The Fugitive 1993 FULL REACTION

Comments

Octavia

This was both a critical and commercial success. It was the 3rd highest grossing film of 1993... and it was nominated for 7 Academy Awards, including Best Picture. Tommy Lee Jones won an Oscar for best supporting actor for his performance. The Fugitive was originally a popular 1960s tv series. Where Dr. Richard Kimble escaped custody and pursued the one-armed man while eluding authorities each week. When it ended... its Series Finale was the most watched tv episode ever, at that time. Harrison Ford and particularly Tommy Lee Jones really bring this to life. They give their all and elevate this action thriller into a really believably suspenseful cat & mouse game. Thank you for choosing it.

Here in the United States, major cities dye their water ways green for Saint Patrick's day. Even here in Dallas, TX.

Great movie, great for reactions. A sophisticated pick for sophisticated people.

So good to watch this again. For years, my brothers and I would often say "Where you at, Desmondo?" when looking for someone or something. You mentioned Patriot Games. Another great movie. In it, Harrison Ford was the first of 5 actors to play the character Jack Ryan. The most recent incarnation of that character occurred in an excellent television series (Jack Ryan), worth considering for a future pick. Lots of great Harrison Ford films. Witness is another classic. Ford also had a small role in Apocalypse Now, a film that I will suggest again some time.

The transit cop that was shot by Sykes was played by Neil Flynn... probably best known as the Janitor in 'Scrubs', the dad in 'The Middle', as well as playing Lindsay Lohan's dad in 'Mean Girls'. He also appears with Ford again in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. There's actually a whole Scrubs episode related to the Janitor being in The Fugitive.

Terrific movie, with Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones at the top of their game. Holds up very well, and I really enjoyed seeing it again with Rob and Trin’s reactions.

Witness is one of my faves. It's on here. Can't go wrong with Harrison Ford. I also enjoy some of his more 'change of pace' roles with Working Girl and What Lies Beneath.

I’ve never seen a movie where the detective is this intelligent this man was thinking of every single possibility. It makes the movie so much more entertaining when the tension is this high because the cops aren’t being idiots. Fun fact: on St Patrick’s day Chicago and a few other cities do in fact dye the entire rivers neon green

I was almost 6 years old when this came out. Bit grew up watching a lot with my dad 💜💜

MarySoul

I was about to talk about What lies beneath, it would be an excellent segue to this Harrison Ford 😊

I used to watch these movies with my dad. I think that’s why till this day I like them so much (Dr. Richard Kimble is one of my favorite Harrison Fords 😊). My dad wasn’t the type to say, “yes I’ll watch Mary Poppins with you”, it was more like let’s watch Die Hard, Terminator, Alien, Air Force One, hahaha! 😂 I miss him as much as those movie times with him! I thank you for this revisit!

And TLJ’s “rant” at the beginning of the movie, started a lifetime of pop culture references, which is always very funny. 😄 Was very happy at the time that he wan the Oscar, even though many contest it because the Schindlers list’s nominate, but personally, I don’t agree.

This was one of my dad’s favorite movies too. He made me watch it as a teen and it also became one of mine. Thanks to my dad for forcing me to watch these kind of movies when I was a teenager, I would have missed out on a lot !! He also made me watch Shawshank and Con Air, which is 2 of my favorite movies to this day. Lots more but those stand out bc I remember really not wanting to watch “that crap” 😂. Miss my dad so much 💔

If you ever watch North By Northwest with Cary Grant, pay attention to the hotel bellhop.

Every time that one police detective with the glasses says a line, I expect him to follow it up with "Da Bears!"

Cindy

Yes, Harrison Ford played Jack Ryan in Patriot Games and Clear and Present Danger. Love them both. So good.

Stormy Waters

There is a The Fugitive 2, only it isn't about Harrison Ford's Kimble. Its about the marshals, and it's called U. S. Marshals.

Keyuana Gray

Definitely watch US Marshall's, it's the same team hunting a new fugitive. Just as good. You guys would enjoy

Classic 90s action\thriller film..Haven't watched this in forever, and it feels very 90s, but that's not a bad thing.. I also miss movies where the protagonist and the antagonist are both very intelligent and don't do dumb things for reason of pushing the plot forwards..The only 'dumb' thing Kimble really does is respond to his name on the staircase but that, I think, as Rob mentioned is a natural thing to do.. And I totally forgot the late, great Andreas Katsulas was in this movie as the one-armed man..He would probably be most well known for the sci-fi tv show Babylon 5 or for multiple episodes of Star Trek The Next Generation..

Glad you picked up about “Rose” from LOST as a character in this film. Also, Dr Arzt was one of the detectives too. (Tall guy with another good Chicago mustache ❤️

There is also an Anime inspired buy the TV series.
