Okay warning - this film is like Fire Island - on steroids. As a cinema would say - RATED R for almost everything you can imagine!

with that warning out the way, we actually think as funny as it is, it says a lot for representation and inter-generational friendships in the community (once you get past all the atrocities! - no idea how this is gonna be suitable for YouTube!)

Apologies in advance for the auto focus playing up throughout. teething issues in our new space - probably best not to put a smiley face right behind us lol

Enjoy!

xoxo

Yay!!! Oh and Josh is very bright blue and Alex quite blah, and you both look quite jaundiced, but otherwise very fabulous.

Sara Nissen

Can you make specific videos free to watch for people who don't have Patreon? If so that could be an alternative, if you can't edit it, so you think it's suitable for YouTube without cutting too much, if its not patreon exclusive. Yes this movie is a lot at times. 😆 They both have problems, and now another big one to deal with. Love your shirt Josh, even if it's supposed to be more purple than blue.

Frances

Oh yeah! Will watch this tonight. Looking forward to it 🫶🏽

Nikki Hearn

That was fun to watch! 🤣🤣 I mean, it obviously was meant to take the chaotic over the top approach!! it's just what I needed, a brilliant way to a good belly laugh!! 👏🤣 Well done! Thanks guys once again! 😍

Shari

Okay… controversial opinion….but I tried watching this last week - I did NOT like it all. Turned it off before it finished. I DID like Fire Island when I watched it when first released. Can’t like everything all the time. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Heather S.

I watched it as soon as it came out on Netflix (here in the U.S.), and I liked it. Crazy AF, yes, but entertaining as well. 😄

Gina Lipkin

Straight into the extreme intense sexual activity learning curve for the non-gays, lol

Dennis Verner

You guys did it again! Made me watch and (sort of) enjoy a movie I probably never would have watched on my own. I think the most fun is watching you guys being as chaotic as the films we watch together.

Domenic Cieri

I watched this film a month ago but could not finish it because it was so strange. You allowed me to watch it again but this time fully and I thought it was great!

snallahej

What fun! Not what I expected, but I teared up at the end. And nice to see two broadway icons, Ms. Audra and Ms. Judith. Definitely friends of the community. Judith Light was devastating in the versace miniseries.

Mel Baker

What did we just watch. I feel guilty for laughing🤣🤣

Jacqui Chesterton

There is nearly a 20 year age gap between them IRL - Zachary Quinto is 46.

The first time I tried to watch it when it was first released, I couldn’t finish it. Waited a few days and then revisited it and loved it.

Diane Furlong

I’m late to the party but I’m excited to watch now Oh Alex, you’ve got your work cut out for you with this edit! Thanks guys for reacting to this!

Chris Metzger

Yeah, this was a crazy one. I enjoyed it. It was funny. It was cringey as fuck at times. Alex, yes, your top appears to be mauve on camera, and Josh's looks a midnight blue. Also, we're going to need to see your bag of costumes. lol

Sam S

OMG!! I just got to the “the heart wants what the heart wants” bit and I suddenly realised it’s Angela from “Who’s The Boss” (aka Judith Light)!!! 🤣🫠 I’m definitely showing my age with that reference! 🙈

Jacqui Chesterton

I had to watch this over two days because it was so bonkers I couldn’t take it in one sitting lol. I’m so glad I watched it with you two and not alone! I really thought Cameron was going to put the egg down Gary’s pants at several points. Also I LOVE that song they kept using. Alex Newell can do no wrong.

Ruth May

Hmmm. 🤔 Started watching this after enjoying your chaotic and hilarious intro, then thought, ‘I don’t know if I can watch this’, so I will give it another go tomorrow, especially as I do love Zac Quinto.

Mandi Mateer

This was WILD. What kind of person brings up your children mid sex work? Or even during a hook up? Either scenario is deeply unprofessional and unsexy! A very fun reaction for an absolutely entertaining film

Gina Lipkin

Maybe the message is that you never know how long you may have, so you may as well live true to yourself. Just put in a weird and unusual way, big lol

Gina Lipkin

Death seems to be being featured a lot in the viewing being produced, I think it's just in the series's about teenage love there's not been deaths

Philip Smith

The lake was perfect, the only entity which truly accepted him was his dog, and they were together in the lake. Loved your reaction.

karolina tersa

it's my first time watching your reaction to something that i haven't seen before. and i think it will be my new comfort go-to with some genres. so much fun!

also: when you realize, that on a tennis court gary is talking about how he thinks, that his cancer is his own fault, but you somehow assume, that he talks about his unhappy, closeted life and go on like "yeah, it is his fault" - pretty funny :P

I do this too. But only with these two. Always feels like first-time watching a movie with hilarious friends. Love it. And more often than not, I also get to learn new shit this way as Josh and Alex are quite educational on so many subjects.

Yes it's fun when you suddently recognise someone. I mostly know Judith Light from Ugly Betty.

Charlzz

You're not going to believe this (Fellow Travelers reference). But guess who the costume designer was for Down Low? Lucy Hawkins. No, really. Check out the credits.

The guy that wants the dead body is played by Simon Rex. For those old enough, Rex did porn for a while before joining MTV in the early years in the 1980s. It looks like he has acted over the years (as many do) without much fame. I didn't realize Gage (Cameron) was in Euphoria and had co-written the screenplay based on a version of Pretty Woman (which is referenced in the movie). Quinto took this role during the pandemic to do something different. I'm sure he doesn't think it's his best work, but it is in a trend of gay actors playing gay roles which is nice to see.

Colin Winterbottom

My guess why the focus kept shifting. The camera is programmed to look for faces and focus on the faces. It's first step in "guessing" a face is to look for the eyes and the eyes on that pillow in the background kept confusing it. It's eyes are bigger than yours so it thought "there's the most prominent face," focused on it and then realized "that's not a face" and went back to you and back and forth. Because I understood how it works (at least that's my theory), for me half the laughs of this movie was that back & forth. As for the movie: I rarely like absurdist comedies but this one kind of worked. I might watch again.
