Blade 1998 FULL REACTION

Noice. 🤘🏼

(Wesley) ran so (Tobey Maguire) could carry the OG MCU and then passed it to Hugh jackman….This man saved Marvel from Bankruptcy and gave them the legs to run to what they are now. He didn’t get the credit he deserved for starting what we all know and love to this day. Instead they give credit to Robert 🙄. Glad you guys finally got around watching the start of it all ❤️. You guys kinda watched the movies out of order which is why this is confusing. The original MCU starts with Blade until The Incredible Hulk film then we get replaced with Mark ruffalo cause Edward wasn’t agreeing with the studio on how they should handle hulk and so forth. So OG MCU is 1998- 2008 and what you guys are familiar with is what I call New Avengers MCU ( Iron Man 2008 -current)

Now that some of the FOX MCU characters have made appearances in the MCU, I’ve been thinking about how to refer to the MCU pre FOX. I like Avengers MCU, good idea.

Blade is 💯the coolest movie and character in the greater MCU. Casting. Marvel almost always nails it with their casting. It helps when the actor has a passion for the project as well. Snipes is a Marvel LEGEND! Fun fact: He is also a black belt in two different martial arts fighting styles irl. He has been training in martial arts since he was 12. Agree with Rob, the fight sequences were amazing!

Been a long time since I seen this. Glad you reacted to it!

There's a Blade II and also a third film, Blade: Trinity. I'm not going to spoil the surprise but Blade II has an actor that is a VERY familiar face to you both and in my opinion is the strongest in the trilogy. The third film had a shift in tone which some didn't like but it's one I personally enjoy. That's in large part down to the casting and I won't say anything further about that apart from that you can see how one of the performances opened a door to one of the actor's widely known roles later down the line. I'm hoping you react to both sequels to round out the trilogy!

Jenny Lee Villanueva

I loved her (the Dr) in this movie, but I haven't seen her in any other movies.

FWIW, vampires have already been mentioned in the MCU, in both Werewolf By Night, as well as the LOKI series. Additionally, you may not have realized it just yet, but Blade IS in the MCU...and you have already gotten an ever so mysterious and brief introduction to him. I'll just leave it at that. ;)

Jordan Tanner

Do you remember the Eternals post credit scene? We heard Blade's voice in that scene.

James

Definitely a super gritty theme that blood shower in the beginning of the movie was dark as hell I had no idea this was about vampires. I hope we can some how see blade in the main MCU this movie came out a while ago now so I don’t think it’s too likely but I’d love to watch the other 2 blade movies whenever you guys can do them

Mike Drop

Haven't seen this in ages. Time for a rewatch.

Peter Ceniceros

From what I read online is that it was Wesley's idea to include martial arts as one of Blades character traits in the films because he wanted to make Blade a badass like those fighters in Chinese martial arts films

Lovaire Hawkins

Wow. You guys took me back with Blade. There are 3 Blades. Blade ll is the best of the 3. It's a really good vampire movie. You will definitely enjoy the 2nd Blade.

Octavia

Yeah, I don't care what anyone says... I enjoyed Blade Trinity.

They gave credit to Robert because every cent Marvel had was put in Iron Man 1, also when people say that they refer to Marvel as a company, while there was Blade and Spiderman and X-men, the movie rights didn't belong to Marvel then, so they weren't malking a profit, Marvel was almost bankrupt a few times. But I agree, all of them were important. Also MCU is supposed to be everything that is connected, like Ironman, Captain America, etc and until a character from the old movies appears togheter with one caracter from the MCU, they are not part of it, though the list of things that are not part of the MCU has shortened lately :), the only ones, if i think of it now, are Agents of shield and some obscure stuff like cloak and dagger maybe(i've never seen it). I mean X-men are in the MCU now, all the spidermen are(-Miles Morales), the netflix show are considered cannon now, so yeah, there are very few things that are not MCU, yet.

Anthony Fioravaniti

I highly recommend the rest of the Blade trilogy, also if you've never see Demolition Man, with Wesley Snipes and Sylvester Stallone, that may be right up your cheesy/action alley.

I'd love to see you react to Howard the duck. 😁Haven't seen that since I was a child. I remember loving it when I was about 10 or maybe 11. Blade will always be one of my favorite movies. I've watched all three of them in cinema and think it's definitely worth watching 2 and 3, but there are two things that always kinda bothered me and I always wondered if I'm the only one. Usually I can ignore stuff in movies or shows, that doesn't seem logical to me, pretty easy, since I can always remind myself that it's only fiction. But for some reason it's way harder with the first thing, the second thing isn't as bad, more weird. I can't ignore it, but it doesn't drive me crazy. Kinda like when Amy in The Big Bang Theory told Sheldon what I always thought about Raiders of the lost Arc: "Indiana Jones really is incidental to the movie's outcome." She basically confirmed what I always wondered about and I always think about it now, when I watch it, but I don't really care, because I enjoy the movie so much. My world didn't get shattered like Sheldon's. 1) the sun blocker: at sunset they need a helmet and gloves and everything on top of the sun blocker and the pure blood without any sunscreen starts to smoke pretty fast, even before the sun actually shows up. But in the middle of the day Frost is fine only with that stuff on his skin (even if he used in under his clothes too)? If that's the case, where is the problem? Some human's have to wear it too, only maybe less. But at least his eyes should've started to burn or the top of his head, since his hair doesn't look like it's covered in sunscreen. And I doubt that he gargled with it, so opening his mouth should be deadly too (not starting with the inside of the ears and nose). Every time I have too ignore my brain so hard in that scene. It wouldn't shut up, no matter how loud I scream at it "it's a freaking movie, god dangit! Leave me alone!". 2) one of the weirdest (almost on the verge of stupidity) goals a movie villain has ever had (still loving Frost though, Stephen Dorff did a great job): "you people are fucking history. Anyone caught in his path will instantly be turned. How you gonna cure the whole fucking world?" so... what's for dinner then, Hannibal? Had to get that off my chest after all these years. Maybe it get's better now. Because I sure will continue to watch Blade every now and then.
