this is a heavy episode. there are quite a few throughout the series, but this is one of the first to introduce us to some heavier traumatic stuff. great reaction as always.

Jesus Christ that scene at the end was brutal as hell I had so many chills it’s crazy to see someone like Dexter experience these kinds of emotions it’s probably brand new to him. I don’t think that killing Rita’s ex would break the code of harry that guy is a monster that deserves to be cut up into pieces and tossed to the bottom of the ocean those kind of people boil my blood no pun intended. This outcome works too as long as I never have to see him again

Dexter only kills killers, and he had no evidence that Paul had crossed that line, so I’m glad Dexter didn’t break Harry’s code. But Paul definitely belonged where he’s now ended up, so this was the best outcome for Rita and the kids.

I totally forgot that last scene and it just got to me in the hardest way. I am not ashamed to say that I cried. It was like feeling what he was going through. That is some traumatic memories. If only he could talk about with someone without having to kill that person 😩

Is it restricted to killers or just people who commit really horrible crimes? I was kinda under the impression if he has evidence of someone doing horrific things he can take them out

I was surprised Rudy went after Angel. I thought he'd take out the hooker with the fake hand. I'm also curious how Rudy knew Dexter had been left in all the blood from his mother's murder. Like he knew the motel scene would have a profound effect on Dex. All we knew was Dad's foster dad found him at a crime scene.

I think Ritas ex husband deserved to be killed. He is a fu**ing rapist! But first rule of the codex is don't get caught if I remember right. And if Dexter would have killed him, Rita and Dexter would have been the first suspects in his murder case because they have a motive.

Can't believe we're already at the season 1 finale next week! The ending scene always gives me chills and just adds so much context to the character of Dexter.
