote. Every time someone gets some racial shit off it instantly takes me out of the show. Like they got his brother recording a rap album my nigga????? And we didn’t learn that grave robbing bullshit looks nuts from Justice League???? Tf are we doing HBO. Episode gets an Ass+ man.

Statues of this man should be going up in every major city. Streets should be getting renamed. International mourning period. The whole fucking planet should be wearing green! This is HAL FUCKING JORDAN. An intergalactic heroic saviour. A founding member of the Justice League. One of the most legendary Green Lanterns ever! Then they handled his death like he was roadkill on Highway 97, no ceremony, no weight.
