Ann-Marie Still

I just screamed 😂 I bloody love this film. Not entirely sure what that says about me to be fair 🙃

Crystal Pritchard

Did I immediately stop what I was doing to come watch this reaction?? Yes, yes I did. I was ironically watching another Saltburn reaction 😂😂😂😭

JustinThyme

Oh yes! I’ve been waiting for this! Can’t wait to watch after work!🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

Strawmary

Was about to watch this movie but decided not to because you didn’t have a reaction to it 😂 but now you’ve given me a reason to watch it!

Aleah McClendon

YALL POST THIS RIGHT AS MY CLASS IS ABOUT TO START😭 I want to skip class now!!!

Chris Mackenzie

What a nice way to wake up to! Thanks, guys. Can’t wait to watch! Jacob is amazing; loved him in Euphoria, which would be a great show for you to review. He’s also Australian, so I might be a little biased. Apparently, he’s on the shortlist to be the next Bond! However, it’s Barry Keoghan who steals the show and should win some awards for this movie!

Sophie Marples

I saw this at the cinema I actually really loved it such a change of pace from every other movie at the minute. Not gunna lie though there were some rather disturbing moments 😂

Stian Kristoffersen

Oh yes!💚 I'm excited to see what you think about this one. I was conflicted when I watched it. It's beautifully made but I still don't know what I feel about the plot. Maybe your insightful comments can clarify... 🤔

NessaC

Omg yessssssss!

NessaC

Love yous for watching this but not the Ollie kinda love because that’s just f*cked up!

Joe Lancaster

Oh I've been waiting for this. Looking forward to the reaction. You guys are the best!

Sara Nissen

Yes I've heard this film is pretty dark, different and surprising, and I was debating with myself if to watch it, but I like Barry Keoghan, watched him in The Banshees Of Inisherin among other things, and now you are doing a reaction to it, so I might as well jump right into it...

Amanda

This is going to be hilarious.

Rachael H

My life is complete! 💖🤣🤣🫠

Susanne

Oh, I watched it and tought Id love to see you react to it, but thought you wouldnt, cause its not really queer representation. Now I got the notification that you did! Yay!!!

Diane Furlong

This was a tough one! I’ll be back to watch with you this evening

Prinsassy

3 times I was speechless 🙈 crazy stuff!!

Jennifer Fell

I think its queer... Oliver and Farleigh are both portrayed as queer ? I think everyone hoped for an oliver/Felix romance but that not happening doesn't make it not queer?

Laura Ibarra

Never heard of it, watched the trailer - I’ll have to watch this one along with you because I don’t know if I can do it alone 😂

Naava

Ufff, as much as I love to watch stuff in their full length with you, I think this one I'll check through a youtube one, way too intense :D

Noah

I think this film made me gasp more than any film ever has before

Joe Lancaster
>>127145245

Hi Diane! Did you get snow up your way? We got about 7inches here and for the Nashville area that's quite a lot

Sam

I was not expecting this reaction! The song at the end (Murder on the Dance Floor) has been stuck in my head for DAYS after watching this.

Justin Walls

Part of the turn-on is that Felix isn’t aware of the bath water thing. When you give permission for something (something completely innocuous by the way, it hurts no one) then it becomes less of a stolen moment and that’s part of what he is thrilled by. It’s the taboo of being caught, of having a secret. I mean, if you’re willing to eat ass (and he likely will eat anything), some cummy bath water seems rather tame.

BG

I mean. I really didn’t think I had the mental capacity to sit through that again but I needed to see your reactions 🤣🤣🤣🤣🙃

Darrin Bodner

omg ... I cannot wait to watch you guys watch this 🍿🍿🍿

Henry Riley

OMG FINALLY YOU GUYS WATCHED IT!!

Emily

I'm having such a dilemma right now because I want to see your reaction but I just... am not interested in watching this entire movie again lol. I may just wait until the YT reaction is up... IDK

Crystal Pritchard

Great reaction!! I adore Emerald Fennell, such a genius move to include Michael as a red herring in the beginning. Oliver seems so normal by comparison that we as the audience immediately trust him, and then are taken on quite the ride.

Archie

The grave scene was improved

AK

Maybe my favorite of your reactions to date! So much fun! Loved your reactions to all the outrageous scenes!

Mel Baker

I'm scared to watch it again... already traumatized!

Jamie Schmidt

Behind the scenes graveyard: Script: Oliver lies on grave and cries. Barry: Let me try something. He improvised that. 🫣

Chris Metzger

This was just insane! I think all of us had the same reaction watching it for the first time. Jaws on the floor and wondering what the fuck we just watched.

