Hi Demons! 😈

Version 0.78 Part 1 is now available to download! You can download it from reidlogames.com, under Subscriber Downloads.

Part 2 is already in development. It will be short, but it will be released soon to complement Part 1.

Version 0.78 will consist of 3 parts.

Because this month was going to be financially very bad, and because I needed more time to develop the events properly. My herniated disc limits me a lot, and when the number of subscribers isn't enough to support the development, these things happen. That's why I've decided to split it into parts. V0.78 part 1 will not launch natively in Linux from the demonboysaga .sh script file unlike the previous version. The downside to this is if it has to be launched under wine with the windows .exe file it cannot load saves from the previous version which was launchable via the .sh file. I have no wish to start the game again from scratch. Can you please patch it and ensure in plays in Linux.

Hi Macvaliant, I use Ren'Py's compiler to compile the game. It's not my own tool; it's part of the engine. I've always done it the same way. If you need a save file, I can send you one. But it should work for you, since I've always done things the same way, and if it worked for you before, it should work now too. Greetings!

Thanks for your reply. It doesn't work though, which is my point. I have limited knowledge of how these things work or how I can get around such problems when they occur, and the same problem sometimes rarely occurs with other RenPy games where one version of the game launches in Linux but the next one doesn't. So, it's not just your game. I'm just suggesting that devs need to at least try and launch their game in Linux before it's put out there. Then they themselves can work around the problem, or notify the devs who make the RenPy compiler that there is a compatibilty issue. The end user of the game cannot readily do that because they're not using the tool. It might save some end user frustrations. Consider it a bug report. Thanks for the offer of a save file. But, I'll wait until your next release and hopefully that one launches and picks up my saves.

I can try to compile a Linux version, but I can't test it myself because I don't have Linux. Let me know and I'll create the version for you.

From my limited understanding when there is the .sh file present in the root folder it's generally both windows and Linux campatible. You can make RenPy avn's that don't have .sh file present and only the .exe is. So, they would be windows only unless you use wine or such in Linux to run windows programs. I noticed that in the properties of the .sh file it hadn't been checked as executable. I did so but it still wouldn't launch. Perhaps there's some other flags that were missed during compiling?. I'm not aware that there is per say a "Linux version" as they're usually both windows/Linux compatible and the executable for both is in the root folder. If you want to try a recompile I'll gladly test it. Thank You.

When you compile it, you can choose Windows + Linux, or you can choose Linux only.
