ABSOLUTE BANGER IVE BEEN WAITING ALL MONTH FOR THIS! I’m about to watch it now and I already know y’all are gonna love it

El Paso / Juarez might be the craziest city I’ve ever visited. Just a sprawling city divided right in half by the US/Mexico border. The contrast between the two sides left me speechless.

Honestly, to understand the drug trade and how it works you'd have to go back decades. It's years of corruption and crime and theres just so much information. If you want to understand it better you should watch- Narcos & Narcos: mexico. Eventhough it's a dramatized version of events it still shows you how everything came to be.

Maybe Yellowstone after Dexter Resurrection

its also a Taylor Sheridan project like this.

AnGeLuS

this here is a Denis Villeneuve project. Or do you mean just because of the script?

Sherylin Johnson

So Sicario was written by Taylor Sheridan- He played Hale the sheriff in SoA-- He's also created, wrote and directed a ton of recent TV shows: Yellowstone, 1883, Lioness, Mayor of Kingstown, Tulsa King and a few more. He's a great writer and director.

Also yall need to watch Severance after Dexter Resurrection!!! It's only 2 seasons and under 20 total episodes so it won't drag on and its PHENOMENAL. Either that or Ozark!

Michael Celia

Totally forgot Jon Bernthal was in this...the complete antithesis to the Punisher... Benicio del Toro is also really good in Steven Soderbergh's Traffic for which he won his Oscar.

Denis Villeneuve(?) has a great knack for using the environment to contribute to the feel and mood. Some of the landscape shots were just phenomenal in setting the anxiety and sense of impending danger or doom. Very little levity in this except for the bar scene which transitioned into one of the more disturbing scenes. But it works. Taylor Sheridan (Deputy Hale from SoA) is a great writer. Another good one from him that has the same kind of dark anxiety feel is Wind River.

I'm so glad you both loved the movie! It's one of my top 10 favs of all time tbh. It's shot BEAUTIFULLY and was edited/made like a damn masterpiece. The deeper meaning behind it was great too. The director is a master at building tension as well. That border crossing scene had me literally tensed up to the max degree! The shot right after they return to base with the prisoner when Kate first starts yelling at Matt for them killing those bandits at the crossing was great too. The director chose to shoot their conversation from really far away which is very unusual but it was genius because it made it feel like we were eavesdropping on a conversation we were not supposed to hear. Emily Blunt and Benicio Del Toro were both phenomenal with the acting too, even the score was amazing. Overall such a top tier film.
