i LOVED these first 2 episodes. It's def a lot stronger than New Blood (and I'm one of the few who liked New Blood, but I understand why people had issues with it). There's a lot more of that familiar Dexter dark humor to Resurrection so far that was missing with New Blood, but there's enough New Blood here that they're not trying to wash their hands of it completely (tho I do wish they'd do an opening for it. Idk why they brought it back for Original Sin and didn't give Resurrection its own. I guess cuz the vibe is just that different lol). The explanation they gave in ep1 was pretty weak, but I think they did that on purpose. They had kinda written themselves into a corner with the end of New Blood cuz they never thought they'd return to Dexter (it was clear they wanted to do a Harrison spin off but ppl ended up hating his character by the end of New Blood. Not me, but that def put a damper on those plans). So I'm totally okay with them just being like "yeah this is the explanation we're going with, now lets move on with the plot". As far as Harrison goes, I'm glad they had him break and kill someone in the first episode instead of focusing much on the "will he or won't he do it". It moves his story along and now we can deal with the fallout of that and whatever comes next for Harrison and if he'll eventually do it again. Angel being back is soooo amazing, and clearly not just as a one-off guest role. He told that cop to tell him if Dexter's truck is sold or anything and Harrison has now sold it so :D Having seen the trailer, I know a general direction this is heading, and there's a theory going around that I'm completely on board with. You guys not knowing anything, I'm super excited what you're going to think of that plotline and since we're all watching this together, I'm excited to see where the rest of this season goes... but not only this season, this series as its been confirmed to be a multiple season series. Makes me super curious what they have planned for the long run. And I hope that when the day comes that the show does end, they'll finally knock the ending out of the park like this series deserves.

Thought it was very interesting that they brought Scott Buck back this season, he wrote this episode and was the showrunner for seasons 6, 7 and 8 which a lot of people think are the weakest ones. He's actually written some of the best episodes of the show including "Hello Dexter Morgan" and the episode where Doakes catches him at the cabin.

But, he was cursed by being the writer of the season 8 finale! Interesting to see him back!

I already love what they’re doing with the killer this season. We’ve only seen him once but he shares so many similarities to Dexter already even down to the name “dark passenger” the uber driver reminds me a lot of brother Sam from the main show I think that’s what his name was. New York City as a set piece was also an incredible idea, a lot of stories to be had in a place like that. This is shaping up to be some of the best Dexter stuff in a while.

Same I feel like I’m one of the few people that genuinely thought new blood was really enjoyable. Also same for Harrison, I’ve always liked seeing his character I find him interesting

Now that Dexter is in New York city, wee can have him with a crossover with the MC characters in the Netflix shows like Daredevil and Jessica Jones.

Showtime imposed a lot of restrictions on him, I think most of the blame lies with the execs on that one

This new serial killer is creepy and I am loving it. I am scared for Harry Jr aka Harrison because he hasn't been trained to act normal under pressure like Dexter was since he was a kid.
