i am actually getting excited! i am 31 but i am excited to watch Narnia again. It has been probablly 12-15 years since i watched it. I used to love it back in the day. it was a magical movie.

Fair comment but cmon it’s December, was the poll for xmas movies I remember voting but I didn’t even realised the month! Maybe being unique with no Xmas movies but I’m a bit disappointed but love them regardless

I think the problem is Rob and Trin don't trust their patreon members to come up with good enough movies with a very straight forward genre without the grey area added, it's a shame because there is A LOT of great seasonal films, and they need to trust we will surprise then with some great films regardless of genre

I think the mix works well for those that dont have an interest in celebrating the holidays all month long. Let's be honest by the last week in January nobody wants to even think about christmas anymore 😂 let alone watch a christmas movie. Poll for December 2023 was the same comedy/festive and the only festive we got where Robs and trins picks because overall more than 50% of people taking the poll voted for more comedies. There's no way to make it any fairer than how they do it xxx

I'm not just talking about Christmas though, besides by January 1st the Christmas poll would have been finished, But what I'm trying to say is with certain genres. It's basically locked into one genre, And for example for Halloween, you basically had horror movies for more than a month, which for many of us is also not appealing, and when we have action genre it tends to be just that genre and we end up with movies from that genre, But in my honest opinion, you need to either have grey area on your options for every month or no grey area, otherwise, regardless of the genre we end up with the same type of movies which is a bit frustrating, And this is a perfect example because we had a genre for Christmas and we ended up with one Christmas movie but it wasn't from the polls and it wasn't for Rob and trin's pics. They would have been no Christmas movies at Christmas

I disagree. They could easily make it fairer by picking a genre and sticking to it every month. And if you suggest something that doesn't fit in the category, it doesn't get chosen, I mean this was supposed to be Christmas comedy feel good, and yet one of the pics was the fast and the furious, And it got selected

haha we had 2 months of Halloween, we try to honor the poll and the fact a film like F&F made it was my fault for wording it as "Feel good" I should of used the word uplifting or wholesome. Always learning how to make people happy without backing out of what we posted. Next month will try something a lil different that has been asked for a lot of times as a poll theme :)

Well, no, there were three horror movies (The Substance, Black Phone, and Barbarian), two superhero movies (Superman and the new Fantastic Four), one scifi (Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes), one musical (Wicked), and a Mission Impossible sequel in November.

You're right. I was looking at October where there was seven horrors then in November another three, which kind of highlights? The point I'm trying to make is that certain genres get plenty of air time so to speak, but even when it's not that turn they still get in, even on the month where we had female lead roles, that did work, And rub and trins pics were very masculine movies, Goodfellas, Mission impossible, etc, which is fine, but makes me sad at the holiday season can only get one Christmas movie

I totally get where you’re coming from. I suggested a Christmas comedy and it got several votes but didn’t make it past the first poll, which was a little disheartening. Given the theme, I hoped a lot of people would jump on it. If it makes you feel any better, I think a lot of people consider The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe to be a Christmas movie. It’s now a staple holiday watch for many, many households.

Popular movies that have a lot of marketing money and make a lot at the box office are almost always the worst and have the least impact but people vote for them because that’s all they’ve seen. Thats the tragic nature of all reactor channels lol 🫠You can have one for 100 years and maybe the only critically artistically significant movie that will be voted for in that time is it’s a wonderful life