Sara Nissen

Now I've watched it, and yes a lot of times I was feeling like you were feeling; grosed out, surprised, awkward laughing at times and thinking what the hell am I watching, starting to dislike Oliver after first feeling like he might just be not good at socialising and making friends and being too nice, but obviously there were a lot more to it. The Oxford university reminded me a bit of The Riot Club, and the grand mansion and other stuff a bit of Brideshead revisited, but maybe thats just me. I have watched other movies where someone manipulates their way in and kinda take over in a dark way, but still this was just.... and I've read something about Murder on the dancefloor climbing up the charts again 😆

Shari

I mean… he played the long long long game…

IAmom

🥳🛁🪦🍆😬🩸😋🫎🏳️‍🌈🫣

Amber Rhone

I was waiting on this reaction!

Jenny Lukan

I saw this in theaters back in December and watching your reactions was the best! Couple of fun facts: Barry Keoghan improvised fucking the grave (he asked for a closed set because he wanted to go for it) and climbing onto the hospital bed. He also didn’t wear a prosthetic for the last scene. Also, I don’t know if anyone caught early on with the story about the doppelgänger - Felix walks by the window in the background even though he was sitting at the table.

Justin Kayser

I had no plans on watching this movie, but if you two are reacting to it. I’m all in!!!

Sam S

I’m so glad I waited to watch this for the first time with you instead of on my own…I needed your movie pauses to break it up a bit. This movie got the most visceral reactions from me SO many times. It was a wild ride, and I think having watched it once, I’m not sure that I can face watching it again anytime soon (or maybe ever). 🫣😳

Michael Craig

It was so entertaining to watch so much pearl clutching! You two are the best...

Michael Craig

This is like the antimatter version of 'Heartstopper', you know what I mean? You need both to understand the spectrum of human sexuality and behavior.

Meral Gattan

Thank you so much for reacting to this, I’ve been meaning to watch this and im glad i could watch it with you for the first time its way more enjoyable than watching it by myself ❤️❤️❤️❤️. Im sorry might have been annoying for requesting a movie that I really want to see you guys react to but I promise this is the last time im doing so 😭, i would really love it seeing you guys watch Firebird 😩🙏🏼🙏🏼

Hi yes, we got about 4” of snow and then freezing rain so there’s icy areas. My Nashville friends were keeping me posted about the accumulation. Do they clear the highways properly? Traffic is always a mess on the Interstates

Joe Lancaster
>>127145245

I feel like they do a decent job of keeping the highways clear. It's just the on/off ramps and side roads that stay pretty slick.

Dennis Verner

Knowing just a tiny bit about this movie I didn't think I'd ever watch it. But watching something with you guys is always a treat. I can't say this movie is a treat but something that can shock the both of you has got to be worth taking a chance. Bathtub...your faces! Ha!

Domenic Cieri

Love this movie. So raw. So earthy and passionate. The ultimate narcissist! Always love your commentary and reactions

Yasmin Khoshnood

Jacob Elordi was my favorite part in this film. I loved looking at him and he's a fantastic actor! This was way too intense for me. I didn't hate it but didn't like it either. I think it's a brilliant film but didn't enjoy it.

Dennis Verner

Yeah, watching it with you guys made it worth it. Thanks gentlemen.

Sarah Vallance (Accessible Yoga with Sarah)

Loved your reaction to this! I watched it for the first time a few weeks ago. It takes a lot to shock me - but some of the scenes in this film were genuinely shocking. At the end of the film I couldn’t decide whether it was a good film or not, or whether I liked it or not. But I couldn’t stop thinking about it, and the more I thought about it I realised it’s a bit of a masterpiece. The shocking scenes showed the depths of his obsession, and the dancing scene at the end was the ultimate “I own this house, I can do whatever I like here now”. Really interesting characters too - I like how you spend 95% of the film hating Farleigh, but at the end you realise he was right to distrust Oliver all along, however un-likable he was. And Rosamund Pike was incredible - all of her lines were perfection! I imagine this is going to do very well at awards season, and it’s deserved. As for queer representation - definitely a guide of red flags in relationships and what not to do! When you mentioned about Oliver maybe being Pansexual my mind screamed “noooo he does not represent me” 😂😂😂 thank you for reacting to this!

Chris Mackenzie

Your reaction was brilliant in response to this. I had watched the movie earlier, eagerly anticipating your reactions to Oliver's engagement in various, um, let's say taboo activities. It's one of my favorite reaction videos so far. .

Diane Furlong

Well, this is certainly not my Go To kind of movie. I had a tough time getting through it the other day. It was a bit easier watching along with you Alex and Josh! It was SO Dark but I will say Barry Keoghan needs to win some sort of award because his acting was amazing! Thanks Guys, Good luck with the editing Alex.

