Omg love a quick turnaround! I've been waiting for you guys so I have some company as I have no one to watch this with. Can't wait to watch after work 🥰

Lattenuna

Yeahhhhhh finally!

Chris Mackenzie

Yassss! 🙌 This is going to be good! Luckily in Australia it has been released all at once, so I have already watched the first 4 episodes😂.

Mary E Crum

My love for you having episode 1 done so quickly. Happy dance

Werlock Holmes

Damn it, I was going to wait until Friday but now I just want to watch it with you! Double the fun, I suppose 😄

Susanne

It's not out in Sweden until Friday. Gonna have to wait a bit and watch it on my own before I watch it with you guys..

Diane Furlong

Oh WOW hopefully I’ll have time to watch before I go to my Doctor’s appointment. If not I’ll certainly be watching this afternoon. Thanks Alex and Josh

Nicky Anne

the HEAVY majority of this is historically accurate. i would say about 70-80%

S.h.r

Thanks for the reaction

Jamie

Can’t wait to watch this tonight. I shall return!!

rachael

Loved this reaction!! Can't wait for the next one.. xx

Nikki Hearn

IM OBSESSED ALREADY! I haven't even watched it yet...one moment... Okay I'm back!! OBSESSED, I NEED MORE!🤣🤣 I honestly love how blunt the language is, I would be friends with them all! I can't wait for more, I just need to binge watch this but I will wait for you boys because it's like we are watching it together....and loving every minute! ♥️ My favourites at the moment: #1 Fellow Travelers #2 Mary and George #3 All of us Strangers

Stian Kristoffersen

Just wanted to pop back in when I had more time to tell you how grateful I am for everything you do. ❤️ Especially how quickly you've posted reactions of new series and movies lately. Not only am I able to watch things before they're available for streaming in my country, the company is priceless! 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Sara Nissen

Didn't know about this series before. It was very blunt and direct from the start, but can't wait to see, where it goes. 😆 Yes it seems like its in a setting, where they don't care about sexuality(and use it to their advantage), but they care much more about class and status, hense why he isn't allowed to marry Jenny; a servant of their household. I got pleasantly surprised to see Trine Dyrholm in this(a very well known actress in Denmark, who among other things has played queen Margarethe the 1st in a danish movie/ series), and here she is playing Queen Anne as they call her(think it's queen Anna Catrina who was married to king Christian the 4th, who is the king to have ruled Denmark the longest, and who has made build the Danish stock exchange(børsen), Rosenborg castle, the round tower(rundetårn) among other buildings.) When George came home again he might seem changed but after being tripped, it was like, nomatter how much you try to change some people/ how much some people change, deep down they are (somewhat) still the same.

Gina Lipkin

Seems it's quite accurate for that time in history, their scheming was original and clever, enjoyed this Thank you 'my boys', 'my George ' lol, it is fun viewing with you both

Dawn Johnson

Excellent reaction! But I believe King James commissioned the revision of the Bible to placate the church and their "issues" with his love of the boys. I read he told them, "Jesus had John, and I have George."

Gina Lipkin

It was very hard to survive in this time in history, you did what you had to, life was extreme

Rowena_Eureka

Thank you for putting this out so quickly! Way more fun watching with you both. I read the non-fiction book the series is base on: THE KING'S ASSASSIN by Benjamin Woolley. So far, it's pretty accurate to the book. Yes, there's some fleshing out of the basic facts (the servant girl Jenny, the details in France, etc. ) but it's staying pretty close to the history, so far.

Charlie

As others have said, there is a lot that’s historically accurate here, even the small details (for example, George tripping and falling in front of the king really did happen). What I appreciate about this show, and others in the genre, is that it’s not shying away from the truth of lgbtq+ people always being a part of our society. History has been viewed from a very whitewashed, Victorian, conservative lens, and we’ve shifted into a much more conservative society. But as we’ve seen in this show, and many others in recent years, “queer was always here.” I’m REALLY excited about the history in this show, because there’s just not enough out there about this time period, and George Villiers is such a fascinating man. Amazing first episode!

Andrea Brown

I'm looking forward to watching this with you guys later! Thank you for posting it so quickly. I spent years in a cult that only allowed the king James version. Everything else was considered to be a "perversion" of gods word. Watching this feels healing in a way. 😂

also he didn’t write the king james bible, he commissioned it from the church. he tried to get rid of the anti-gay stuff in it by saying “christ had his john, and i have my george”

Diane Furlong

Well, the Ground work has been set. I don’t think that this Series will disappoint! But my takeaway from this episode that made me giggle is “Catty Gays”! Thanks Alex and Josh for reacting to this so soon!

Charity Rose Elkins

I grew up surrounded by people almost worshipping the King James Version of the Bible, and using it to treat people horrifically. Seeing the real, queer representation of King James is almost healing for me.

