i generically use they/them when i can't tell without asking, if i should use she or he pronouns by just looking at them. it's just being gender neutral. matters to some. not me.

We use singular they all the time without it having anything to do with actual gender. "Oh shit. Someone left this wallet behind. I hope they come back for it." We do it without even thinking about it. It's just also now a description of somebody that's not a man or a woman. That's all.
