Stranger Things S5 Chapter Seven The Bridge FULL REACTION

Also remember, this was a time when people thought if you were gay, you had AIDS and couldn't be touched. Will was super brave in coming out! Very well acted scene.

Here is information regarding the character Holly in Season 5. New Actress: Nell Fisher Previous Actresses: Tinsley and Anniston Price Reason for Recasting: To give Holly a larger, more active role as a protagonist in the final season, developing her beyond a background character.

Marty McGee

Yeah, apparently she's was in a movie and showed real emotional acting chops and the Duffers were impressed. It was a good decision because she's been amazingly good in this.

I've seen this episode half a dozen times now and Will's scene still gets me. I get there's been some questionable placement of scenes in this season (emotional speeches in the middle of urgency), but imo this is not one of them. They had time. They were waiting for Hopper to get in place. And it was crucial for Will to do this in order to face his fear and fight Vecna with no reservations. Earlier in the episode he was so scared and still blaming himself because Vecna had twisted and amplified that fear. Get ready for the finale!! I got to see it in a theater and loved it

Great episode I’ve got a few gripes with certain scenes but over all it was good. Hollys actress is doing very well this season she’s one of my favorites, also it’s not the same actress as the young girl. As some who’s gay who also had a crush on my best friend growing up, Will saying “he was my Tammy” and getting over his childhood crush literally overnight because of one chat from Robin is not realistic in the slightest. Not even to mention robins crush was on a person she never even talked to while Will has known Mike since they’re like 5. Anyway, Noah Schnapp (Will) did some really good acting in his coming out scene it’s not his fault the writing was a little iffy there.

James

I still cannot fathom why 8 and Murray were there lmao. Murray would definitely be mildly homophobic

Kitikits

Did Mr. Clarke just reference LOTR?😆 Excited for the finale!

Can't wait to check out the reaction. Its vet/travel day. I messed up timing her meds so now she has to wait at the vet for six hours and I ahbe six hours to kill in Florida. I can't bring myself to watch this on a tiny iPad screen in a random parking lot so im counting the hours until I can get home 😮‍💨

MSephiroth

Acceptance is not the same as 'getting over it overnight' though. And why do the gripes and bad things always have to be mentioned before mentioning like a percentage of good anyway? 'Oh yeah, your party was kind of boring, the food was bad, the chatter was really lame actually and there wasn't much to do. But it was fun, I guess..." Noah Schnapp literally was the one that helped them shape that scene, so by your own logic, I guess he IS at fault then

Amber 💙

I don't think he's completely over it. I think he just realized that it's not in the cards and that what he was looking for can only be found in himself.

Stephanie Bedworth

I really don’t think it happened overnight. I feel like Will’s been in the process of letting go of his feelings for Mike ever since last season when he talked to him about El and the painting he made for him in the car. His talk with Robin might have finally given him the last piece he needed to fully accept that and move on.

James

Bruh calm down. That’s just the way I talk, the order I put things in shouldn’t matter to you. It’s literally all about the same thing. Me putting the good first doesn’t change what was said. And it did not come off as acceptance to me, it came off as “That crush that I had for the last 7 or 8 years of my life means absolutely nothing to me anymore because of one conversation and I’m over it already.” acceptance would be “I don’t care if he likes me back or not, I’ll say how I feel and if he doesn’t feel the same then that’s fine but I’m going to be feeling this for a while.” They put his crush on the same level as Tammy (a girl that Robin never even had a conversation with)

James

Yeah that’s what I think too it’s just the way it was written didn’t make it seem that way to me at least.

MSephiroth

Well, then I don't know what to tell you, then I really think you watched the scene in a weird way to be honest. Like was said, even last season we saw him already trying to come to terms with the acceptance and understanding taht it was never going to happen with Mike, which is again, different then getting over it. And as was said as well, this was just the final piece of it to have him understand that fully and accept that it was never going to happen. Like with Steve, I don't think his feelings for Nancy ever fully went away, but he accepted that it wasn't in the cards for them. It's different. And my statement about the order of things was more of a general statement, not sure why it triggered you as much as it did, lol xD

James

Because people who try to correct how other people speak are insufferable. Like it cannot be that serious where someone saying the cons before the pros is something you even think twice about. That’s like getting mad that someone says half empty instead of half full lmao.

MSephiroth

Nah, it's just thinking that everything today is already shit enough, and that it might help if people started focusing more on the positive, instead of the negative. I don't think that is such a wild thought actually, but that's just me

James

Agreed. Robins talk was definitely what he needed I just feel they rushed that “moving on” part too quickly. It’s been like 2 days max since that chat. Last season was about his crush on mike not moving past it yet just addressing it more clearly

AnGeLuS

Speak, friend, and enter 😆

MSephiroth

Which was almost 2 years ago in-show, so if that's rushed, I don't really know how long you wanted them to take for it, and again, I don't think it's moving on' at all, it's coming to terms with it, which are two very different things. Which I will again bring up the Steve with Nancy example, especially considering you bring up last season, where Steve still basically admitted to nancy that his dream involved her, that he clearly still, had feelings for her, which even Robin pointed out to him and Eddie even. But since then he realized and accepted that it's not going to happen, but I still think he has those feelings for her

James

I don’t really want to clog up the comments section more than it already is with an entire debate lol. So we can leave it at this, I just don’t find it believable for him to go from head over heels, constantly giving longing looks to saying “he’s my Tammy” after two days. I mean he was literally asking Robin about signals to look for that Mike likes him back then even trying to initiate something, i don’t think he would be doing all that if he was already thinking of moving on. Last season he was literally in tears because he couldn’t tell Mike how he felt so his whole moving on arc didn’t even start until this episode where it just happens out of the blue. That’s just my analysis of it though.
