Frances

How about „dearest gentle ASWT fans“ 😂😍🤩

IAmom

Yaaaaaaay 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Sophie

THIS is gonna be WAY too good!!!

Jacinta

Ooh, it's Nicholaaaaasss!

Frances

This is raunchy af and I’m all here for it 🙌🏽🫠🤩

Rainydais

“We’ll get to learn history at the same time…” …. yeahhhh… that’s why I’ll watch it.. sure 👀😅 This looks sooo good!

Kim Engel

Can we include Interview with a Vampire in the category of retelling historical, straight-washed stories? 😄

Lou

To answer your question: Yes, it's a true story 😁 George Villiers existed and was the lover of James I. Fun Fact: In the RWRB book, Henry actually mentions them when he talks to Alex about queer figures in history. And now Nicholas is playing George aswell... 😂

Frances

It’s definitely A Story Worth Re-Telling!!!

Hugh Campbell

Julianne Moore was also in the excellent A Single Man (2009) directed by designer Tom Ford and also starring Colin Firth.

Susanne

I am SO excited for this!! 2024🔥🔥

Mary E Crum

I can't wait for this. Looks awesome and I am here for it!

Stian Kristoffersen

This has gone completely under the radar! So looking forward to 2024 and NG as yet another queer character. 😃❤️

Amanda

Wow. Grab your fans- a story worth retelling indeed.

Ali Laura

Why was my first thought aren't you guys cold in vest tops 😂 Maybe it's warmer in London than in the Midlands... Yes, a Story Worth Retelling! ❤ I wonder how many historical stories were actually queer...

Diane Furlong

Oooh Okay Alex and Josh, This is Definitely Worth Telling. And I really think that 🪭🪭🪭 will be needed both literally and figuratively! (Hint 🪭 icon on merch?) Please 🙏😘

Lo

I believe Nicholas said there are 14 people he "sleeps with" in this show, so you best believe Raunchy is the word

Mathew Aquino

Oh wow! I can’t wait to see you guys react and I have to agree. Historians have known for centuries about famous men and women who are absolutely had same sex romances and they didn’t feature in Media because it was against the law and then just seen as a sin or gross. The relatively recent film, the favorite explores the sapphic side of Queen Elizabeth the first ( who was a virgin to the extent that my late mother was meaning, not at all.) Julius Caesar was described as every woman’s husband in every man’s wife, because he was such an enthusiastic bisexual. And on it goes . I would love to see you guys do a history section!

Sam

Nicholas' character in Bottoms is so much funnier because he's so good in these serious gay roles.

Clash

Can’t wait for 2024, Thank you for this video. 🔥🤯🤪

😂 When i was reading RWRB I kept having to put the book down to Google about all of these people that were being mentioned. Teach that in history please and thanks, i’d have paid more attention in class 💃🏽

Noah

Fun fact: in the National Portrait Gallery in London, their portrait of George hangs next to James I with a little sign explaining their relationship!

Chris Mackenzie

Ooh I hadn't heard of this before, but it has all the ingredients (Nicholas) to be a lot of fun😈. Can't wait to see it. P.S. Aancient Ro(mans) and Greeks were said to have sex with men for fun, and sex with Woman for procreation.

Mike B

Awesome, thanks for the heads up 😃

Ljaljui Galuljigulj

I’m here for Nicholas 💕 the trailer looks 💯 💯💯💯 Amazing actors and the team can’t wait 😭😭

Luna

Yay, can't wait for this! 😊Some fun facts for yall (since I can't help myself but to look into it whenever something is based on a true story)😊 SPOILERS ahead I guess 😜 - One of George's titles was Gentleman of the Bedchamber. Whose duties are described as "Assisting the monarch with dressing, waiting on him when he ate, guarding access to his bedchamber and closet and providing companionship" - George was the first commoner in more than a century to be elevated to the position of Duke, the Dukedom of Buckingham was recreated for a second time for him -He was the only Duke of England at that time who was NOT a member of the royal family. - George once wrote to James: "I desire only to live in the world for your sake" -while James once wrote to George: "God bless you, my sweet child and wife, and grant that ye may ever be a comfort to your dear father and husband" - George and James were together for 11 years. James (born 1566) and George (born 1592) had a 26 year age gap. They met in 1614 when George was 21 and James was 47 and remained together until James untimely death due to illness 1625 at age 58 -George died in 1628 at the age of 35 when was assassinated by disgruntled soldier who had once been under his command

Charity Rose Elkins

“Is everyone just having seEeEeEeEx!?!?” I’ve never seen such perfect timing 🤣🤣

Hella Loop

if this remains the true soundtrack, this series could be a true masterpiece

Dominique Berton

Gentlemen of the Bed Chamber anyone? Real title. I'm going to read the book that was posted in the Book chat before it airs. There is a historical account and a fictional one I think. They will be on my Christmas reading list.

