Wow Rob, How drunk were you?! Hahahaha

Anthony Ancona

He wasn't drunk, just sleep deprived. Join us on voice chat on discord!

Hello Anthony, I’ve been trying to join the Discord talk but haven’t been able to figure it out — maybe it’s just me, but I can’t seem to get in. Any tips you can share?

I have seen this movie several times, and I have forgotten how refreshing it is to see it from the perspective of those who have never seen it. I truly appreciate the authenticity in this reaction. Thank you!

Nina

This is the first foreign language film to win best picture at the oscars. It also won best director, screenplay and best international film. And like 300 (!) other awards (not kidding)

The rock stands for wealth. When it was given to him his friend said that it means the family will become very wealthy. That's why the son was holding on to it. But what I also noticed is when their basement was flooded the rock was floating in the water instead of sinking. Which metaphorically means that it was just an illusion. Their social climb was never real. Also this movie is full of stairs. in the house of course you see them so many times. And when they had to get down to their own basement. It's a very symbolic of the conflict between the poor and the rich. And if you go up the stairs, you climb socially. Also the smell the father was talking about was the smell of poverty. It's not that funny actually. It shows that even though he let's the people work for him, he also looks down on them. They will never be in the same class as he is. They smell differently. It's also very interesting that the sister is the one that dies. Because she was the smartest of them all and her brother said that she's the only one that belongs here. And it's crazy to see how quickly the one poor family turned on the other poor family. Because they think they are above them now. But like I said - it's not real. The son will never be able to buy the house. He made a plan but as the father said plans usually don't work out. I think this movie is brilliant. It has great characters, and to me there are no true villains in this movie. It's not black and white. I feel for all of them. It's very sad and also very funny. I love dark humor. And I think it deserves all the praise it has gotten. Including all the oscars.

They literally lived not only below everyone else, but also lower than the toilet.

Hello Mary, to join in to the chats it's simply a case of scrolling down to where it says voice channels in the server and you'll actually see a few different rooms titled like Vegas or Reno or Streaming, and you would just typically join whichever room you see people in ( not always the same room), once you join the room you have the chance to chat or mute yourself and watch the streams or games others are sharing. Hope that helps. Also worth double checking you have all the sections open in the server or you may not even see them lol look for any > symbols for a drop down menu, they were maybe hidden lol

This movie has been on my watchlist and I just haven't been able to get around to it until now. And I liked it far more than I thought I would. That mid-film reveal is an absolute rug-pull. There are probably two reasons why Parasite hasn't had an American remake - 1: it was hugely well-received here, winning the Best Picture Oscar (usually more obscure films are remade), and 2: the American remake would suuuuuuck!

Rob & Trin React!

Drunk would be way more fun than not sleeping for a week lol 🥰

aww love you guys, providing content for all you guys is a pleasure, honestly 💕

MarySoul

@TheGrouch74 Thank you! I’ll try your suggestions! 🙏🏼

MarySoul

It worked! now I just have to figure out the do and don’ts as a first time user 😜

MarySoul

I wanted to see it when it had its moment and hype but the poster really mislead me.. I was like.. zombies? not in the mood, worst? petrifying ghosts as only the Koreans can do? no, thank you. But as a social commentary a mindf**c is quite the piece. I would never feel the need to rewatch it, but it has a very powerful cinematic and storytelling point of view.