Darrin Bodner

There are lots of easter eggs and foreshadowing in the film For instance, in the very beginning of the film, instead of "Zadok the Priest", the chorus is actually singing "Oliver Quick". And her pouring the glass of wine until it overflowed was foreshadowing of her demise. Not to mention all the references to greek mythology throughout. It's a great film. Totally messed up. But great.

JustinThyme

Oh, this was so much fun to watch with your reactions! I really like this film (don’t know what that says about me!) and it’s so well out together. There is so much foreshadowing and great dialogue that it’s fun to visit and discuss!

Jamie

Everyone was talking about the bathtub scene and how hot it was, so I definitely thought it was going to be the hottest scene going into this film but then I saw the Oliver/Farleigh scenes and the "vampire" scenes and thought those were the hottest. This might be TMI (sorry) but maybe it's because I am a woman who is into women that I didn't find the vampire scene so shocking. Watching you guys watch it was funny. I kept thinking "Oh, that's no big deal" lol. I mean, I don't seek that kind of thing out, definitely, but as a woman, sometimes things happen down there and you get your period at the MOST inopportune time EVER and you're mortified but you keep going. whether you're on the giving or receiving end of it. I don't know that I'd drink anyone's cum water though, It's not the cum that would bother me so much as the dirt from your body and stuff, you know? No thanks. Truly very sorry about the TMI, it was just funny watching you watch that and I felt like sharing. Feel free to ignore. <3. Anyway, I loved that this film was basically like "be gay. Do crimes. Eat the rich." Frankly, I support that!!

Makayla Hall

Well that was an experience and half. I definitely am not the same person I was before I watched that.

Nomi Saxton

"hopefully that's the weirdest thing we see!" Lol, little innocent cherubs.

Jacqueline Hahn

Crying with laughter watching you two watching this! And I said EXACTLY the same as Alex at the closing credits..."WTF did I just watch?!??!!!" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Marion Riederer

I watched „Saltburn“ before so I could focus an your reaction. And it was perfect! By the way, the scene on the grave was improvised by Barry Keoghan.

Nikki Hearn

There's alot of hidden references, definately look it up. It was done so well! Although it blew my mind I've already watched it 5 times! 😅 Greta and Margot did an outstanding job, a feminine touch to detail goes a long way! 🥳🙌 Every inch of the production was done on purpose, it's just an exquisite piece of film that was made to make an impact!! (which we all felt by the end) Don't worry Josh, Barry is still a unique babe 😘 He also didn't use a prosthetic in the final scene.. just saying hehe 🍆

Gina Lipkin

Very disturbed and disturbing, crazy main character twists, a psychopath calculated manipulative, scary murderer, lots to unravel. Being rich is not the main thing in life, beware who you trust and believe!

Gina Lipkin

Good acting to make us feel shocked

Gina Lipkin

You many enjoy "tipping the Velvet" a gay film in 30's London

Dennis Rhoberts

This movie is more stylistic than substantive, so there really isn’t a message. It’s just fun, erotic, and disturbing. That said, there are absolutely underlying themes throughout the film that are meant to start discussions. I also loved that the queerness wasn’t a main focal point of the plot. The representation was there with Oliver and Farleigh, but that wasn’t the only interesting thing about their characters. There should be a balance of media centered around queerness, and media where queer identities are present but don’t define the characters/storylines. Loved rewatching with you guys, and definitely look into some of Emerald Fennell’s recent interviews for more insight. ❤️😊

Ann-Marie Still
>>127218792

It really is a masterpiece. I've watched it 5 times now as well and notice little bits every time. The foreshadowing of Felix, the first little lies. And I think Alex and Josh's reaction at the end has been mirrored by pretty much everyone who has watched it. Genius!!!

KL M

Just finished my 3rd time watching just your reaction! I have wondered in the past if you would ever do reactions to just really great films regardless of the queer content aspect. This solidifies, to me, that you should when time and schedules allow!!! Love you boys!!! ❤️❤️❤️

JASON ALEXANDER

you guys have to watch ELITE ON NETFLIX. IT IS A FANTASTIC SERIES.

Dd44🩷💜💙

Barry and Jacob actually kissed in the movie but apparently the producers cut it ?!

