It began on Friday...

My little niece & nephew were over for a sleepover as they do every summer holiday but I had forgotten to book swimming! So we went ice skating instead, (Tonya Harding eat your heart out haha!)

Then we watched 'Independence Day' with them in the evening, which I 'think' they liked 😅 - I remember being shit scared of the scene where the alien wraps its tentacle round the professors neck when I was little; I literally had to cover my ears and eyes everytime that bit was on haha!

In the morning we had a delicious (but somewhat unhealthy) breakfast of sugar waffles and fruit, then once they went home we looked after our neighbours dog and Miko had a fun play date with her!

In the evening we went to see 'The Meg 2' which was a crock of shit (sorry if you liked it but...I...just...can't)

Sunday morning we were going out the door to play badminton but this random stray cat had appeared on our doorstep! He was skin and bone and looked like he had been badly neglected. So naturally we thought 'f badminton' we have a duty to this cat!

So we fed him and made sure he had some shelter and pretty much fattened him up all day. About an hour later he caught the FATTEST mouse and proceeded to devour it on our doorstep; bones n all!

He dissapeared in the evening but was back this morning (monday) so today we are going to try to find out who owns him....and if no one does....then I guess we will have a new family member...

(I am kind of concerned tho that a black cat happens to show up on my doorstep....don't they say that witches familiars find them...?!)

Sunday afternoon...I actually tuned in to watch the women's world cup final as England were playing Spain. I don't normally like football but for some reason watching the women's football is like WAY more enjoyable than the mens! Shame we lost but Spain were the better team in the end!

In the eve we watched the original 1998 'Ring' film directed by Hideo Nakata, which was SO frustrating! I was more concerned that this woman was leaving her 5 year old son all alone at home everyday and he had to walk to school and back by himself; THAT part was the REAL horror storyline!

So yeah, it's been an eventful one!

I shall keep you updated about the cat (who I am non-officially calling Gomez)

What did you get up to?

gotta love the traditional cat acquisition method of 'oh I guess we have a(nother) cat now'

My brother and I explored our suburb and parts of the river on our bikes like we used to 25 years ago. It was fun :D

Prepared for a hurricane that became a tropical storm. Then at one point an earthquake hit. Have you seen Oppenheimer? Great film! Hope you enjoyed your time with your niece and nephew - before you know it - college age.

No boys this weekend so it was a boring 2 days of continuing my GoT binge. Never saw the series before so thought I'd watch it, now on S5:E10

Black cats are lucky in some parts of England, supposed to give them to newly wed women or something. As for what I did, I chopped wood in the mornings and sat infront of the fan and watched TV so I didn't die from the heat the rest of the day.

Bless you for helping out that lil' scruffian! 🙏 I hope you can take him in without causing Mrs Tibbs any undue stress

Why would you be concerned about a whitch's familiar finding you? Being a witch would be awesome surely?