Chris Metzger

This is going to be so good! It appears as though Nicholas has become more versatile in his film roles. A bottom in RW&RB and now a top in this. Good on ya, Nick!

Jacqui Chesterton

That one flash of Nicola Walker - immediately my level of investment multiplied 😆 God she's magical.

Shari

just need to know when I have to reup my STARZ subscription in the US. Lol. STARZ is great for European historical drama…

Keatia Savage

Nicholas has been playing queer characters since the beginning of his career, before he became more well know, so I don’t know if he’s getting the roles because we thirst after him lol

Amira Mustapha

GUYS!!! I love you!! This was not even on my radar (neither was Fellow Travelers) THANK YOU!!!! I'm so excited for this show!

Jamie

When I saw this trailer yesterday via Nick’s Instagram, I was like “Josh and Alex are going to die!!” 😂

Sam S

Watching you two blag your way through English history and Julianne Moore’s film credentials was hilarious! I almost didn’t need to see the trailer (okay, I’d already seen it before this video dropped), because I enjoyed just laughing at your introduction!! 🤣🤣

Reem

“Ga - lit - zine” I think it’s pronounced that way 🤍

Reem

I’m a straight cis female and looking forward to this show. I’m glad that a lot more diverse shows are becoming mainstream! ❤️

Elina

I was really curious about what tone this series was gonna take exactly. Looks like it's somewhere between Black Sails and Spartacus. Both from STARZ, and I loved them, I freaking love STARZ in general.

Bananies

Julianne Moore won the Oscar for “Still Alice” as a woman with early onset Alzheimer’s. It was a riveting performance. Can’t wait to see her and Nick in this.

D.A. Rowley

Nick Galitzine's last name is easy to pronounce...just sound it out...... Gal It Zine...lol

The book this is based on posits that George assassinated James so he and Charles could take over. James was not governing how they wanted to govern. Charles I and George also had a close "friendship."

Luna
>>122418843

Didn't know this was based on a book. Like historical fiction? Or a biography of sorts? I looked up the actual historical figures not the book. Didn't come across anything that suggested him and Charles were lovers tho

Pip

I may have got hold of the wrong end of the stick here but Josh - stable boy/stable hand; chill, no need to hold your head in your hands. You're never going to get it right everytime for everyone on your channel. I don't think anyone is going to be upset.

Soraya

omg! So happy to see you react to this so soon. Can't wait for the show to come out!

Charlie
>>122418843

It’s based on a non-fiction book, “ The King’s Assassin” by Benjamin Woolley

Inka

shakespeare definitely was queer!! some of his sonnets were addressed to the fair youth who was a man. i guess some people still don't like to admit he wasn't straight (or don't know), but i think it's relatively widely accepted

JASON ALEXANDER

omg that tailer was fantastic.! Nicholas G embodies this period piece perfectly. I can't wait to see it.

Dominique Berton

@Alex Just make sure you have located the fan before you guys start reviewing.

Dominique Berton

Maybe you can get Josh his own fan for Christmas?

Sofia

A story worth retelling *mic drop*

Michelle Hopkins

Omg how am I going to watch this - don’t have Sky Atlantic🪭🪭🪭

MaryBeth Gay
>>122410947

I do that all the time. That's how I've learned the majority of the history not taught in schools.

MaryBeth Gay
>>122418843

I think the term "favorite" was used as a euphemism for lover. So George was called James's favorite and everyone knew what that meant without having to spell it out. Kind of like "special friend" was used later.

Luna
>>122418843

Yeah but now they straight call them lovers when talking about their r/s. So it's confusing that they would call George and James lovers but not George and Charles. There must not be enough historical evidence discovered yet to call them lovers otherwise they use that term as they do for George and James 🤔

Alanna Smith

i believe its coming march 2024

Charity Rose Elkins

Oh my god, I just realized where I know the king from…it’s Van Gogh from that Doctor Who episode!!! 😱

Hannah Howden

I am SO READY for this omg 😱 did some digging and idk how much they’re going to have to embellish this story Also the irony of Nick playing the “first openly gay prince” to a notorious king’s lover

Alina Thiemann

love watching you guys'videos....nothing better after a long day at work :)

Sofia

Well, I think the reason why Nick gets cast to play queer characters so often is because he is a great actor and embodies his characters so well. He puts all his heart and soul and emotions into them and makes them feel so real. His micro expressions are so on point. He makes all of his characters feel so real and that is why I fall in love with them so easily. I can’t wait to watch him be ruthless in this series and get mounted (as one of his fellow actors said) by many, many people. 😛

Gina Lipkin
>>122505590

Male actors dressed as female roles then and played the romances, so it's highly possible xx

Gina Lipkin
>>122505590

Jane Austin's real book Pride and Promiscuity is very raunchy her publishers would not let her publish her gay sex works, her sister hid the original writing and it became discovered and fills in so many gaps. How much more went on that has been hidden?
