I’m so happy for Dexter I love him. I think him saying “we’ll share a cold one soon” is more so him taunting dexter since he’s with his sister he could be coming over for a BBQ. Also the death penalty is different in all states, some are ok with it, some are only for the worst people and in others it is completely outlawed. I don’t think the electric chair is used at all anymore in the US but it’s still a common phrase people use when someone gets the death penalty

As James commented each state has their own death penalty laws. Florida used to I know because they fried Ted Bundy. I don't know about present day though.

Sorry for wording my comment, on the previous episode, confusingly. The Sopranos was on HBO. I just meant that Showtime is similar to HBO... and Dexter on Showtime was like Sopranos on HBO. They were the two main, premium subscription channels back then. Also on Showtime... Shameless, Weeds, The L Word, Homeland, Penny Dreadful, Ray Donovan, and the currently popular Yellowjackets. Stargate SG-1 began on Showtime... eventually moving to the Syfy channel after S5.

I always have a hard time with any first season of a TV show except for Dexter. I was hooked from the first episode. I don’t remember everything but I remembered this episode. I was so excited for you to get there. I also love the fact that each character is kinda 2 faced not just Dexter.

Seriously, the thing with Paul is so messed up. He jokes about being 'big bad Paul' and acts like Rita's the bad guy for feeling uncomfortable, when he's literally her rapist! He's so gross and I can't stand any of his scenes. Great reaction though, as always ☺️

I don't think Neil cares about dying for that crime. I think it's more the being remembered the legacy. I don't remember where I heard it but a person dies twice. Once that ends their life and a second time when those that care about them think of them for the last time. He didn't care about how his body died but he wanted his name to live forever.
