It's crazy how many kids today watching actually think it was Tolkien the entire time and then go on to play right into the meta joke by changing all mentions of Token Black in credits/wikis, thinking everyone got it wrong. Token's name has been spelled on things like notes and classroom bulletin boards throughout the whole series and it's just obviously been the running joke that matt and trey were making fun of other 90s shows that always had one ancillary Black character who never said or did much as "diversity."
