For me, this episode is better than The Constant

Yay! Earlier than expected. Shut off the Netflix show I just started to watch. :)

Been waiting all season to get to this one! Such a great episode and the writers finally start to show their hand a little bit :) A wink and a nod episode.. we know what you want! Desmond, clues, Charlie, purpose. 6 episodes left.

This episode completely changes season 6 and leaves you with more questions than answers, but the waythey will be answered it will be beautiful

I never noticed the detail of Charlie noticing Kate on the plane before seeing Claire vs Charlie hitting on Kate before seeing Claire in the very first episode.

One of the great things about this show! Still finding details 10+ years later 😁❤️

Desmond is both the Constant and the Variable, the bridge between times. As you said, his episodes never disappoint. My theory is that Eloise knows things because she's kind of like the Desmond of her generation. Great reaction, and I can't wait to watch what comes next!

Desmond and Charlie compete for the spot as my personal favorite characters on the show, so this episode sits extremely high on my list of favorites as well! Also: this spoiler-free video was created and released back in 2010 just shortly after the episode aired and makes me laugh my ass off to this day. If any of you haven't seen it, I encourage you to watch! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ObKv--fLnmA

I think this was the episode where I started getting more interested in the flash sideways scenes over the island scenes. So many goosebumps from desmond asking for the flight manifest from minkowski... "I just need to show them something." Desmond is hands down the best character mostly because he has the best episodes. And I love that it was charlie who helped him open his eyes in the story. He had such a great friendship with him. The fact that desmond named his son after him when the man he hates the most is basically the same name always blew my mind when you realize that his love for Charlie overpowered his hate for Charles. Everyone likes to say that sawyer and juliet were the best couple but they don't come close to penny and desmond.

Charlie + Desmond + Daniel = can't lose!

Unfortunately, even if he wanted to, Charles Widmore couldn't have been nice to Desmond from the beginning. Since Charles fathered Daniel with Eloise... and Eloise had adult Daniel's journal after killing him in 1977... Eloise was privy to decades of info (plus she seems special in her own right, much like Desmond)... some of which she most likely shared with Charles when need be. So, if Charles had been nice to Desmond... Desmond wouldn't have broken up with Penny, eventually joining a sailing race to prove Charles wrong & win his approval. Leading him to the island... crashing 815... and saving the world...which was his destiny. This is what always happened and had to happen. Our Desmond is uniquely and miraculously special... whether he likes it or not.
