IS IT GARDAR WE SEE AT THE END OF S1 ON THE BOAT?! I always thought it was Einar but now I can't tell haha!!

Yeah - I cannot script intros and outros unless I majorly CUT BACK on how much I'm outputting :')

I also feel the energy kinda isn't there in the same way if I'm just reading a script? I feel like what I said was interesting and more in depth than my off the cuff conversations as I had time to think and formulate.

BUT I don't think it sounds as good in comparison to unscripted outros which are just raw emotion.

PLEASE BE KIND!! :') I thought I'd try something new and it didn't work out the way I thought it would both time wise and how I sound.

Least you tried something new and you felt it didn’t suit your style. There’s no harm in trying, anyone who says otherwise is selling something.

It’s Einar you see on the boat at the end of season 1.

DrSophieDarlingReacts

That's what I thought but looking back - it doesn't quite look like Einar but they may have changed his design slightly :')

There a scene in the first episode of this season where Einar is on a boat being transported as a slave, and what is mostly likely what we saw on the end of last season. By this point in the season, we know Einar is a very important person in Thorfinn’s life, and the ending scene from last season was sort of a climatic introduction to Einar

It’s kinda played off as a joke when snake says he just wants to inherit the book from sverkel, but I recently saw a video on yt discussing the historical accuracy of Vinland saga and apparently the design on the cover of the book comes from a real life Bible made in the 8th century called the Lindisfarne gospels. So I guess it makes sense that snake would want it and probably to try and sell it😂

"Hands are the most expressive part of a character, after the face.. ..You can fake a facial expression, but your hands will show how hard you work...If you show the character's life in their hands, you'll get a good result" - Makoto Yukimura

Finding the right balance between scripted content and spontaneous conversation can be tricky. Your natural ability to articulate your thoughts is a strength, and it often resonates more with your audience when you speak from the heart.💗🗣 Maybe consider using a loose outline instead of a full script. ✏️📜 This way, you can still have key points to guide you while allowing for that raw emotion and spontaneity that makes your delivery engaging. Experimenting with different styles is part of the creative process, and it’s cool that you’re exploring what works best for you. Keep being kind to yourself as you navigate this! 🫶

I appreciate the attention to the visuals you give to Arneid's hands, which reflect her hard work and dedication on the farm. You are also one of the first to draw a connection that goes beyond the physical between Einar and Gardar. It is indeed possible to consider that if Arneid gets along so well with Einar, it is because he shares some personalities traits with her husband. 👍💯 At the very least, you give the benefit of the doubt to Gardar instead of immediately branding him a savage like some viewers on YouTube did.

I always enjoy your English essay-esque analysis’! Great notes on Olmar and Canute’s character :)

Actually Season 1 was done by WIT Studio, the animators responsible for Series 1-3 of Attack on Titan! Season 2 of Vinland saga is done by MAPPA, the animators responsible for series 4 of AOT

Very much this! Don't get me wrong, this was not bad by any means, and it was actually quite interesting to see how you articulate in a formal style, but for what it is worth, in my opinion I prefer your more natural thought process. Like watching you slowly math out the plot points, "show your work" style, vs just giving the solution to an equation from the get go. Hope that anology makes sense lol

At the end of the day, the reason I'm here is because I want to know what you think of the episodes, so whatever format you find conveys those thoughts the most is the one I'd be happy watching. If fully writing those thoughts out doesn't get the results you wanted, maybe a compromise would be just writing down some short notes which you could tether your thoughts to, so you'd get the best of both worlds? Idk, just a suggestion. Episodes 10-13 were actually completely restructured from the manga material. It was originally basically completely linear, which involved a lot of perspective jumping. This got streamlined into basically the "cluster" of canute episodes 10-12, with 13 being the start of this new section of story. Additionally, as a result Gardar got introduced out of the blue in chapter 74, and then due to the monthly schedule basically just fucked off for half a year before returning in 79. Yukimura even apologised in the volume release, giving him a short 4 page comic essentially saying "thanks if you remembered my side plot."

Yeah, at that time books had to be made entirely by hand, so they were expensive as hell. Lot of money to be made if you want to sell one

Honestly, there are shows for which I look for analysis if a reactor provides it. Vinland Saga and Breaking Bad are definitely two shows that deserve analysis imo. If you feel that writing down your thoughts can help you better structure your content (intro + outros), please feel free to do so. But I also want to say that your thoughts on Vinland have been pretty much on point, even without taking notes. There was a coherent structure in today's intro, but yes, it will surely be much more time-consuming, so it will be like treading on a thin line to manage your time. None of us wants you to feel overwhelmed, stressed, or overburdened, because that is a recipe for burnout and is not sustainable. I have only been a member for a month, but I do have a selfish desire, I want to be part of this community for a couple of years in future, and for that, things have to be sustainable. I am enjoying my time watching your reactions Dr Sophie. For Demon Slayer (speaking for myself), I'll be enjoying the ride from your eyes. I'll mostly look forward to their raw reactions. For Frieren, I am here just for happy tears lol. Soaking in all the emotions.

Snake calling Sverkel "gramps" is mostly a cultural Japanese thing, where older people can be called "grandpa" and "grandma" without being related or even without having strong bond between them. Although from my understanding it a bit less common in real life than what Anime makes it look, at least it's less common among adults as the respect for elders is hammered into everyone's identity. It's either just a friendly nickname, or disrespectful comment, dependant on the context and tone of voice. Similar to how Japanese name honorifics (or the lack of) can be used for respect, endearment or insult, depending on who says it to whom, in what tone and in what context. This might not be everyone's opinion, but I think that with Snake it's actually to show his respect towards Sverkel without being direct with it. Snake is too prideful to call him "Sverkel-san", so calling him "gramps" is the compromise.
