Abby

I’m such a addict 😂

I wish I would savor this, but I need my Crain family fix... so I can't click fast enough.

Luke started to get cold right around the time Nell would have been found and refrigerated. Rigor Mortis setting in so he's feeling stiff. One of the saddest twin things I could imagine..

I know Steve doesn't come across as sympathetic as Luke... because we're seeing the sweet little boy transitions to the vulnerable, tormented but trying, Luke. Steve is dismissive, for sure... but I think that's actually pretty realistic as the oldest. And I can totally understand how Steve, Shirley, and Theo have been burned out so many times in trying to help Luke. To the point here where they are afraid to be betrayed again (in their view). We hear about how Luke has f'ed them over... but we just don't see much of that. So it's easy to sympathize more with Luke (as well as Nell). But at what point do you not step back to protect yourself? I've seen it with family... where your emotional support is taken advantage of so repeatedly that you do have to draw a line. Like here... Leigh was right to not offer her couch to Luke & Joey. (And Steve wasn't wrong about Joey.) Because she's probably woken up previously to find that Luke had robbed her & Steve. Steve definitely should be less dismissive, I agree. But my heart breaks for each one of them... each sibling processing their childhood trauma in differently numbing ways.

I was like Trin in that I’m not always great with horror. But as she said, you quickly get caught up in the story so the horror side seems less important. The story telling in this show is really top-notch. Mike Flanagan’s Midnight Mass and The Haunting of Bly Manor are also fantastically good.

Getting each Crain kid's perspective per episode, in descending order, is a very cool way to put their pieces of the puzzle together to build out the bigger picture.

The Fall of the House of Usher also had strong episodes :)

Steven's relationship with and attitude towards Luke can be hard to watch, I know. From my own experience, dealing with someone like Luke, takes a seemingly endless amount of patience, compassion, and forgiveness. Sometimes you just have nothing left to give, at least for a while.

I finished Hellblade 2 on PlayStation yesterday, and there's a line in the game that also fits the series: "Every Monster Was Once A Man."

Rob & Trin React!

Yeah they really been living with it for longer than we see but i guess we will get more as we go also. Great shows really make you feel and think so they got us there haha

Close it out means close the tab. I've never been across the big pond so I have no idea but in the US, we can leave a debit or credit card at the bar and start a tab. We say it when we're done and ready to leave. They ring us up and give us our card back and we're on our way.

Rob & Trin React!

ahhh okay, that makes sense. Never done that in my life lol. We usually have a slate and pay it up when we can (if you know the owner ofc)

I've never been a huge drinker but i have been in party settings where its elbow to elbow. I would imagine it would take forever to pay for each drink individually every time you go get one, even with 10-12 bartenders.

The basement of the foster family looked normal to me. The majority of homes in the US have basements, other than areas where the water table is high. So many families will turn all or a portion of their basement into a family room, man cave, playroom, bedroom etc. There would be couches, chairs, TVs. It is treated like any other livable space in the home. Although it is often finished off so it looks like any other room in the house. I have a basement with chairs, TV, craft table, carpeting. During a hot summer it can be a cooler place to hang out.

I have two brothers that have destroyed my family because of their addictions so I understand Steve completely. He's pessimistic about Luke getting better because it's probably been decades of that same conversation which follows them needing help or money.

I haven't watched this in a few years. I had forgotten how well crafted each episode was. So glad your watching this and I appreciate your bravery Trin.

Lucinda Michel

I hear you- brother and a sister. Hard to explain to anyone who hasn’t been through it themselves.

James

Amazing show! I love how they can go back and forth between different times and it flows perfectly. These people are traumatized I don’t know how they didn’t off themselves. Theo and Luke are my favorite characters so far, both of them are really interesting. All the actors are doing a great job though

Carrie Smith

The first thing I saw Henry Thomas in after E.T. was Legends of the Fall with Anthony Hopkins, Brad Pitt, Julia Ormond and Aidan Quinn in 1994. He played the you gest brother, Samuel.