Chris Metzger

OMG!! This is going to be so saucy! I love it! Nice to see Nick's bum as well!

Chris Metzger

If only King James had allowed his queerness to shine in his Bible. What a different world we would live in.

Jamie

I think George was bi, there just wasn't a word for it then. I also think it didn't really matter in this instance because the sex wasn't because he loved someone (except Jenny) or was attracted to them (I'm sure some looks didn't hurt), it was because it was used for power, and status. I'm glad I don't have to worry about all that and just like women for their looks. I'm totally joking, that's not the only thing I like them for. Side note: Julianne Moore has always been and is so hot. *fan* Look at Nick, taking over the world, one project at a time.

indigo

Australia has an ice cream called Golden Gay time its awesome

Jacqui Chesterton

Chaucer was the first person to write the word c-t so yes they did probably swear like this at the time! In fact this is probably unimaginative compared to what they would actually say haha.

Ljaljui Galuljigulj

Can’t wait for ep2🫶Nick got a pretty bubble butt😍😍😍

Rachael Evansco

You guys have to know that the oldest son is the one who said I like giraffes- John is the oldest and unable to be wed so she's trying to tout George for that purpose 😉 Enjoyed the heck out of your reaction vid. Can't wait to see the rest! I've only watched through episode 2 so far. Trying to not fly through them and not enjoy. Love you guys! 😀

Kerri Moys

The fact that in RWRB book in Alex and Henry's emails they talked about George Villiers and King James' love and now Nick is playing him is just an amazing turn of events. It's Nick's world and we are just living in it. Love you guys and this reaction as always ❤️❤️

Dan Tackett

Jorge you say? Well, Alex, George is in training to become quite the whore, hey! I really appreciated your quick reaction, as M & G isn’t readily available in the US. This looks like a lot of fun, and Young Royals S3 drops next week.

Heather S.

Just starting this and so excited (esp since I'm in the U.S. and it won't be out here until next month). Had to say quickly--yes, that appeared to be a pretty "fresh" baby in the opening scene. LOL! Obviously not real blood but he looked small enough to be a newborn, whereas it looks like people in some movies are birthing 3 month olds! (I'm a NICU nurse...you notice what you know, lol)

Mandi Mateer

I adore you, but part of the reason they were so brazen then is because if someone said something the royalty didn't like, they'd just chop off their head for "treason". It wasn't because people didn't care. Currently, monarchs in westernized society can't exactly execute whomever they want, so there's a level of fear for THEM instead of for everyone under their rule.

Haha SAME on both counts, but peds nurse. Definitely notice what you know. Also fun fact-they use grape jelly and cream cheese on babies to make them look so ‘fresh’ without it being dangerous lol. So, goopy, sticky and…tasty? They also only get 30minute increments on set at this age.

Sarah Vallance (Accessible Yoga with Sarah)

Thank you for sharing your reactions so quickly - love that I can watch along with you both! Can’t wait for episode 2… and for things to get steamy! 🔥

Hannah Howden

So torn…. Do I start this now on my phone here or wait a whole month for it to come out in Canada 😫

Sam S

I grew up similarly surrounded by KJV Bible “purists” (in the fundamentalist church I was raised in), and I have a lot of religious trauma as a result. I had to hide my queerness for so, so long. I agree that seeing who commissioned that version of the Bible, in all his open queerness is…EVERYTHING!!! 🙌🏻 I know that if I shared this history with my family, they’d just dismiss it as fake, so won’t even bother (although I’d very much like to, just to see their reactions! 😆).

Werlock Holmes

Watched the episode, watched your reaction, enjoyed both immensely 👍😃

Scott Friedman

Very jealous I can't watch this till next month. I feel like I have to wait to watch your reaction.

Daylet

Historically speaking, I believe Dr. Kate Lister (she’s a historian who primarily concentrates on sexuality and LGBTQ history) will review the show on her podcast Betwixt The Sheets, which I highly recommend by the way. Also, I’ll have to pick up the book Bad Gays…I was under the impression the reason King James was made to commission the Bible be made under his name was specifically to garner favor. They wanted that to erase who he was.

Steven Jump

This doesn't air till April 5th in the US. I really couldn't read the captions and missed a lot of the dialog. So, I'll wait to watch the rest of your reactions to M&G after I can watch the series for my self.

Jini McClelland

AARGH americans have to wait a bit. I'll be back after each ep to watch your reaction vids.

Makayla Hall

Because I'm american and this isn't out in America yet this is how I shall be watching it for now

JustinThyme

Yay, it’s finally airing in the US. Great first episode and awesome reaction as usual!

I thought about it the opposite way (re George fighting the man after being tripped). The show emphasized that George was someone who just let himself get beat and bullied without ever fighting back or trying to defend himself. It was something they were working to address in France. Now, back from France, we see him immediately jump to defend himself, he has changed.
