Brewmaster Odar Thorbruk was on top of the world, both literally and figuratively. Since he was not a dwarf to scorn at a good challenge, he decided to build his brewery on a mountain peak. The roads were dangerous, the cliffs and blizzards ever threatening. Yet, the dwarf’s business flourished. Following humble beginnings, his establishment met some level of success with the local nobility. He crushed his rivals mercilessly, stifling them economically when convenient, or physically when needed. He always had at least a few cut-throats in his ledger. If anything, they were useful to keep his employees in line. As he grew older, Odar did not become more lenient. He became sly and bitter. That’s when the party comes into play.

Corrupted Spirits (Eldritch variant): Down in the valley, villages and towns have been struck by a recent string of poisonings. Many fell ill, some died, a few even experienced terrible and unholy mutations. The queen’s spies managed to track the source of that cosmic disease to an old distillery, up in the mountains. It seems that a strange cult took over the equipment and is now giving it new “spirit”, so to speak. Vile tentacles are now creeping along the stills, pulsing with false life. It is up to you as the GM to determine the effects of the accursed brew, from mild poisoning to game-altering mutations!

Bitter Rival (Ablaze variant): One of Odar’s few surviving rivals tasked the party to put an end to the old dwarf’s business. It is preferable not to harm the workers but a few collaterals can scarcely be avoided when settling these grudges. Some parties may prefer a more sneaky approach and eliminate Odar cleanly in his own workplace, adding insult to injury. Others might prefer more…incendiary measures.
