Hello naughty naughty Patrons....yes I can see you! Yes...you!

A little birdy told me that you have been taking content from this platform and leaking it to rather sketchy platforms. How sweet you 'taking one for the team' and sharing this content to your fellow man - if there were a medal for this you would be first in line.

Now, I am not (entirely) stupid and realise that it is the internet after all and there isn't much you can do to stop people from sharing your stuff so.....I have a message for you....

...if you are reading this on one of these said platform then, please stop what you are doing right now...yes right now! And head on over to patreon.com/whisperaudiosasmr - I PROMISE you it is a FAR better experience on Patreon than where you're currently reading this from. 

PLUS you can actually come and talk to ME DIRECTLY on here...trust me, I'm MUCH nicer than that keyboard warrior you're talking to...

Like one of you said "let's keep things nice and sweet so she keeps making this content!" You wouldn't want to scare me away now would you? 🥺

For all those hard working, honest patrons who are reading this, I am sorry that some people take advantage of the situation and ruin it for others. My team are working on identifying the culprits and removing them from the platform as well as taking down the material from those sites. 

And lastly, thanks for even giving a sh*t about me enough to even WANT to illegally upload my stuff onto a 3rd party platform. After all, I am just a regular gal. Just like your sister, mother, auntie, niece, cousin... 

The dedication, man-power and finance that it must take for you to do this; the psychology of it is incredibly fascinating!

A way you could sort of combat leaks is using Dropbox for stuff like photo sets and higher tier videos? I know of some creators who use it as you can turn off downloads or at least delay them until a few weeks down the line. Sucks that you'd have to go through all the extra hassle and that it wouldn't show up on the main feed just because of a few people.

Wowsers those images @.@ But yeah, that's the down side of making content on Patreon or any subscription site. It's sadly just the name of the game and you'll drive yourself more crazy trying to prevent it from happening. I'm a game developer and whenever I put out a new update, I see it on the pirated sites the very next day. I've learned to actually leverage these sites as a form of advertisement. Biggest thing I learned was to make sure I have a link directly on every image I post so they're at least still working for me.

I don’t get why someone would pay for patreon and give away your stuff for free. Either they get paid or really need friends. I do remember reading about how Game of Thrones was the most leaked show at the time and one of the execs from HBO said We don’t care because the people who pirate it aren’t going to pay for it either way. Still you should make the most obvious places take it down. If they even will. F*** em.

What about the psychology of the person(s) who is searching every corner of the internet to report things back to you that will only-ultimately freak you out? Why are they visiting sites that provide leaked content in the first place? What is their true motivation? Desperate for your attention, positive or negative, and developing an unhealthy parasocial relationship? I'd be leary of listening to anyone on the internet, but that's just me. Friend or foe, they are anonymous and it's almost impossible to identify true intentions.

Internet piracy has been mainstream since the days of Limewire and Piratebay in the early 2000s. Multibillion dollar movie production and video game companies like Netflix and Electronic Arts spend millions on new anti-piracy measures in their products year after year and yet they're always defeated in no time at all and only end up hurting their legitimate customers. The ONLY way to prevent piracy is for the content to have never existed in the first place. It's an inevitability not worth getting worked up about. It's 2022. It takes less than 60 seconds to download or screenshot anything on the internet and re-upload it somewhere else and its been like this for 20+ years. Everyone and their mother has the basic tools built right into their computer or phone to make it happen. People going out of their way to search the dark corners of the internet to report back leaks to content creators to get them worked up is just not productive discourse and is probably driven more for personal clout. Any popular content creator will have content leaked and people suggesting this is newsworthy or something to be alarmed about would be akin to having someone report to the world that clothing gets wet when standing in rain. These kinds of idiot websites get shut down all the time and then three new ones will spawn in its place. There's probably 1-3 people out of the 600+ patrons on here leaking stuff and it gets dished out to morons that would rather scavenge the internet for hours, days or weeks for content on shady websites, hoping someone will upload something new rather than just ponying up an insignificant amount of money to get direct access to the entire library of content they're searching for and supporting the original content creator in the process. These kinds of people aren't worth a sliver of attention and there's zero reason to believe any content creator would ever see a dime from them. Giving them attention and attempting to take action probably emboldens them if anything. Sorry if this is long winded and sounds blunt, but just two cents from someone that works in the cyber security/IT sphere. I've followed on Youtube for years but joined here fairly recently. Every time I check the subscriber counter here it seems to have jumped double if not triple digits, so clearly Charlette is doing a good job. Anyone up in arms in the comments shocked or surprised about any sort of leak needs a reality check.

For the rest of us, we should be encouraging others to contribute and support our favourite ASMR artist so we can continue to enjoy pics, videos and audio we have experienced to date :-)
