The Menu 2022 FULL REACTION

Comments

Octavia

Oh wow.... so wonderfully early, I'm not ready... must get snacks. I need a cheeseburger and fries.

Tyrone Byrne

that steam notification I thought was my steam LMAO

Will

So fun!!

Bradley Weeks

I'd take a $9.95 cheeseburger any day over any of that other food. I wonder how much it would cost to get a couple slices of bacon on it. Mmmmm😋

James

This movie had some creepy ass vibes the whole way through. It kind of makes me hate chefs even more for how uptight and particular some of them can be. Now I also remember why I will never in my life go to a fancy restaurant like that, when I spend money for food I’d like to actually be satisfied after eating for people who say “it’s for the experience” my answer is simply No. Rant aside this movie was very entertaining and mind bending. I’m so glad that she got away in the end. Definitely was not expecting the movie to be dark I’ve heard of the menu but this is not what I expected whatsoever. The feeling of hopelessness, tension and despair that you feel the entire movie was done so well

Jan T

You were absolutely right, this one was really good!

Jan T

This was the only movie chosen for this month that I hadn’t seen. It was great! I love a film where I can’t predict where it’s heading and what’s going to happen. Absolutely the single best choice of film for this month. There’ll be some fun and laughs from D&D and Horrible Bosses though.

Octavia

So glad you enjoyed it! It really has a lot of layers in such a deceptively simple form. The moment she claps back and reminds him of the joy he once cooked with... before all the wearying hypocrisy, selling out and thanklessness set in... *chef's kiss*. How pretention & consumerism can desensitize us. Great cast, not trying to be a blockbuster... just strong storytelling. My favorite movie of 2022.

Octavia

I love that they still had to pay for the privilege of dining to death. And I love that little moment near the end when Judith Light waves her on to just go. (For those who watch Community... Judith Light starred as Angela in 'Who's the Boss?" And... as Abed so decreed... Angela was the boss.) Mostly a tv actress... it was great to see her be a part of this compelling film.

MarySoul

Delighted to have attended this experience 🧐. I particularly loved the emoji 😅 Now, seriously, happy I waited for this first time watch. 🙏🏻

Rob & Trin React!

Yeah it made me jump, no idea why it happened though. Need to turn them off lol

Tyrone Byrne

no stress! just made me giggle

Michael Celia

I absolutely enjoyed this movie as much the second time as I did the first time. It's apparently not for everyone though - I know someone who called it pretentious...exactly, that's the point. And Ralph Fiennes is freakin' fantastic... Now I wanna cheeseburger...

Jordan Tanner

Great pick, Rob! I got to see an early critic screening of this one in 2022 and my theater was erupting with laughter throughout. Its one of my favorites from that year. Next up, The Lighthouse?

James

The movie was phenomenal it just pissed me off because I know there are chefs who are genuinely like that when it comes to food and it annoys the shit out of me.

Thurrak

You can always tell when a movie is going to go off the rails like this one did when they put a group of people into a position where they arbitrarily have no way of leaving. Like why is a chef out on some remote island with no cell service? lol

MKeiran92

Ralph Fiennes is so good in this!

Zumanji

Great movie, it was just as entertaining as the first I watched it. On a side note, the actor playing Tyler is in the movie “warm bodies”, which is also a great movie & right up rob & trin’s alley, it’s been voted on here on Patreon but hasn’t made the cut yet, so excited for when it does get the votes needed for a reaction ☺️

Nancy Scogin

Thanks for picking this, Rob and Trin!

Kitikits

First time watching this movie after watching the trailer about a year ago. Really fun movie.

Octavia

@James... it goes both ways though. The thanklessness of serving self-important customers who don't really appreciate the craft... just the elitism. Or as Margot pointed out, how Tyler couldn't be bothered to ask Jeremy's name. I would definitely say that this movie leans to the side of the service industry over the customers. At least Slowik was aware that he was part of the problem himself, hence dying as well.

Angelina Sargent

I feel like she legit died eating that burger from bacteria getting into her bloodstream...

Octavia

I've seen some theorize that the burger was poisoned, because fans always look for extra conspiracy. But the director has said... Nope, it's just a victory bite at the end... an 'f- you, I beat you.'

Nina

This reaction was kind of weird. This movie is supposed to be a dark comedy wtih satirical elements. I was laughing so hard at some of these moments. And you two were watching it like it's Schindler's List or something. 😂😂
