No, it isn't. Every Flanagan show is something new. A completely new story. Some of the actors also appear in the other shows, but they always play completely different characters. A bit like American Horror Story. The Haunting of Bly Manor has nothing to do with this story.

They are separate mini-series... and there are more than 2... that like to reuse some of the cast in different roles. But each is its own story. Just different pieces of the larger Flanagan-verse. I do hope they eventually react to Bly Manor and Midnight Mass. All good shows.

Haunting of Hill House season 2 is in the wikepedia for bly manor. Black mirror is completely anthology with all new people in each episode and completely unrelated stories yet it’s still seasons from the same show. Same with AHS. You wouldn’t claim AHS is a single season show right? Cuz I’ve never heard anyone say that. They are already watching this so it’s not a big deal but I was just pointing out technically this isn’t a one season show :)

Every AHS season has AHS in the title before the season subtitle name. The Haunting of Bly Manor is NOT titled Haunting of Hill House: The Haunting of Bly Manor. It's just 'The Haunting of Bly Manor'. Same with 'Midnight Mass'. Almost all of AHS is an interwoven anthology that ties into each other. The Flana-verse is a collection of standalone miniseries.

So the exact amount of letters being in each title decides whether it’s a season 2 or not? What’s the cutoff? 4 letters? 3? AHS anthology ties into each other just as much as Haunting series. Same with black mirror. Either all three are all separated shows each time or none of them are

I've only seen this and The Haunting of Bly Manor. Midnight Mass and The House of the Fall of Usher initially caught my interest but I never started either of them. Maybe Rob and Trin will do all of them so I'll have a reason to watch.

You actually did see kid Theo in the first episode. She comes out of her room and talks to Steve when he's on his way to Nell and Luke's room. I think it might be easy to mistake her for Shirley because we don't see her as a kid again for the rest of the episode.

Yes exactly! Haunted seasons are great but I just know they’ll love the mind bending of Severance too and it’s super short! Only 18 episodes I think between the two seasons

I guess I'll rephrase... One of my favorite shows ever. Felt like that was implied but I forget that people REALLY care about other people's opinions. Although... I don't think I'd have that hard of a time arguing its position as ONE OF the greatest shows ever. Just depends on what you like I suppose.

I’ve never heard of this show before but I’m excited to give it a shot with you guys. So far so good, I like the story and it’s actually pretty creepy which is good. I like the idea of doing shorter shows first then going to longer ones but i hope shows don’t get skipped over by mistake because it doesn’t make it onto a list

If I get bored during Spooky Season, I might to go ahead without Rob and Trin. Starting new shows is so hard for me. It usually takes 3-4 episodes for me to get into it good. And I have adhd so my attention span isn't built like that, lol. I mostly find stuff by accident or rewatch comfort shows.

You can suggest shows on the discord. Right now they’re taking suggestions for shows with 1-3 seasons. But for a while they’re only doing 1 season shows

I happened across Midnight Mass by accident long after it originally aired. Watched first episode and could not stop until I binged the entire series. The fact that it was only a 1 season story made it even more special because the writers won't get bored with it if it goes on too long. You know it is going to end soon and you don't want to miss anything.

Bblack, no need to rephrase. The quality of any show is subjective to the viewer. I have "greatest shows ever" myself. Although, after Dexter I was more like "Yeah..it is finally over". LOL!

Trin, lean in. Yes this show has seriously creepy moments, but I promise you that the heart is in the siblings' stories. There is horror but above everything else, there is heart and that is what this show is about. I promise if you lean into the feelings it brings, it will outshine the horror ten fold

It is one of the greatest shows. Masterfully filmed and acted. And it is highly regarded as such. Especially in its metaphors for trauma.

What? It has nothing to do with letters. 'American Horror Story' precedes every season, followed by a subtitile. And the majority of AHS is connected to itself... as in multiple seasons join together to interact. This is not the case for Mike Flanagan's shows. They are all completely standalone. He's just known for making spooky miniseries.

I was completely against this show just bc of the hype around it and then i gave in and I was HOOKED IMMEDIATELY!!!!! That never happens - usually takes several episodes. I know for certain they would love it! I haven't heard of anyone yet that doesn't, even if they are like "Wtf" for the entire first season. Please be sure you get on Discord and let them know that way it makes onto a poll after we're done with 1 season shows.

I wholeheartedly agree with you. Creepy/Horror are fun to watch, but too much too soon it loses its scares. Mixing it up keeps the creep factor creepy. I have never seen Chernobyl, but really hoping for Band of Brothers. So very good and very well done. So many things I would want to write about on BOB but am not going to spoil it for anyone that has not seen it yet.

So I love that you guys are going to start doing some limited series! That does help those of us that aren't a fan of the big shows you're doing right now. Fantastic idea! I've never seen this one, so I tried some of it with you. It's a bit too scary for me. I had to stop at some point in the first episode because it was stressing me out too much. I swear I was getting scared when someone would just walk in the room. It's the anticipation of something scary I think. It looks like a quality show though. Hope everyone enjoys!! Anyway, can't wait to see what you have coming up!

Queens Gambit would be great! The night of is also an awesome 1 season show. Fleabag is 2 seasons but only 12 eps total and a fun watch. Def here for a few quick watches. Oh, and Adolescence would be amazing to watch again if they haven't already seen it.

I don't think it was as good as The Wire. It would be hard to be THAT good. LOL I did enjoy it though. I thought it was interesting to see what life was like in post Katrina New Orleans and two of my favorite actors from The Wire did have big roles in it.