Sylvia

Hoooooooo baby I knew there were gonna be some Face Journeys (TM) in this reaction and I was not disappointed 😂😂😂

Charmin King

Started watching this on my own, but quickly figured out I needed to initiate the buddy system on this one so switched over to watching it through the lens of my two favorite queer media reactors! Definitely WTF was a running theme here, but I’m surprised no one has commented yet on how the journey Oliver takes closely resembles Tom Ripley’s journey in “The Talented Mr. Ripley” w/ Matt Damon as Tom. This is like the twisted sister version for the younger audiences I guess. Saw the ending a mile away because of the similarities of the two films. You even have Farleigh playing Phillip Seymore Hoffman’s character, the friend who sees through the BS immediately and tries to worn everyone to get the f away from the guy 😂

snallahej
>>127349356

You pointed one of several reasons why I don’t get the hype about this movie. Talented Mr. Ripley already did this and 1000x better. Lesser remake filmed in lesser locations with “shocking” scenes added in for nothing. 🤷‍♀️ And I don’t like what the super privileged director/writer is trying to say about the middle class with this movie. Not to yuck anyone’s yum, but it’s a nope for me. Strictly here for the Alex & Josh comedy.

Michelle Barry

“What the fuck did I just watch?” Pretty much everyone’s reaction to this movie. I thought it was interesting, definitely not predictable, that’s probably why I liked it. I liked it even more the second time since I could look for things that you discover later. I know there is the “shock value” scenes but once you look past that you see a provocative film (which Margot Robbie produced) that keeps your attention and is not boring 😬

Sara Nissen
>>127349356

Oh yes amongst it all, I also had the feeling, that I had seen this kind of similar plot before, and now you mentioned The Talented Mr. Ripley, and yes what a great movie that is too...

Charmin King
>>127349356

I 100% agree that the Talented Mr. Ripley is the better movie. Way more nuanced and you easily empathize with Tom’s character, the web of deceit he’s spun, and the drastic measures he must take to not get caught. There is ZERO redeeming qualities about Oliver…ZERO! I hope at some point Farleigh comes out of nowhere and kicks this kid’s ass!

D.A. Rowley

That was fucked up. Plain and simple. Glad I watched it with you guys as you made this entertaining. But now, I think this movie's different scenes were done for just shock value....'oh let's see if we can gross the viewers out. Let's see how much shit we can put into this and still have it turn out to be a good film'. Actually, I don't think it was a good film I would give it a 6 out of 10. If it wasn't for Jacob Elordi who is the actual drawing power of this movie it would have fallen by the wayside. All in all meh.

D.A. Rowley
>>127349356

I think The Talented Mr. Ripley was by far a better film and stayed true to Patricia Highsmith's book. Which is an awesome read. I wonder if @ASWT will do a review of The Talented Mr. Ripley. I would love to see that.

JayJay

It was so much fun having seen the film before and just waiting for your faces to drop😂 Also, Josh, the woman playing Venetia is Alison Oliver, who played the main character in the TV series adaptation of Sally Rooney‘s “Conversations with Friends”. That’s where you might’ve recognised her from.

Laura Ibarra

I’ll give it a U out of 20 😂 I didn’t know what to expect 😳 I did enjoy the ending where you see that he was playing all along.

Nina

My top favorite reaction is the triple “what da fuck” during the bath scene 😂😂

Gina Lipkin

I have the audio of Tipping the Velvet yes it's 1888 in the music halls of London, very atmospheric lesbian live story, let's get some more representation of us to view, please and thank you boys x

Gina Lipkin

Also Desert Hearts set in Las Vegas, lesbian Love, a much younger and much older couple story. And Cable Girls, set in Madrid, Spain

Erin Bluhm

I love when you both freeze and the only way to know if the video is still playing is the fact that the movie is still going! Loved your reaction and absolutely loved this film!

Christy Garrett

Saltburn is definitely a dark comedy/thriller. You have to understand Emerald Fennell as a writer and director to understand the “why”. She’s brilliant. Watch a few interviews with Emerald and Barry. It explains the movie more, especially the hidden gems throughout the film. References to Brideshead Revisited, Talented Mr. Ripley, etc. Also, rewatching the film after digging into the writer/directors choices gives a different perspective. Great film and I loved your reactions ☺️

Wealie

Oh your faces and matching body language were priceless watching this. It definitely was ‘different’ not sure what I think about it myself!

Dougie

Annnd now I have to go watch Heartstopper to cleanse my soul 😂 Great reaction as always!

venus

what the fuck😟

Dennis Verner

A little tidbit I just found might have given those of us who had no idea what Saltburn was up to a bit of a clue. The music under the titles is the famous Handle coronation anthem Zadok the Priest. Except instead of the choir singing, "Zadok the Priest..." they sing "Oliver Quick. Long live the King!" We should have known.

Archie Craven

Just hearing Josh say ur-RINE-als is everything.
