Mission Impossible II 2000 FULL REACTION

It's all uphill from here ;)

Octavia

The 'weakest' in the series, still good though. But from #3 on... buckle up & hold on!

Farva

I have a soft spot for M:I2. It was the first Mission: Impossible movie I had seen, and kid me freakin loved it.

Octavia

I love John Woo... but I think this one just wasn't 'John Woo' enough in style to really wow. (I mean Face/Off is my favorite guilty pleasure movie. I can watch it endlessly.)

Farva

Tom Cruise really wanted to free climb the cliff at the beginning of the movie in real life. John Woo and the producers refused, and made him wear climbing gear that was edited out in post. Tom Cruise can do a lot of things, but free climbing may have been his limit if they let him do it.

Thurrak

I don't get the "weakest in the series" talk. Like its a John Woo film. It's obviously not going to be in the same style as the rest of them. It's still a great film. Lots of fun.

trlb

*knows what comes after this one* Let's goooooooo

AnGeLuS

And the Soundtrack is fire :D

Love the commitment in this one Rob! ”Butter my ass” was it? LMAO 😆🤣😂

Nina

yes but I don't like the John Woo style for this movie. It's fine for Face/Off but not Mission Impossible. Also: One of them has to be in last place. It's not a bad movie, the other ones are just far better. Also: This is the only movie in the franchise where Ethan is not consistent. No matter who the director is for the other seven movies, Ethan is always the same person. He envolves, yes, he developes as a person, but he's still the same character. But in this movie, he's an entirely different person. The villain looks like he just jumped out of a cartoon. It just doesn't fit with the other movies of the franchise, and that's why I'm not the biggest fan of it. Of course it's a lot of fun, I love Tom Cruise, I always love watching him. And the movie is still enjoyable with some great scenes in it.

Rob: "Please tell me he did that stunt for real" The guy climbed the Burj Khalifa and jumped from the top of the Stade de France on live international television...he did it for real. Is this movie predictable and over-the-top? Yes. Is it still fun as hell? Also yes. Also, if you want to see more of Thandiwe Newton (and I do mean "more") check out Westworld. She is fantastic in that series.

GoodDocGonzo

I was wondering if you'd continue these when I watched the newest installment last night!

John Borek

Yes! This is one of my favorites tbh

Nina

Ethan from Lost is Tom Cruise's cousin by the way 😀 And of course the soundtrack is great - it's Hans Zimmer!! And Tom really did that "knife in the eye" stunt. Maybe the craziest thing he's done so far. Never in a million years would I let a knife this close to my eyes. I'm having a hard time watching this scene without blinking the entire time. But it's like I said before - it's always shot in a way that you can see Tom Cruise doing it and not someone else. If you're using a stuntman you have to shoot all those scenes very differently. Tom's all you need though.

Kitikits

The whole Lost conspiracy was wild. Don't know of anyone who has thought about this movie that way lol. Fun reaction!

Nina

Excuse me? 😂 Tom Cruise with long hair is unbelievably attractive 😍 And yes - he does have long hair right now as well. And he still looks great.

GoodDocGonzo

Thomas Cruise Mapother IV 🤭

Chris B

Well, I personally think MI:2 is by far the weakest but I guess that depends how you define what MI is, and that could be sth completely different for many people. I personally find MI the strongest when there's more of a serious tone with more espionage/spy stuff and action is used more sparingly. Yes, it's a John Woo film and I wouldn't expect anything different from him, I just wouldn't have picked John Woo to direct. A little bit too goofy for my taste. But, I also have big critics regarding the newest ones which we won't go into right now to avoid tapping into spoilers ;)

Abby

if you want a show to enjoy the Pretty Girl more you should watch Westworld! 😍 she’s amazing in it!

Keyuana Gray

Rob it's funny you say Thandie Newton looks like Zoe Saldana, they both have mentioned in interviews how they are always being mistook for the other so you're spot on

Crusader

the actor that you guys said was Skarsgard, it's actually the wrong person, this guy's name is Brendan Gleeson, he was also in Harry Potter as Moody (with the weird eye) and he was also in Braveheart :D
