Titan99snpr

OMFG this was unexpected. Can’t wait for this and the pacific!!!

AlexH88

Always wanted to watch this! excited to give it a shot with you guys!

Nathan

Love this show! And not just because it has my favourite Walking Dead character in it, the one and only Abraham Ford 👊🏼

Farva

Rob: "If this is the vibe of the show, I might cry" Prepare yourself.

blorgins

wow, what a phenomenal surprise!! One of the greatest mini-series ever created.

Cindy

Band of Brothers (2001) is the first WWII film of a trilogy. The second film is The Pacific (2010) and the third is Masters of the Air (2024). FYI, the older men you see and hear at the beginning are the actual men of Easy Company portrayed in the film.

Bradley Weeks

Thrilled you chose to do this now. I have watched this a few times, but it's been at least a decade since seeing it last. Glad to be watching this again.

SYN

Ngl I’ve never seen this but as soon as he said give them a special meal I knew he was gonna smoke them after— 😩

Marty McGee

Yeah it's hard not to see Ross in the beginning. I think everyone chuckles when he first comes on screen. But eventually he blends into the character. You'll continue to see tons of familiar faces. A lot of these guys got their starts or their breaks on this show. There are a lot of names to keep track of, but by the end they'll feel like your own family. I watch this whenever I see reactors watching it and at least once a year on my own around Memorial Day in the US.

Michael Celia

This aired at a time when HBO was producing these big-event miniseries (From the Earth to the Moon, Angels in America, The Pacific) and were popular water cooler topics afterwards. They were given massive budgets compared to pretty much anything else on TV at the time...sort of a precursor to the big-budget streaming shows we have now.

Tay

Sobel was a great drill sergeant, he just wasn’t good at actual war decision making.

Crusader

Okay! this is exciting! I had no idea you would watch this!

Anthony Ancona

Each episode had an average budget of 12.5 million dollars. This was the most expensive miniseries for its time. They also spent 15 million for promoting the show.

Nightwitch

My favorite show of all time <3 1000/10!

FedeM

Wow Damian Lewis seems incredibly young in this! Even his voice sounds so different... excited to watch more with R&T!

James

Excited to see where this show will go, it seems very high quality and masterfully made. Sobel was such an insufferable asshole, that is not how you lead or train people that’s just cruel and unusual punishment for no reason. Then after all that tough guy shit he’s going to be all anxious about doing things the people he’s training have no problem with.

James

Definitely not a great leader in any way, shape or form. A leader needs to be respected by his people, his behavior turned all of his men against him. That’s not training, that’s a sociopath put in a position of power

Farva

As crappy as it was, his methods did mould Easy company in to one of the best companies in the 506th. Unifying everyone in their hate for him, and drilling them beyond reason turned them in to great soldiers. He was a terrible tactician though, and would definitely get men killed in the field over his own hubris.

GoodDocGonzo

So many good actors when they were young! I'm not into war films that cater to American Exceptionalism, but I sure do love me some Band of Brothers. No matter what your political affiliation is, I think everyone across the world will say this is one of the few wars they can get behind, and all cheer for EZ Company. This isn't me looking for debate, please don't roast me. ✌️

GoodDocGonzo

Ooooh I didn't know there was a 3rd installment with Masters of Air. Thanks for the info, I'll be adding it to the list. Have you also watched the other series that came out around the same time called Generation Kill?

Cindy

I have watched Generation Kill. Excellent series. Can't pass up watching Alexander Skarsgard! Although I should point out Masters of the Air was not a Spielberg/Hanks creation like the first two.

Cindy

I watch this and The Pacific at least once a year. I had a father and 8 uncles that served in World War II. All 9 came home, a couple had been wounded, but non life-threatening. Given the overall cost in lives for that war, I find that fact astonishing.

Crusader

What’s funny is that i had planned to request this show for a reaction, But i forgot about it, Really cool reaction! and so so many good actors!

Reavezz

Whoa what a great surprise drop! Top tier series

Octavia

Agreed... Uniting a team thru their shared hatred of their trainer was a common tactic to use. I mean... for example, see 'Miracle', the movie about the 1984 US Olympic hockey team. Sobel's failing was not as a drill sergeant... it's a tough method, but it can make soldiers more capable. Terrible mission strategist though. With way too much jealous ego.

Octavia

@Farva... It reminded me of the movie, 'Miracle', about the 1984 USA Olympic hockey team. Uniting a team thru shared dislike of their trainer / training methods was a common tactic to quickly bond & strengthen relative strangers. It's not likable, but it can make them more capable in the long run. He was absolutely a terrible mission strategist though. With too much ego.

Octavia

Such a stacked cast in their fresh-face days. Always love Neal McDonough (Dum Dum Dugan, Damien Darhk), Ron Livingston (have they watched 'Office Space'?), Kirk Acevedo, Damian Lewis, Simon Pegg. Looking forward to all the future reactions. This series is so meaningful to me... I watched it with my dad when it originally aired.

Reavezz

People don't realize that half the reason we won ww2 is because of drill sergeants like this. Training for war is not a joke. Even the smallest things like rust or creases are to teach the men discipline and to harden them for the atrocious and evil things they'll have to mentally prepare for on the battlefield. Sobel is not an evil person even if you think he is, and have sympathy for his troops. This kind of training is down right necessary.

Cindy

I don't think anyone is going to roast you. What I do want to say without giving anything away is there is a scene very late in the series that implies every nationality is representative of the men of Easy Company. Though the nationality of Easy Company is American it could be any nationality caught up in this conflict.

Superpotroast

This is one of those shows that you continually rewatch over and over, because it's just soo well made..It's so good, I somehow ended up with 2 copies of it, the normal bluray and the steelbook..

Farva

I meant to mention this earlier, but wanted to thank you Rob for translating what the British soldier said to Hoobler when he was showing him the Luger. Knew he was getting on to him for taking off with the gun, but never really knew what it meant.

Rob & Trin React!

I knew Trin would be struggling but am glad it helped others 🥰

T3ND0

I'm surprised you didn't mention Abraham from The Walking Dead! Unless I missed it lol.

Kylegriffo

Another great British war show is called sas rogue heroes, only 2 seasons and 6 episodes a season I believe

Kylegriffo

Well another war show
