Dungeons Dragons Honor Among Thieves 2023 FULL REACTION

IMO one of the most underrated movies of the past few years that underperformed money wise due to releasing next to movies like the Mario Movie (there was another big movie around this time for this film range also that took crowds off the 20-40 group). Which is sad since a sequel was in the works and may never see the light of day now.

They did have 2 dnd movies from like the 70s and they were AWEFUL 🤣🤣

Octavia

Michelle Rodriguez is always a great Michelle Rodriguez.

Stephanie Bedworth

There actually was an after credits scene. It wasn't long but it was funny. It was a great time seeing you react to this. I knew it was gonna be a slam dunk for you both.

Jan T

A great cast in a well produced, fun romp of a film. Great to see Rob and Trin enjoying it so much. 😊 Certainly the best of the 4 Poll winners, by far.

Jan T

Yes they were. Thankfully this one is actually fun.

el ien

there is an "old" D&D movie which isnt that bad either actually

James

So happy this one the poll I’ve been putting off watching it to watch it for the first time with you guys. The scenery and faithfulness to the lore is incredible, as a person who recently finished baulders gate 3 this was eye candy. Whoever did the camera work and all the upside down shots was a genius. You could literally tell when certain things happened that it was like passing or failing a skill check. This was one of those movies that I never wanted to end, I need another one.

James

No way the Mario movie preformed better than this

Tyrone Byrne

This movie was such a surprise to me when I first watched it, I was very skeptical about it

I personally love potatoes. Boil em, mash em, stick em in a stew. My favorite is a baked potato with butter and sour cream. But I never thought about using them as a weapon before.

To clarify its generally seen that a movie needs to make at least double its production cost to break even due to the marketing costs generally doubling the production costs of movies. D&D Cost 150million so it needed to make 300million to break even. It made 250million and was acknowledged as a financial flop. A executive even said in a interview if they ever greenlit a sequel it would have a much smaller budget due to this performance. Meanwhile the Mario Bros movie had a budget of 100million (so it needs 200million to break even) and it made abit over 1 Billion. Being one of the biggest movies in the past few years and easily profiting.

Stephanie Bedworth

Somehow, the Mario Brothers movie was the 2nd top grossing movie of that year after Barbie. I do believe the 4th John Wick movie came out the same month as D & D as well.

Stephanie Bedworth

Oh, and I fully choose to believe that Themberchaud the Pudge managed to survive that explosion and rolled off in search of a new den to eat.

James

That’s upsetting I still hope there’s another one at some point because this was incredible

Wesleybucks

Awesome reaction to an awesome movie. Me and my mates still quote "he's stealing our bits and bobs" almost daily. Apparently all sequel plans have been shelved but we are instead getting a dnd tv show so that's something

Anthony Ancona

Loved the movie and the reaction! I have played Dungeons and Dragons tabletop with the same 6 friends from 1989 to 2014. I have played Baldur's Gate 3 four times! This was a real treat!

Keith Duperreault

This join the rank of other horrible D&D movies.... I don't know why it's so hard to do a serious franchise film. Every one has to be low budget schlock....

Grif Kane

As a D&D nerd this was amazing. Even the Fresh Cut Grass comments is a nod towards Critical Role and one of their characters. One of the teams in the maze is the party from the animated D&D Cartoon from the 80's (or 90's?) there's just so many easter eggs it's brilliant. Even the banter feels like a D&D Campaign. The heroic DMPC showing up to guide the party where they need to go etc.
