I know Trin is devastated 😭 starting now

Patrick Saona

I can already hear trin crying before even watching

Crusader

This episode is really really horrible..not in that it sucked or anything, Just that ending is hard to watch! The visual reminded me of The Walking Dead and Negan using his bat on Abraham and Glenn even tho this wasn't as bloody

Jose Dominguez

Trin talking about her little heart after the Tommy scene before going back to Joel 😭

James

That hoard was insane fast zombies are terrifying imagine running from that number of them. God I knew it was coming too but that death was heavy, Ellie’s acting definitely sold the scene. Like you said I was praying they did something different and maybe Joel somehow survives this situation. The motivation for revenge drove me so much when I played the game I wanted blood As far as I can remember that whole Jackson hoard thing didn’t happen from the game but that was also very entertaining not knowing what would happen. I’m so excited for next week

Ray H

HOW TF IS GAIL GOING TO GET WEED NOW?!?! 😭⛳️

AlexH88

Bella was phenomonal in those final scenes

James

Ellie might be in need of therapy after that she was already collecting payment for her first session before what happened to Joel even happened

Jan T

The horde attack on the town was amazing. Exceptionally well done. But I think I’m done with this show now. I’ve been reading many comments from people telling others that they should sympathise with Abby, but I can’t and never will. Abby’s father was not an innocent man, and Joel did not torture him to death. Wanting to avenge your father is understandable, but Joel had just saved Abby’s life, yet still, she wasn’t content to just shoot him. Abby’s decision to torture Joel to death for her own personal satisfaction makes her a sadistic psychopath in my eyes. She doesn’t get to come back from that for me. Great performances all around. But this show just got too ugly for me, especially if it’s going to go in the direction I think it will. 😔

James

Try not to let what other people say sway you away from the show as with everything people will always have their own opinions. If the show is too graphic for you than I completely understand but trust me you won’t regret watching it if you like a good story

Annie Bonz

I watched it along with y’all for the first time and I was not expecting that, boo hoo’ed my brains out. That sucks donkey balls. I hope Ellie finds Abby and Law Abiding Citizen (the movie) her ass.

"Do you see a 7-11 full of weed?" Perfect! So when you get the munchies, you're already there! This episode is a WHOPPER - from the insanity of the Battle of Jackson Hole to that Ending, this is well-made television. I've not played the games and never will (not a gamer), but I was half-expecting Joel to be killed somehow...just definitely not in the second episode. I still expect to see Pedro Pascal in a flashback or two, so I don't think he's completely done for this show.

Angelina Sargent

Uhhh this was such a tough episode 😪 I was literally not expecting it at all!! I do have a theory about Eugene. I don't know if he's in the video game or whatever but I think there is something more to Joel killing him. They keep having weird conversations happen during the times he's brought up... I'm wondering if Eugene is the reason Abbys group found Joel in Wyoming cause he use to be a firefly? Or maybe he found out Joel's secret and Joel lied about how he died? It just doesn't make sense why they keep bringing him up... Do we know if Joel is going to continue filming at all for like flashbacks during this season? The other thing I noticed is that last we saw Joel had the guitar and was like on the porch after last episode and then ellie wakes up and it's back in her room? And she seemed to have forgiven or like chilled out a bunch on him when she woke up so I think we missed something and I'm praying we get more scenes of him during the season.

Jan T

Thanks James. I’ll give that some thought before the next episode.

Elle

Ugh, got me again! I've done the game 2 or 3 times, and watched the episode alone Monday and with you guys today. Still bawled! I too briefly thought they were going to change it up and kill Dina somehow and not Joel when they swapped out her and Tommy, but they haven't made us or Ellie love her enough to propel the show forward based on just that alone. So as much as I don't want to say goodbye to Pedro, it had to happen :(

Marty McGee

Every actor in this show has absolutely nailed it. I said this in the first season, but I don't think I've ever seen a show with better acting across the board. Not just the main actor(s). That's not to detract from phenomenal acting in other shows. It's just how good this one is. Bella in particular in this episode. My heart just broke for Ellie in that scene.

Marty McGee

Yeah I'm pretty sure I remember scenes with him from the trailer that we haven't seen yet. And yeah there's something fishy about the Eugene thing. I have enough faith in the writing that it's there for a reason to be paid off.

