the ep 8 jumpscare really is prob my fave jumpscare of all jumpscares ever. like you said, it's done sooooo well because they pull you into the plot and the story and the monologues and you're so focused and this show doesn't really do jumpscares much at all and haven't since literal early episodes and then they hit you with THAT (watching compilations of ppl reacting to the jumpscare is hilarious) pretty sure i also screamed the first time i saw it fun fact, apparently the actress (Victoria) was told to jump out whenever she wanted to and i think she jumped out really early and scared the hell out of the other two actually, at least that's what i've heard. best way to do that

Ghost Mom

FYI what the cop was doing in the interrogation room was not being a 'good cop' he was intentionally stressing hugh out with delay tactics and telling him he'd look guilty if he left or asked for a lawyer, when the true fact is, you should be asking for a lawyer immediately, especially if it looks as bad as it did.

I'm sure there has been atleast 1 comment talking about *That* jump scare. There's compilations of people reacting to that scene and I guarantee you'll find yourselves in another compilation after the Halloween season! hahah Everyone who watches reactors for this show countdown the episodes to THAT scene. And you didn't disappoint! :D

AlexH88

i thought the conjuring mirror jump scare would never be beaten LMAO

Angelina Sargent

I actually expected a jump scare of some sort to show up during that scene when I first watched this series. Just cause I noticed a trend of when two of the family members start fighting Nell somehow interrupts the fight to make them stop. I was waiting on a deer in the road or a truck or Nell as bent neck lady to show up in the middle of the road while driving. So it didn't get me as bad as everyone else I've noticed. Lol I also watched a behind the scenes about this scene and they actually didn't tell the actresses that nell was going to do that when she was in the back of the car so they legit got perfect cutss when she actually did it. Hahahaha 😆

Angelina Sargent

The behind the scenes stuff I read and watched said that they never told the actresses she was going to do that type of scream during the scene.

Anika

I wanted to mention, I heard that that jump scare in the car, Shirley and Theo actors didn't know when it was going to happen, so those were their real responses.

Octavia

I love the way that older Hugh explains it... Hill House is hungry and they are its unfinished meal. It wants to consume them.

SlipS_Tiger

I felt more threatened by the cop than him coming off as a nice cop, especially after he pressured the father into not getting a lawyer.

Michael Celia

Man, even Nell's ghost had had enough of Sheryl. You know you're in the wrong when even ghosts are telling you to shut up...

Rob & Trin React!

yeah i kinda meant he seemed good at putting him at ease to get what he needs from him. Yeah always lawyer up for sure

So sorry to say Rob..i rewound it twice and couldn't stop laughing , because i knew it was coming and everyone I've seen watch this, that jump scare gets them everytime! its soooo good! Well done Trin for getting through it 😁👻

Rob & Trin React!

heart rate went through the roof! 😂 glad we did not get a spoiler tbh lol

💜 Hannah 💜

Same! that would be so sad if it was. Now all you need to do is a Highlight reel 🤩

Nathan

Rob really put me new air pods to the test with that scream holy shit, also we got trin to say “fuck” this was a good couple of episodes 😂

Nina

Rob you need to watch some best of reactions on youtube for this scene. It's hilarious 😂😂

Ashgar77

That "Scattered" monologue by Mr. Dudley is so good. Very underrated, what an amazing performance.

GoodDocGonzo

I love all of the monologues and long one-shots in this series. Some of it feels like it could be a stage play.

Victoria Davis

Rewatching this Ive been able to notice the hidden ghosts when they are in hill house. I only noticed 2 the first time watching this series

Melissa O'Neall

I rewound that part 3 times and I was dying laughing each and every time!

Melissa O'Neall

I've watched this series so many times. Often half watching so I don't catch all of them every time but one of the creepiest ones for me is the one hidden in the basement in Episode 7.

James

Holy shit that was a genuine scream Rob. Amazing episodes, the performances are great
