it doesn’t matter what Arthur does I will always picture him in that bathtub scene and I’m reminded how vile he is. Such a great ending though I love when Dexter has wholesome family moments

It's a bit extreme to go from finding out Dexter kept his apartment, to searching it, to telling him that they have therapy the next day. I mean, Rita has every right to be bothered by the lie... but unfortunately, their whole relationship is based in lies. Honestly, they have so little in common outside of attractiveness and boring-ness. All their convos are about what Dex is doing wrong and then Dex copying other people's words to parrot back to appease Rita.

John Lithgow has the kind of amazing range that you want in actors. Deft in comedy and depth of dramatic characters. He believably becomes each character. First time that I ever saw him was in the movie, The World According to Garp. Then he's completely different in Footloose, Cliffhanger, 3rd Rock, etc... He can't be typecast... which is a joy to watch.

I don't know if anyone's mentioned this but did you know between 2008-2011 Jennifer Carpenter (Deb) and Michael C. Hall (Dexter) were married? and also during season 4 Michael was diagnosed with cancer but kept it hidden until production wrapped.

When that's the main thing... it's usually not a good one. Even when he's home, Dexter is rarely present. He's thinking about how to get away and do his gig. They are in an endless cycle of Rita being upset and Dexter trying yo appease. It's just a house of cards, built on lies. And as Doakes predicted... bound to collapse.
