It’s been a very long week filled with a roller coaster of emotions.

Last Sunday I was shooting with Kristyna H in my home studio and at Hunstanton beach in Norfolk.

On Monday morning Kristyna departed for London. Soon after her departure I learned the sad news about my long-standing retoucher Alexander Fess.

Since then I have been trying to digest the news whilst occupying myself with admin work and at the same time trying the services of new retouchers.

To this I must add that I had already started the process of finding a supplementary retoucher from last week as Alex had stopped responding to my messages one week before his passing was confirmed. I suspected there was something wrong but I thought that whatever it was, it could only be something temporary. With the backlog of retouching to be done I felt I needed a supplementary retoucher rather urgently.

Just as well I started early as I have already made considerable progress in finding new retouchers. I have so far tried the services of five retouchers.

Thank you to everyone who took part in the retouching polls - your feedback is very much appreciated.

There was also some other good news this week, including the award of an FPI from my January shoot with Kristyna - a black and white art nude photo (included in the paid members part of this newsletter).

I am really excited by my upcoming shoot with Aphrodita on Monday.

Part of it will be outdoors in a rural woodland that’s private - kindly provided by another photographer who lives nearby and owns it.

It is the first time that I will be shooting with Aphrodita outside my home studio. I checked out the location yesterday and I loved it. I will also use the garden part to the woodland for a more glam look. Fortunately the weather is promising to be good.

I am only planning to shoot there for the first one hour, with the other two hours in my home studio, which affords more privacy for erotic content creation.

One member is already sponsoring that shoot and will get the entire content from the three-hour shoot (I anticipate around 800 photos and six videos).

Retoucher progress: Fortunately, I know some of the special tricks that Alex had up his sleeve so I can take a photo retouched already and get it closer to the look that Alex used to create. The photo on the left was done by Daniel retoucher. When I sent to to Chiara her comment was that the general look wasn't as good as she was used to, it was too bright and didn't have enough contrast, also the sea wasn't blue enough and that some of the photos were "almost grey". The one on the right was the result of my own colour correction. Chiara approved it so I am really very pleased.

The other retoucher who I have been trying is Mathilda. After some initial training, she is beginning to produce some really good edits, like the second photo in this post (with Kristyna and the watermelon).

I have not made a decision yet as to which retoucher I will be retaining as I feel it is still too early to decide. Currently I am also waiting for the first set from a retoucher recommended by Anna herself. I am also trying a retoucher who reached out to me on Purpleport. It seems word is out that I need a new retoucher!

Once I have enough information I will decide. From what I know so far, based also on your feedback, I could be using a variety of retouchers depending on the task at hand and additionally having posts with unedited photos - in one poll the unedited photo won over the edits! It is also a comment I often have in direct messages - members often prefer to see the model completely unedited and natural. Comments on this most welcome.
