Using a grenade during close combat is big brain strats!

Sorry for the lack of update last week, I was in the middle of a rut and couldn't get up and do much. Next one will hopefully come in a bit early, though, I've already planned it out!

I totally expected her to use her ears to deflect the grenade and continue to fry Fiida, since I've seen so many drawings of her lifting weights with her ears, but I guess she foresaw having to shield her eyes from the flash.

I'm reminded of an old The Far Side of Utopia comic, where a couple of the most powerful characters are fighting. Well, one is fighting, the other is basically saying, "Don't fight, don't get involved in the other fight that's happening nearby that you were paid to get involved in". The older of the two realizes the other is physically quicker and can counter any learned spell before he can make it. The younger basically tells him he has to stand down, as he's out of options to continue fighting. The older replies by explaining that he's not that sane, and then using his fastest spell - which is of course an explosion that engulfs both of them.
