Been so excited for this all day!

So glad you are carrying on with the Dexter universe! Thank you ❤️

Bradley Weeks

A great beginning episode and the casting is excellent. I didn't realize Dexter and I were both born in 1971. Dexters a few months older. My birthday is tomorrow.

I'm so glad you guys enjoyed this 1st episode so much!! This prequel is honestly better than it had the right to be and I think this 1st episode is the weakest (not in a bad way, just that the episodes after this are even BETTER!) i'm excited to on this journey with y'all :D

darg

even just the sole fact that Sarah Michelle Gellar (BUFFY!!!) is in this makes me love this even more

Julia

It was hard for me to accept some actors as younger versions of characters but this show is great! By the end I was in love with all actors and enjoyed their performance, they all did great! Matsuka and Maria are my favorite, spot on!

Stormy Waters

Ironically the disposal method of using alligators isn't the first time I've seen it in a TV show. In the show Nip/Tuck they do the same thing to get rid of a body, only in that show they make note that alligators aren't all that fond of human meat but love pig meat. They end up buying a bunch of ham and wrap it around the body to make the gators eat it. Pointless comment I know but this episode reminded me of it nonetheless lol.

I saw a couple of episodes of this a while back and seeing different actors in the original roles was just too weird to me. But I guess knowing what was coming, I enjoyed seeing it this time much more. I’ll definitely see the rest of the series now. Great to see Sarah Michelle Gellar. It makes me want to binge watch Buffy all over again. 🙂

The original show lost me in the last few seasons and New Blood was meh, but this one has a pretty good start, despite the overly heavy nostalgia (did we really need 3 Matsuka laughs lol). Did anyone else notice the Enron booth at the job fair...those poor souls will be regretting their decision in about a decade...nice detail.

Janet

It does get better and better!

James

DEXTER LIVES!!! As to what you mentioned about the ending of new blood, how so did it make you dislike Harrison? Dexter told Harrison to shoot him, I saw it as a mutual understanding, neither of them really wanted it to happen but they did what was best in the situation. They honestly did some amazing casting for each character I loved seeing everyone younger. Including seeing actual harry for the first time and not dexters version of him. Very excited to see more of this, I missed Masukas laugh too this actor nails it

Michael

I love Dexter as much as anyone but him dying is right and I was satisfied with New Blood ending for him. Yeah he's charming and funny and grows but he needed to be put down. I just don't like a surprise resurrection and now we go again

Michael Harn

This season is great! I had a hard time getting used to Slater as Harry, but he does good enough. The story they do this season is genuinely a fun ride.

FedeM

I loved New Blood and I'm really enjoying this new era so far, the actors for young Dexter and Deb did an amazing job in replicating their mannerisms and tone. It's going to be fun!

James

Same I saw that ending as very fitting for his character

AlexH88

I started watching this and when I clicked you guys would watch it I stopped haha. Looking forward to this!

Large Big79

This new dexter actor plays james bond in the upcoming 007 game

Kamanda Hickey

I started watching it but didn’t finish it just for lack of time. So happy you are watching it 🙌🏾. The way they rebooted the theme is awesome!

Rogue Reaper

Don’t know if anyone mentioned but we did see Dexter use a gun to kill someone near the end of season 2 when he was saving doakes from those drug smugglers near the cabin.

Octavia

Looking forward to this. They all evoke the characters well... except young Deb does not come across as Deb to me. And it's all seems just mimicry rather than originality. But it's nostalgically entertaining so far. I like the story framework... anchoring it to New Blood Dexter with his life flashing before his eyes. (I liked New Blood's ending though... even if he didn't die. Dexter needs to meet his end eventually. And I think he would rather die on his own terms than go to prison. He's ruined many lives, and caused lots of unnecessary deaths, by wanting to do things his way rather than the right way.)

Jan T

I agree about Deb. Not that this actress is bad, she just doesn’t convincingly capture Deb’s presence for me. I think Michael C. Hall’s narration really helps sell this show.

Octavia

Agreed... the narration and echoing of the original show in music and opening titles, covering things we know, propels much of the hook of the series. And very true... good acting from actress playing Deb... but I just don't see her becoming Jennifer Carpenter's Deb. The swearing seems a bit forced also. This girl is never gonna be tall, tomboy figured Deb. Heck Jennifer Carpenter is 5'9"... Molly Brown is 5'3". It's an odd choice when, for almost every other established character, they went for strong likenesses.
