1. Last time I was in NYC I actually met Groff and THIS is the show that came to mind while I was talking to him, and ever since I've been worried he just thinks I'm thinking of him naked all the time lol (there is a lot of nakedity in this btw if you hadn't got that already) 2. He did in fact also voice the reindeer 😂

Only heard about this, that it's good, so another new one to dive into. And I really liked Jonathan Groffs acting in Glee, the only other thing I remember I have watched him in so far. Since you do three things at the moment(YR uncuts, heartbreak high, Looking) are you gonna schedule it, or just randomely release, when it fits?

Few minutes in and Alex just said "this is us".😂 From the first time watching ASWT, the dynamic between Alex and Josh reminded me so much of Augustine and Patrick 😄 can't wait for you to dig into this series more.

I believe you will like looking, but they didn't end the season 2 well. But they did wrap it up in the movie looking. Make sure too watch the movie after season 2

Scotty, the character who is helping Augustin at the studio is played by Tanner Cohen. Tanner was in a film from 2008 called "Were the World Mine." Amazing film, well worth taking a 'look' at.

Oh I'm so glad you liked it. Looking is pretty high in my rankings of LGBTQ+ series. Sort of the gay American response to Lip Service in some ways. Very stark, very real. Can't wait for more x

I'm about to click play and I just want to put this on record before I see your reaction. I'm hoping you are as critical of this show as I am. Attractive people with nothing to say. At the time this show was greenlighted and aired, "Girls" was a major hit and this was put out there as the 'gay version' or an updated QAF (which I also think is garbage). I wish they had never made the "Girls" comparison because it raised my expectations. So anyway, here I go... *clicks PLAY*

I love this show. Andrew Haigh, the writer and director of the film Weekend is also a writer/director on this series. Was very sad when it wasn't picked up for a 3rd season. Really looking forward to watching your reactions.

17:19 A condo is an apartment/flat that you can eventually own. I'm assuming flats in the UK are rented monthly/quarterly with no possibility of ownership. I sent you guys a PM a week ago about a show topic. You should consider doing an episode explaining British life as seen in Heartstopper. From season 1 for example, questions people might have, like -- Is that a pvt school? Do all UK schools have fab art depts like that? Do teens really wear age buttons on their birthdays? Charlie's house - is that a "suburban" home a family would own or is that council housing (whatever that means)? WTF is a specialist sports team (those guys were MEN)? Why did Charlie wear a jumper and blazer but Nick only had to wear a shirt and tie in school? What are A Levels? Does every seaside town have a funfair with a merry-go-round/arcade/photobooth? They are in almost all the UK TV I see, the country is littered with them. Sure, most of that can be Googled, but seeing you explain it would be fun.

just a quick response but flats in the UK can be owned (with service charge and ground rent fees), partially owned, privately owned or council flats. council flats are owned by the local council (government) and rented to those who cannot afford housing. The council housing system is fucked but I am not in the mood to open that kettle of fish.

If you like scary movies he’s also in “Knock at the Cabin”. I don’t do scary movies usually but I like Ben Aldridge co stars with Jonathan. That was my first exposure to him. Then I moved to Looking. This was all early this year.

And in the subject of cruising, have you boys seen Beach Rats with Harris Dickinson? An amazing, yet a little sad, film about a young guy coming to terms with being gay while navigating his friendships and personal trauma. Highly recommend. big kiss from Brazil x

I have, in fact, seen JGroff’s naked ass in person; I saw him in the original production of Spring Awakening and had special tickets where we sat on stage as part of the background “chorus.” If you’ve ever seen the show or know of the production, then you know at one point there’s a scene with him and Lea Michele where they have sex for the first time, and he pulls his pants down partially. From the audience, it doesn’t seem like a big deal, but from my vantage point on stage right, I got quite an unexpected view of his naked ass 🤣🤣

In the US we typically use the word apartment to describe a unit that is rented in a building that has a single owner. Condos or condominiums are similar, but each unit has individual ownership and the the common areas are governed by a board appointed by the collective owners (HOA).

Two things... 1) I lived in SF for close to 20 years (only recently relocated to San Diego (southern cali) and I loved the use of the city as a character itself. Also, #teamRichie all the way with this series. That's my hommie! 2) Have you both watched/reacted to the other film by this director/creator called "Weekend" - it set the tone that he used in SF for Looking. Worth a watch/reaction if you're *looking* for something related. Also, DORIS... goddamn! That woman is a comedic goddess!

Just started the reaction, but speaking of Murray Bartlett, I’d love you guys to react to White Lotus. It’s not exclusively queer, but there are queer characters, including Murray, and it’s just a phenomenal show. Only 14 episodes total!!

Just in case someone hasn’t posted already, a Condo is basically a smaller scale home you can own in a building, it looks like an apartment but you can purchase it, and not have to pay rent (although there are plenty of fees, and bills that come along with owning a condo that make it feel like rent).

I guess for me it's mostly a mental health / productivity thing because I used to spend so much time on my phone that I had to delete those kind of apps or I'd spiral and get no work done. Girls must have been pretty bad for me since I needed to really dig it out from the sediments of my memory. Girls was irritating for me in the same way as gilmore girls, unlikeable characters with very brainy dialogues, ufff.

Yay! So excited you guys are watching this show! I was so into it when it first aired and was so sad that it didn't last longer. It's one of those shows that you really end up forming a very strong connection with all the characters... even those you hated at first! Lol It will be a fun re-watch for me as I haven't seen it since it ended.

Yep, I'm with you on this. I watched it recently after a recommendation from a friend. I wasn't impressed. Very little story and a very atypical depiction of life for most gay people.

I'm not with you on this one Diane. I was disappointed by the show, for me it was such an atypical representation of the everyday life of gay people, gay men in particular, although the depiction of the actual everyday lives of gay men could just be bit boring as a drama. I just didn't connect with any of the characters. I think that Eastsiders did a better job of it but then again it's all subjective. I'll probably continue watching with ASWT though, just to hear their take on it.🙂

Eastsiders is good as well. I just watched Looking for the first time probably in January. I had just become aware of Jonathan Groff after seeing him in “Knock at the Cabin”. Perhaps my motivation approaching the series was different. I did get invested in the characters though. Not every show is for everyone. That’s why there are different “flavors” which is wonderful. There have been a couple of shows that aren’t my cup of tea but I still watch along with Alex and Josh. Sometimes I even learn a thing or two 😁

Hey Diane; update. I'm going to have to roll back a bit on what I said about not liking Looking. Just finished watching series 2 and must admit it's so much better than series 1. I never took to season 1 but I love season 2, maybe the characters grew on me more or maybe I'm just an old romantic at heart. lol

Omg I love how much dirtier and gayer Alex seems to be compared to Josh. With this contrast, their chemistry is so palpable.
