NEZUKO! I do love how at first her turning into her full demon form would be a concern again, but it seems she's gotten mentally stronger after that incident. She can now power up on her own whim without relying on rage and hunger. She's completely herself and can think more strategically, using her blood demon art, using the demon's fan against him. Muichiro my confused hero! I'm glad you're slowly warming up to him. I can't wait for you to see Mitsuri in action!! I think you're going to love her fighting style.

In terms of both pacing and adaptation of the manga this episode is the worst within Demon Slayer. The pacing is super slopy and the Tanjiro & Urogi fight feels wrong at times. It's just not it (for me) 😭

Genya was reciting from the Amida Sutra, or the Amitābha Sutra. It is something I think he might plausibly have gotten from his association and apprenticeship with the Stone Hashira, Gyomei, who we saw with prayer beads and wears a mantle adorned with characters that also reference a Buddhist saying, and has a bit of a monastic air to him.

Yeah, Genya is pretty hard to kill lol. He does recover a lot slower than Nezuko though. Like, that girl was getting cut in half in the fight with Daki and recovering instantly. Genya slows down a lot more when hit in comparison in this ep. I had forgotten Genya recited that prayer (?) in s3. I find that kinda cute since he's training with the Stone Hashira who's pretty religious. Like, the connection. The Inosuke withdrawals are so relatable.

Yay! Inosuke love! On your first watch here, did you feel like there were pacing issues? Watching your react this time, I kept feeling like we were jumping back and forth to Tanjiro and Genya doling the same thing over and over and over again. I had the thought of "I get it, let's move on," which is never a good sign when a story makes you feel that way. Iirc, this season might have been stretched out a bit to fill the episode requirements.

The upper 4th demon is one of my favorites. His demon art is so unique and complicated at first. It felt like the characters have to literally solve the puzzle that is the Upper 4th instead of just going for the head.