Angelina Sargent

Ohhh! I did not think about watching the trailer! I'm gonna do that right now!

Angelina Sargent

I just told my theory to my hubby and he said his theory is that Joel was with Eugene and that maybe Eugene figured out ellie had the cure in her and was gonna tell the rest of town and he was trying to protect ellie... I didn't even consider that one! Lol I'm so anxious for the rest of the season!

AnGeLuS

I love Abby and her entire story. She's the best character in the franchise for me. I like both versions of her, in the game and in the show.

Seduction Productions

It really makes me appreciate Maggie even more & how she was able to move forward despite what Negan did.. which was far worse than what Joel did. Abby could learn from her.

I could see the tension on Rob's face as things started to unfold more and more and more especially when Abby looked at golf clubs 😂 I havent played 1st or even 2nd game but this part was spoiled to me year ago by my lovely friend😂but even tho i expected this to happen in season 2 i didnt think it would happen so fast just in 2nd episode already. And again, even tho i was aware of it it hit me hard. That sequence of scenes was so hard to watch. I normally have no problem with anything. Hell i managed to keep straight face while watching 7x01 of TWD😂but this was though and i actually feel like it was worse than TWD.... Acting was on another level

23p23 41

Honestly the amount of criticism Bella is getting on social media just because she doesnt look like Ellie is getting on my nerves. All these people just turned on her and now cant stand her in this series no matter she does while she is doing fabulous job. I have to agree acting in this series.... i dont think i watched series with better acting and thats a big statement Sometimes i just wonder what era r we now in when looks became more important than actuall acting performance

Simon S

Didn't play the game so this was a real shock to me, I had no clue. A big part of me wants to stop watching if I'm honest, no Joel is a huge loss. It'll be interesting to see if there's much of a dropoff in viewers. I can only hope we see more of Joel in a bunch of flashbacks - assuming they fill in the "5 years later" that we kicked off the season on. Absolutely gutted. GOT had some huge moments like this (Red Wedding anyone?), but they had a LOT of main characters to keep the show going. TLOU differs in that regard.

Simon S

I'm right on the fence on whether or not to continue. This episode - as you said, fantastically done - but it was a lot.

Nimu

In the videogame there was no further background story about Eugene. He was only mentioned in regards to the weed he grew and I think they also mentioned him having been a Firefly. I don't know how his story (whatever it might look like) could be anything relevant though. Even if Joel killed him because he knew anything about Ellie's immunity, it wouldn't matter anymore since Eugene didn't have the chance to spread the info. Now that Joel's dead too... I don't see any reason to bring Eugene up again. To me his wife sounded like she knew that Joel killing him was justified, but had a hard time to accept the necessity. So I don't think there's more to it and Eugene was bit and he just killed him off before he 'turns'. I think Jesse also mentioned that Eugene had left the Fireflies early on (just like Tommy). Maybe that's how he even happened to know Tommy and settled in Jackson. Eugene seemed to have been part of the Jackson community way before Joel and Ellie arrived there. This is another reason I don't think Eugene knew about Ellie's immunity or that him having been part of the Fireflies had anything to do with his death.

Nimu

I don't wanna spoil too much, but if they didn't change the story massively, we are going to get a deeper look into the Abby character, which might change the way you view her right now. She wasn't only introduced to kill Joel and disappear. I'd highly recommened to keep on watching, since the actual story is just about to begin.

Jan T

@Nimu Thanks for the response, but I don’t believe anything in Abby’s past, or character development can excuse her actions. There has to be something innately wicked and twisted in the core of someone’s being that would enable them to enjoy slowly torturing someone to death, no matter what the circumstances. I’m not really interested in continuing to watch if this show is going to try to make us empathise with Abby. She is irredeemable in my eyes.

Angelina Sargent

Yeah after watching this last week's episode I think you maybe correct. Lol 😆 I figured we would be in the settlement longer to give Moira Rose more scenes. Idk if that's going to happen with them not even being around anymore. 😕

Chrissy

Doesn't matter that I knew it was coming, it's so freakin' gut wrenching. Dang 😭 Bella's acting is out of this world.
