I'm German. I still remember my school days very well. We learned all about that period in history and politics classes. How the Nazis came to power. All so we would learn that it must never happen again. We had a very intensive project week at school, dedicated solely to the Nazi era. Survivors from a camp came to our school. They told their stories, and we could ask them questions. One day, we also visited an old camp. It had been converted into a kind of museum, and there were many original photographs on display. We were able to go into the houses where the prisoners had been held. All students in Germany learn about this period so that it never happens again. We even watched "Schindler's List" in class. I was 12 years old at the time. Back then, at school, we eventually got fed up with it and kept saying, "Oh, please, not talking about those damn Nazis again," but it's important. You mustn't forget it and you have to learn that the Nazis must never come to power again. Things can change so quickly when the wrong people make political decisions. We can see that quite clearly in the USA right now.... Sorry for my poor English. I always need to use Google for longer texts. I'm not very good at it yet.

There's a German film that was quite successful worldwide. It's called "Der Untergang (Downfall)" from 2004. It shows Hitler's last hours in his bunker. I saw it in the cinema back then.

Episode 9 is a heavy one. Thinking since it’s a Spielberg production the part about the camps had a given place in this.

"We can see that quite clearly in the USA right now" You are not wrong. Most of us can see it too.

The US is an absolute dumpster fire.

WabbitTrax

That was Tom Hardy!!!

Heretic

You mentioned From! Looking forward to it.

Reavezz

That was a great film but unfortunate that it’s extremely historically inaccurate considering Hitler didn’t die in that bunker

Reavezz

Did you seriously just compare a democratically elected president (who already had a full term that wasn’t a dictatorship) to Nazi Germany and Hitler? That’s unbelievably embarrassing dude

Reavezz

Yea thanks Biden it’s gonna take ages to fix

Cindy

Agree. Easy Company did not find this camp on their own, but it was probably the best representation Spielberg/Hanks could make of the horror they really did encounter as Easy Company was a part of the 101st Airborne and did enter a camp. "During the 101st's drive into southern Germany, the unit uncovered Kaufering IV, one of 11 camps in the Kaufering complex in the Landsberg region. The Kaufering complex was under the administration of the Dachau concentration camp."-United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. They also make note that the US Army did in fact require German citizens of nearby towns to bury the dead.

'Why We Fight' is always a tough episode to watch, but it's also probably the most important episode..

Superpotroast

Hey now, let's not ruin the moment by treading into the muddy swamps of modern politics..

What about E10 Points?

SmartK8

Oh, I see, it's just not in the collection.
