Seeing the line up of the 2 episodes... Oof.. Gonna be a rough one.

Michael Rawson

Love you guys a lot but be careful downplaying drone warfare - watch coverage of the war in Ukraine and you’ll see killing people with drones just creates a unique type of trauma… yeah those lucky enough to be using the drones aren’t in personal danger but every interview I’ve seen with drone operators is they feel like assassins and their kills are cheap shots - a totally different type of survivors guilt and ptsd that typical soldiers but just as traumatic

Tay

This show really made Dike look like an idiot when he was far from one.

Rob & Trin React!

Did not think of it as downplaying anything tbh but rather just thinking outloud but it is very much noted for sure.

Rob & Trin React!

Can imagine the reality of a lot of stuff being very different from the show. So many things get pointed out to us after the episodes and we love hearing the truth of all these brave men 💕

Lindemo

Since Rob mentioned it in this episode, Joyeux Noël from 2005 is a great movie that depicts the Christmas truce of 1914. Might be worth a watch for next month.

Stephen Ambrose, a noted historian and author wrote the book in which the series was adapted. He wrote it based on interviews with members of Easy Company, diaries, letters etc. The portrayal of many of the people can be skewed by others biases and faulty recollections, such as that of Albert Blithe already mentioned in the comments. The same could of said of Lt. Dyke and Sobel. It is solely based on their observations and how they felt about them personally and not necessarily the true reality of their characters.

Stephanie Bedworth

I think you guys didn't recognize Lee Adama. Good old Apollo was playing Captain Foley in this one. He was the one arguing with Dike during the Foy attack when he told him to go around back and attack Foy from the rear.

Cindy

You mentioned how the majority of film you see on World War II is an American perspective. I think it is because few other nationalities make films of this caliber. But, the British, Canadians, Australians and their colonists also had very similar experiences, such as Normandy, North Africa, Burma, Dunkirk, Belgium and even London. The Free French as well suffered in battle. You could take the experience of Easy Company and apply it to any nationality fighting in this war. So seeing this from an American perspective is just a very small representation of the full scope of this war and all its suffering. By the way, you saw Michael Fassbender again several times the last two episodes, and he even spoke a couple of times, LOL!

Cindy

One more thing. There is another actor you haven't seen yet that should be in the last three episodes. I am looking forward to seeing if you recognize him. That's going to be fun. Just remember how young they were at the time.

Marty McGee

Yeah this is written from the Easy Company guys' point of view. Sobel apparently did wind up jumping on D-Day and being a part of the invasion. Just not with Easy. Dyke also had commendations from his actions saving a group of soldiers during a battle. Again not with Easy. Also during the attack on Foy he was wounded and that's one of the reasons he was flustered and unable to make decisions. The men didn't know it at the time though. Not excusing him because his time as Easy's commander was clearly not his best. Gotta love Spiers. Apparently his run through town both ways was even more impressive in that it was not a short distance between them and I Company.

Buckle up sunshine, 3 left to go, war is brutal

TheGrouch74

From my knowledge I believe the British we're sent in first in most of the wars lol cause we're hard you know lol 😂 then the Europeans helped followed by the US lol

Farva

There are very few movies/shows that can make me cry. This is one of them. Good luck. There's still some cry worthy moments this show has left to give.

Superpotroast

Fun little detail that most might not notice, is that the Bastogne forest was all on a soundstage..They did a great job making you think they were all freezing to death..

Laura Dawson

Came here to say that! Every time Foley spoke I was like, ‘Come on Rob, you’ve heard that British man do that American accent before, you must know who that is!’ There are so many great actors in this show!

Laura Dawson

Breaking Point is so bloody relentless, it always gets me. Never knowing when the shelling will start again. Seeing what happens to so many of our favourites (Toye, Guarnerre, Buck … then moments later Muck and Penkala). Seeing their friends grieve for them. It’s relentless. I think that’s why the relief when Spiers takes charge and quickly turns things around hits so hard. We need a moment where we can cheer again.

James

I could watch an entire episode of a medic in world war 2 that was so insane, amazing episode.
