Wicked 2024 FULL REACTION

Comments

Harold Wright

OMG Yes! I loved this movie, super excited to watch it again along side you guys :)

Kim Magee

Yay been waiting

AnGeLuS

I haven't seen the film version yet, but the musical was simply fantastic live. With the magnificent Willemijn Verkaik as Elphaba. In the German version.

AnGeLuS

The movie with James Franco and Mila Kunis wasn't a musical. It was simply a prequel to The Wizard of Oz and focused more on the wizard. Wicked is also a prequel, but it's more about the witches. Rob was talking about the other film at the beginning.

Rob & Trin React!

Really sorry guys but we had a slight issue with this base uncut file! I will get the streamable link up again asap while i reupload the others. wont be too long <3 forgot to reduce file size so it was massive and took up too much space on our streamable account :(

Rob & Trin React!

ah thank you! :) I enjoyed it but thought they would do a sequel

Rob & Trin React!

Total surprise for us! I will try and let y'all know once the smaller file is uploaded <3

Marinda

Ah, Willemijn, she is so good. I saw her in the Dutch version. Chills

Tessy

I think I'm just as excited to watch it with you guys as I was when it came out.

James

I see what kinda man you are Rob (joking) I liked that bit at the beginning that felt like you forgot to edit it out. I almost saw this in the theater when it came out but I never ended up going so this was my first watch as well. It was good, a little too much singing I would’ve liked some of the more emotional moments to have less singing but it’s a musical so it’s whatever. The idea of a prequel for the wizard of oz is kind of genius, who would’ve thought all those years ago that you’d see the wicked witches backstory

Rob & Trin React!

I was trying to make Trin laugh but when she did not, someone asked me if I meant to leave it in or not so just removed it when i had to compress the file anyways lol, was double the size it is and Streamable is not a cheap site for space 😂Explains why it took all night and morning to upload lol

Chrissy

Yeees!! So fun watching this reaction! It gave me joy! Loved that Rob also noticed some of the nods to the original Wizard of Oz. I love seeing people discover Wicked for the first time, especially picking up on the Wizard of Oz Easter eggs. Wicked the musical (which is based on a book) really pushed into the zeitgeist the now very famous genre of storytelling that retells stories of famous villains to see it through their eyes. It challenges a lot of ideas we have of who we assume is “wicked” and “good” and why we assume those things. This film only covered ACT 1 of the musical. ACT 2 will be part 2, which releases in theaters this month, November 21. Cannot wait for y’all to see part 2! BTW random fun fact. The two actresses in the Emerald City song, One Short Day, who told the story of Oz and you said they looked familiar, they were the original Broadway Elphaba and Glinda (Idina Menzel as Elphaba and Kristin Chenoweth as Glinda). They were some of the Broadway cameos that made it into the film. It was a big surprise and gift to the Broadway fans. Anyway, yay, thank you for choosing this film to react to!

We always like to try something we would never have watched unless we did it for the channel. Was eye opening for us but I do think it is better if you watch The Wizard of Oz classic so you get more out of it 🤘🏼

Kim Magee

Even more fun watching you guys react! Hopefully in a month or two years we'll be watching the sequel

Chrissy

Yes, there’s a lot more you can get out of it if you’ve seen the Wizard of Oz! Trin should definitely see the original before seeing Part 2! You can still get something out of it without seeing the original but Part 2 is for sure best appreciated if you’ve seen the Wizard of Oz.

Michael Celia

Yeah, that movie was Oz the Great and Powerful...and it's...fine. Certainly not as well-made as this.

Michael Celia

I'll admit I never was able to get into the original stage musical for whatever reason, but I enjoyed this adaptation...it's impossible not to get chills during that final scene - Idina Menzel's Defying Gravity is an iconic moment on Broadway, but Cynthia Erivo somehow elevates it even higher (heh, see what I did there) I was actually surprised by Ariana Grande as Glinda - wasn't crazy about her being cast originally, but she perfectly captures the vague ditziness that's prevalent in the original Billie Burke Glinda.

kimburley

Saw the play while in London. So much fun!

James

Glad I got to see the extended cut of this reaction lol.

Bradley Weeks

I haven't been able to watch this reaction yet. Having a crazy day at work. Can't wait to go home and put my feet up Grab a pizza and enjoy this.

Bradley Weeks

Have to admit I've never had that combination. Need to try it. Tonight it's pepperoni, green pepper and onion.

Rob & Trin React!

I actually like me some H&P but it is best on hot days. Yours seems like a better winter combo 🤘🏼

Cindy

Ham, Green Pepper and Green Olives, Yum!

Amber 💙

Add some ham and this is my ultimate combo 🤌

Angelina Sargent

This is my favorite movie. It was so well done. The cinematography, the directing, the music and acting, the fashion designs! It was A+ in every aspect. I cannot wait to see the 2nd one in the next 10 days! My hubby is gonna take me to the movie theater for his birthday!

Bradley Weeks

Thank you Rob and Trin for picking this. I completely understand your fear that this might not be for you. I appreciate that you picked it anyway and gave it a fair shot. After a frustrating day at work it was just a lot of fun to kick back and watch this. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Really looking forward to the second film. Hope you are too.

Brendan R Colquitt

The 2 wise women were played by Kristin Chenoweth and Idina Menzel the very first Glenda and alpheba in the first wicked stage play respectively (and Idina was also Elsa from frozen)

I had absolutely no desire to see this movie at all !! I’m not a fan of the wizard of oz, I don’t like musicals and their promotional interviews were just so bizarre!! But I kept hearing how good it was and so I decided to watch it one day. It was incredible!! It is now one of my FAVORITE movies and I have probably watched it 20 times since. I love when that happens. When your expectations are so low but it proves you wrong. I can not wait for part 2 and I am planning to go the theatre to see it. I wish I would have gone to see part 1 in the theatre. I absolutely love everything about this movie !

Kim Magee

Yeah I think people are crazy but don't like him and pineapple on a pizza over here you order it as Hawaiian pizza

Kim Magee

Sadly people get an idea about musicals without actually going out and watching them, I mean wicked was so fun, the greatest Showman was so good, have you done any more I'm just trying to think

Rob & Trin React!

Sweeny Todd 🤘🏼❤️ Oh and The Nightmare Before Christmas and Sinners (kinda)

Flopsi80

I usually don't like musicals at all. But this one was fun.🙂

Elle

Thoroughly enjoyed rewatching with you guys, and glad you liked it! I was like you both and didn't think it was for me. My niece wanted to watch it so I watched with her, and now have seen it 5 times. Still get emotional when Cynthis Erivo (Elphaba) sings, makes me emotional she's just so beautiful! FYI - Fiyero, who you thought you recognised, is Jonathon Bailey. Broadchurch is possibly where you may have seen him? Or just in general as he's become quite popular recently. Was just named this years sexiest man actually :D Oh, and Boq, the munchkin (Ethan Slater) is actually Ariana's partner irl, he also played Spongebob in the broadway musical.

ShelleyAnn

Getting caught up with reactions 🥰 The silence between that conversation about 'i can't like that' had me LOLOL🤨🤣 Loved this reaction and now I'll have the end song stuck in my head for another 4 months 😂
