So a big motivator for revamping these first few pages is because I really want new readers to get as good an impression going in as I can give them. These pages in particular, I think, do a great job at selling that. Especially with the dialog updates since they're a lot more precise and get more across than I was able to the first time around.

I should have more information on the thing I mentioned last time in the next few days and I'll be sure to share with y'all as soon as I can ^^

Enjoy!

These remastered pages look amazing^^

The remastered first pages really hammer home right from the start how dysfunctional Kheil is. And in hindsight, it's kinda Kraon's fault. He raised her to be an anti-social weapon, and now is scolding her for acting like one.

Also, Kraon's not giving her any real guidance on how to not be an anti-social weapon. I mean, he gave some goals that could've assisted a well-adjusted person to achieving what he asked for, but he didn't give them to a well-adjusted person, he gave them to his potential woobie destroyer of worlds Further, I have the sense that Al's right: if Kheil had instead done what he's now saying that she was supposed to have done, the complaint would've been about all of the techniques and everything she didn't demonstrate, when asked to show everything. Edit: To be clear here, I feel like on its face, Kraon's response here was plausibly fair for a school headmaster. I mean, assuming that he was being honest in his statements. But as a father, his statements here and elsewhere are a pretty huge fail. I recognize he has conflicting roles, but I feel like they could be managed with the addition of a "we'll talk more about this at home this evening." But I don't have the feeling that Kheil gets this kind of access to her father ever. Do they even share a residence? He's better than here in their most recent interactions, but he still feels much less friendly than my own abusive father. To be fair, as abusive fathers go, mine was pretty good, but nobody should have to deal with that stuff. The father of one of my associates comes to mind: he was completely incompetent as a father, but he married someone who was good apart from her mental disorders, and between his show of concern but awareness of his ineptitude and her having it together except when she decidedly didn't, they managed to raise two of the sanest and most well adjusted people I've met. For clarity, he generally didn't know what to do as a father, but said so and supported his wife's directions, including when his wife's directions were "I can't deal with the kids right now, can you just watch them and make sure they don't hurt themselves?"
